I totally love Go West's take on Bobby Caldwell's classic song. This version has a funky, danceable groove. And Peter Cox's smoky, soulful singing is A-plus!
Me, too, Ms. Audrey. I'm an '80s fan. I continue to live in the '80s mode of music because of the British Invaders like Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode, Go West, Swing Out Sister, Bananarama and more. Peter Cox is great! Thanks to You-Tube and the internet that the new generation like us love the band and their music.
@@dwightlove3704 Fair play although Jay Kay has pretty much stuck to one genre and style - Peter Cox fronted Go West originally on the funk / rock boom of the 80's going head to head with bands like Level 42 before he mellowed into his real groove which is soul based... right back to Ray Charles, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and here, Bobby Caldwell. I'd argue that his range and scope over the last 3 decades puts him in a class of his own. I remember watching this video while waiting in line to go on a Rollercoaster at Six Flags in NY back in the summer of 1993. I always remember that moment bc I liked Go West and the song.
This cover is SO underrated. The original is amazing too but oh my fucking god, Go West added SO MUCH MORE JAZZ TO IT. that bassline!!!! Those horns!!! I'm in love!
ME TOO!! Don't forget the 🎷Sax! 😉 🎺🎺I Love this.😍 been playing it over & over etc LOL. Its 👍Fantastic. I can't believe this doesn't get played on 📻80's Radio stations. What this 💎Gem ! Its Fantastic. wud u get up 2 dance 2this in a club? x
Doesn't this want you to have a romantic candlelight dinner by the beach in some tropical island paradise with the sun set and soothing cool breeze blowing? Ah. I can't imagine anything more beautiful than that.
Thoughts of an old Victorian hospital i was in during the summer of 1992. Sunny days and family coming to see me, and great music such as this. RIP Mum xxxx
Saw Go West in Murphreesboro Tennessee in 1986 opening for Tina Turner. Un B leavable. They had a great bass/guitar combo of Pino Paladino and Alan Murphy(RIP). The guitar on their first two CDs is off the chain. Any player today could learn something from Alan. Give a listen!
I absolutely love this cover by Go West! Very sexy & reminds me of sensational romance I had in the 90’s during my 20’s. It was such a whirlwind roller coaster of a forbidden love but man was it amazing! This was “our” song 🥰
This guy was just like Bobby Caldwell, the music world was shocked (the R&B community) when a very very soulful man was singing this do your Thang bro INDIANSUMMER CHK OUT THE CD😅
Very soulful. I remember dining in at a nearby restaurant in Wisconsin and it was the first time I heard this version of this song. I fell in love ❤️ with it instantly.
cool version of bobby's song. go west did an amazing job, especially the beat to the song. this song reminds me of when i used to hang out with a bunch of cops off duty, and this song definitely suited the atmospheric mood!
This is definitely my favorite Go West song of all time. It combine a mix of blues-type vocal with jazz instrument. A perfect combination in fact. This song is the song that I always play when I feel broken hearted after being left by my girlfriend.
Go west and Go back to a great great great time....such Great talent and tunes. Bobby Caldwell wrote this song. Cox reminds me of Robert Palmer! Another wonderful artist. RIP.
A emoção de relembrar Ayrton Senna do Brasil e sua vitória épica em Interlagos no ano de 1993 e essa música me marcou na corrida vencida por Senna que foi nos braços do povo.
European musician has always had a high respect for classic SOUL MUSIC more then Americans...these guys from london did a great job with this Old classic SOUL song
I totally love Go West's take on Bobby Caldwell's classic song. This version has a funky, danceable groove. And Peter Cox's smoky, soulful singing is A-plus!
I've been a fan of Go West since the mid 80's and I so love this rendition. Very jazzy and soulful. Peter Cox is amazing.
Well said, Audrey. Peter is a slept-on soul singer. Great technique and phrasing. He is a true artist. Much respect.

This cover is a great tribute to Bobby Caldwell, who left us too soon.
Bobby Caldwell is one of my favorite male vocalist of all time but this version brings back memories of a somewhat simpler time.
These Homeboys From England Remake from 1992 Is Outstanding.
A Bobby Caldwell interview brought me here. He said that this version is the one that impressed him.
The way this is shot is extremely 90's, and it's making me very nostalgic.
Many people in the world share that feeling too. Greetings from Chile!
yes your comment gives me chills !

Peter Cox from Go West done a great job doing a remake of this Bobby Caldwell track. Blended Supernatural Beautiful. ☺
He was hot he gives me Mickey Rourke / Bruce Willis vibes but he would make a good cop like on. Law n Order 🌟🌟🌟
RIP Bobby Caldwell, Go West did enormous justice with this track.

I LOVE this version! Bobby Caldwell is fabulous too, but as a singer I've always been influenced by the funky jazziness of Go West's rendition!
I love this version and Caldwell's original too.
Agreed! It's OUTSTANDING
The vocals of the original has moments that are sightly off time.
This fixes the pocket issues.
This is one of few remakes that out did the original. It is one of my favorite songs. Kudos to Go West. They knocked this out of the ballpark.
Absolutely love that little falsetto at 2:42
