Yeah I was fully expecting the ending to go back to right before the punch and Alan realizing it didn't happen. But this all being real makes me more even more invested in seeing where they are taking this arc!

The fight choreography in this was actually so good. Like obviously there were silly moments because IT'S COMEDY but it felt really clean, well acted, well cut together.

So I was wondering if @dkblanar was making a deep reference to that with his post.
I love how the thing that hurts Rowan the most is not the punches, not the defiance from Alan, not even the destruction of company property with the pen, it's Alan quitting. Rowan is devastated by not having control of the situation and with the loss of his first and best friend.
Rowan brought this on himself and if I'm being honest, it felt good seeing Alan stand up for himself.
@Dark_Karma26 it does, but I hope this doesn't result in a return to status quote. Either Rowan needs to come to respect Alan(even if just in private) and they reform their friendship, or Alan needs to become a rival to playtech

From the moment Alan punched Rowan, I knew this would be one of my favorite ever skits from VLDL. The Agent Smith rapid punches. The genuinely excellent fight choreography. And the cliffhanger ending.

It was mostly iconic copied choreography of other movies/shows if that is what you call superb. I would have rather seen an original fight scene.

In the podcast, they've talked about the requirement for an antagonist in plot development, and how that led to them shifting Rowan and Ben's characters into conflict. Great decision to let Alan win one, at least for now. The back and forth needed more back and forth.

@@attila0323 Budget issues. It is difficult to accommodate her with a remuneration commensurate to her acting skills, so the production had to cut corners by relying on her cardboard cutout.
(Fun fact: the market-level remuneration of Brits cardboard cutout would still have been higher than those of all other actors in the skit, but it chose to forego most of it to support the show. THAT'S dedication! 😉)

The choreography was good but they made it way too evenly matched, which made it less satisfying narratively. Like, I don't wanna see Rowan being on top most of the fight and just barely losing at the end; I wanna see Rowan getting absolutely humbled and having his shit stomped in.

After everything Rowan has pulled, seeing this was so incredibly satisfying.
Especially at the end where you can just hear the little bossy, entitled and egomaniacal manchild that he really is in his voice.
I'm satisfied and sad at the same time. TeckTown will never be the same without Alan...I want the next episode right now.
I hope they stick to it actually make Rowan change as a character or if not maybe have Alan become manager of a rival store and just do better than him. Anything other then just going back to abusive manager rowen always wins. Felt like we lost a lot of possibilities when rowan become manager again after such a short time not one. More so when the "dad" or the general manager never once came in to temper rowan abuse.

This fights were awesome, I mean the choreography and stuff, was god like, jeezz this is very nice. It was awesome, now to hope that Rowan doesn't have connections outside to make temporarily or forever hell out of Alans life. Or low-key would be nice if they got back together. Sorry like Rowan is not just that bad, people who are rough around edges tend to be acctually nice, they just had to fight more. I hope he gets better, as before he can't just spiral down. Acctually both might be probably similar when they get to the power. Ohhh they always do such a good job 💚 hope that they stay themselves forever instead of bending it according to someone else's liking ... so they suddenly wouldn't feel like they ruined everything every time and try to make it better with in return it makes worse.... The biggest surprise here was not the actual fight that took up most of the video... it was Alan finally drawing a line. I also loved Ellie's reaction as if it was the coolest thing she'd even seen while working there (it probably was, lol). :)

Britt is such an excellent and effective employee that she cleaned up the blood spat up by Rowan from Alan's kidney punch so fast that it didn't show up after the cut to the next angle. And she did it all without being seen!

The subtitles on this were AMAZING! It felt like watching the old school Batman show with the POW, BOOM, THWACK words on the screen.
Thanks for calling that out. I rewatched with them on, and I agree they are bangers. I especially appreciate the timing of the punch/dodge subs. And the "arm reload" one.

What I thought would be just a cool but fleeting reference to the matrix ended up being a huge one that also followed the core of the original work. Amazing and exciting.

I Hope I'm wrong but sadly I think they will mess it up like they did having Rowen being manger again in one episode of not. I'm sorry to say but After that waste of potential I have no faith this series can actually grow and change. Some nonsense will pull alan back. Rowan will "change" all smiles, and we'll be back to abusive rowen manager in less than half a year.

@@Corusame And? It's a series that has character movement , progression, and lore. The SImpsons today are not the same as the 1st season neither is any long lasting media project. I was disappointed when rowen went back to manager so fast I hope that this time we actual don't revert for a long time if ever. I regret 17 hours ago saying I have no faith the comment read too harsh. I've watched all of bored at least three time I enjoy it. I have some faith they can make it feel fresh and change things some I hope to see the comment I made above proven wrong.

I never thought I needed the continuation to this more than I ever thought I would my entire life. I'm ready to see Techtown fall apart and Rowan is wondering why. Ellie, Britt, and Adam proceeds to tell Rowan all the things that Alan does to not only fix all of Rowan's mistakes, but keeps the store up and running behind the scenes.
i know this is a skit ... but i was really surprised by my own reaction @ 2:00 when Alan turns the fight around. I found myself unexpectedly yelling out "hell yeah Alan".
Really goes to show how good Viva La Dirt League are to get such a reaction! Especially when most of their content is comedy related. Can't wait to see if/how the story proceeds going forward.

The fighting scene was better than most movies these days
It was actually a not to the Matrix choreography (complete with the same moves, even the blurred fist combo), which was, let's be honest, quite stiff and unimaginative (as was the whole movie).
