- We fix a few things on some other vehicles then my new throttle cable shows up so its time to rotate the new Toyota K3 carburetor 180°. It was more of a pain than I thought, but got her done and took her out cruising.

Batteries worst enemy is vibrations. Cheap batteries cope less well with vibrations than more expensive ones.
@@BorisEkner I used to love Optima batteries (I had a deep cycle yellow top for like 10 years) but since they switched their plants to Mexico they're trash now so I always just get Interstate Batteties from Costco. Usually every 2-3 years in this heat.
If this was my car with my garage,i would have made an effort to make solid copper lines instead using the rubber ones.
- I know my idea is over the top but i think it would have worked as good as or better at the end.

Any plans to do a breakdown of all the finances of the build? It'd be awesome to see initial costs plus all of the parts you put into it versus the sale price. Its been a hell of a channel builder so I hope we can see another project after this one is done!
@@bowen11 I have all the receipts from stuff I've purchased locally. Ebay doesn't let me go back that far anymore, I'll look again though. But yeah I could approximate it. I'm guessing the majority was all the spray paints and cleaners and bed liner and undercoating, basically all the stuff in cans lol.

I might have misunderstood, but are your 4 carburetor studs failing you on the intake manifold?
If ‘Yes’ I highly recommend you to use HeliCoil inserts to repair the damaged threads. Read the instructions, learn to do it correctly, and HeliCoil will never disappoint you, ever.
I’m a radar engineer and when I worked at Sivers Lab, where I worked in the 1980’s, we used HeliCoil for all aluminium screw/bolt assemblies.
@@BorisEkner Yeah helicoils are awesome. The studs weren't long enough that I could bottom them out in the intake manifold, and I had threadlocked them, but I had to break that loose to raise the height of the studs. So when I went to tighten the nuts on top, I got about 2 threads and then the whole stud started spinning and lowering it into the intake manifold. I should have gone to the hardware store and bought some thread-all (ATR) and cut them long enough to bottom them out in the manifold, then the nuts wouldn't be able to turn them. I ended up using more blue thread lock and waiting a few hours for it to set, also cleaned up the threads so the nuts wouldn't grab the studs. Not sure if I explained that very well.
If you were older and worked on radars in the 40's and 50's you might have heard some UFO stories from the operators. You might have even had a call to go check out why the radar is showing bogies traveling at 8,000 knots and going from ground level to 80k ft in 2 seconds lol. Then u check the radar and it's 100% good lol, you ever heard any stories like that?

2.5-3 turns of a bolt in a nut or in a solid application is said to be enough. From personal experience I disagree. From a perspective of torque vs. materials involved the more the better.

She we have corrosion on the battery poles there is an +/- imbalance in the electrical system. Most likely due to bad ground to chassis connection somewhere.
Ya def could be. It's not a common thing to see here but they don't have any donuts or dielectric grease on it so there's definitely corrosion.

You have a mechanical grinding noise, like a water pump, alternator, or equal, or a bearing, that is running dry and about to fail.
It's the throw out bearing on the clutch.
Please tell me you greased the throttle cable before its final installment.
i agree with the commenter a few videos ago about the wing nut, you should use a bolt instead if it backed out it couldnt go down the intake. gr8 show btw and really i have one question.......where the heck are your plates? its been like what a month maybe more...also great aim with the flame

@@numbskullskills Yeah that's a good idea. It'd suck to suck a wing nut into the combustion chamber. Not sure if it's big enough to get past a valve but it would definitely screw stuff up.

Mine is on the way urs was fuel line n back been watching and doing other things to so no sure exactly why turned it 180 but mine runs fine that way fuel cable choke cable in front radiator side fuel line in the back. Idk.
@@P.Trim69 Ya I wish I hadn't even messed with it. I just thought that vacuum port on the bottom might need to be in the opposite bore of the carb and every picture I saw showed it the other way. It doesn't seem to matter, and like you said it just lines up better the other way.
@@FixLife119 I call it national but it's not it's place you kit I thought mine come with directions piece paper had it cables in front few black white pictures if remember correctly idk
