Funny how most people portray Olivia as the victim when in reality Olivia was the toxic cloud in this entire family. Funny how most people portray Olivia as the victim when in reality Olivia was the toxic cloud in this entire family. She had such control over Ethan over the years it was scary how she managed to brainwash him for so long. Not only did she brainwashed Ethan but she also brainwashed Moriah and Micah as well. It wasn’t until Micah and Moriah got older and matured that they realized the truth and saw the light. Ethan was tougher to come around because sadly that was his wife and he didn’t want to let her go but in the end he came to his senses.
I wanna clarify I said this a thousand times, Ethan is not perfect and he did screw up many times with Olivia. I’m referring to issues they had outside the family matters. Like Ethan not communicating with his wife and doing things behind her back that pissed her off, but in all fairness Olivia should never put Ethan in spot where he constantly has to choose between his wife and his family.
I sense that Olivia deep down inside might be jealous of the bond Ethan has with his family. She noticed despite all the ups and downs they managed to pull through and they come around to make amends and be united. Something she never had with her parents. So if she can’t have that with her parents that means she wants Ethan to share the same fate and that’s beyond messed up.
Olivia needs to learn to forgive and let go. She would have closure on her life if she would contact her parents and express to them how she feels. She doesn’t need to be in touch with them but closure is very necessary and maybe she will learn to be a happier person.

Ethan decided to isolate himself from his family for a long time simply because he listened to everything that Olivia told him. Naturally since Ethan loved Olivia he just followed her. When Micah and Moriah were also having their own issues with their parents Olivia immediately stepped in and brainwashed them. Micah even admitted this himself. He realized they were easily persuaded by her words.
How can people put blame on the parents when the parents respected Ethan’s decision in wanting to keep them far away and cut all contact with them for years!? It’s laughable to me.
Toxic is when the family are constantly arguing with Olivia or the mom or father is constantly harassing them in some shape or form that trigger marital problems. That was never the case. People like you are just pointing fingers at the parents because you don’t believe in their religion. If you don’t believe in the religion everyone can respect that but there was never a big fight between them. There was an issue about the mother with Ethan’s credit card and Olivia butt in and decided to take matters in her own hands. Now THAT’S TOXIC. Because that was her mother in law and she could’ve handled it differently by talking to Ethan first.
People these days can’t even distinguish correctly who is the main core of most of the problems in a family situation. This is why toxic people like Olivia will continue to be the way they are as long as others support and justify her actions. Olivia has A LOT OF PAST ISSUES. She refuses to seek professional help so she can heal from it and move forward as a better person. This is why her mindset and the things she says tends to be negative and if she cut ties with people she wanted Ethan to do the same but forcing your husband to pick between family and his spouse is TOXIC TO THE CORE.
So his parents'problem was what? A closet drunk that ran over her own child! She was using his credit cards for what reason? Why did she need his credit cards? What scams was she running? How did they buy all of the houses on one paycheck? She was the best thing that he will ever have! She knew the brain washing ad overcame it!
