It was an amazing storm. Very beautiful. We stood at the back door and watched it. The rain was very heavy and it was literally overhead. Storms make me feel so alive !!
We were staying at the Chessington World of Adventures hotel last night and the thunder legitimately woke me out of my sleep and frightened the bejeezes out of me, I thought the ceiling was crashing in or something lol. Ive never heard or felt thunder that strong in all my life.
@andycurrall6861 my wife is convinced some lightning struck the hotel electrics as the fridge had a soft light on throughout the night and she said it went off and made a really funny noise in the height of the storm. Yeah it was so weird, didn't help that it was actually lovely and sunny for the most part in the park this morning lol
Was a few miles distant from me in Hackney but still pretty loud and bright at times. It was the first time my cat had seen a thunderstorm but he was surprisingly unbothered by it.
I was cat/house sitting in Tottenham, one cat went into hiding and the other cat was sleeping on her bed by the back door that looks on to the garden. Thunder woke me up around 2.20 in the morning. I hadn't been asleep long as I had been tracking the storm on my lightning app before bed. It had also been very warm and humid and everything was very still. I remember thinking we're definitely going to get a storm and I wasn't disappointed.
I'm in Tottenham, north London and the thunder woke me up at around 2.20am in the morning, it was an awesome storm. One of the cats I was looking after went into hiding and the other cat was sleeping on her bed by the back door and couldn't have cared less. There was a lot of thunder and the rain was really heavy.
I live in Billericay and we just got the edge of this storm. I heard just one rumble of thunder but our son said there was lots of lightning from the south west (over towards London) so London copped it big time. Hubby could see the lightning from our living room window but I couldn't see it from where I was sitting.
Saw this last night in greater london, we live near a block of flats and the lightening was hitting the very top of the block, i was watching with my family from the window in the living room with the light off.
The most intense storm I've witnessed over Ealing/Brentford. Very bright lightning too and at 02:20AM that particularly loud thunder literally shook the entire house. The lightning strike hit an office building antenna around 100 metres away from my house
I live in Walthamstow and the thunder woke me up about 2.20 am, no idea what time it actually started so I imagine I slept through the beginning of it. Lay listening till about ten past 3 as the rain stopped and the thunder faded away. Good job I didn't have to go to work until Monday morning! 😂
I was nearly in the center when it was passing or happening by my house. I have no words, i haven't seen anything like that my entire life and i was slightly frightened of what I'm seeing tbh
Thanks M8. I'm good but still shocked what I saw. I knew it at 8pm that something is about to happen later that night. I wasn't wrong. I'm awaiting another one❤@@ukweathervideos
Additionally thunderstrucks was pretty normal but it sounded for me like it is something artificial or else like it was playing from loudspeaker. Am i only one with my feelings about that???
What time did you film this? I live in Devon, and we just had heavy rain throughout the day and night. We haven't had a good thunderstorm down this way in years.
There might be some isolated thunderstorms this afternoon, but the risk is fairly low. After that, it is uncertain, but there are no immediate thunderstorms risks.
Did you capture some upward lightning there? On the slo mo? I live near Swansea. I woke up at 4.30am a huge flash of lightning, followed by another, which lit the room up, heard nothing. I checked Blitzortung and the nearest strikes were around Hereford!
Harrow, 02:20 to 2:50 a few rumblings and flashes and one significant almighty near ssynchronous flash and bang and about five minutes of moderate rain and that was it. A bit damp squib-ish. Thunder storms are a rare event now in this part of London . . . . Air movement is virtually non-existent today . . .compared to the blow-ups of old. This one was nothing to match the frequency and duration of Summer evening storms of the early to mid 1970s or those of my childhood in the late 1950s and early 1960s that used to bang and crash for hours on end and which, on occasion, flooded the back garden. Nowadays, stormy weather oncoming from the Atlantic Ocean in the West rarely makes it unmolested to the Eastern part of the country. . . it gets as far east as Lyme Bay Dorset and then is forced due North by the endless high pressure weather systems edging out from the continent. Sush. ! Not a word to the Met Offce . . . they think its all normal.
In all fairness, watching this video and the way people are describing it, it seems not that bad at all. Other countries get some real whackers compared to .UK. Strange considering we're surrounded by water and even in muggy weather on the whole, we dont get much thunderstorms.

OH MY GOD!! So we I!! I woke up at about 3-4am and looked outside to this
I was so scared lol, but no one seemed to talking about it the next day?

Pretty crazy! A lot of people have reported some of the thunder as being the loudest they have ever experienced.
@@andycurrall6861 Would be impressive for anyone to sleep through it 😂
FRRR

Such a calming relaxing storm
Spectacular and great to watch. I live in Hockley, Essex and we have not had one decent thunderstorm in the past six years.

Seems like parts of Essex have had not much activity recently :(
Just Stunning
I had to watch this, as I love these types of storms 😍
Me too! Nighttime thunderstorms always have such a nice feeling about them
It was to hot so happy for the storms lovely hearing it ❤
Where i live we haven't had one decent storm this year, they always miss us!
Unlucky! Felt the same way here for a while, then that changed and we have had quite a few storms since.
Around 3.15 and 3.45 showed some beautiful anvil crawler lightning. Loved the storm and wish I was there to record it, it was so beautiful
We had same in Oxford early hours yesterday morning, too.

Thanks for sharing! Hopefully there wasn't any damage.
south London - this was a nice storm but one particular strike terrified me. it was SO loud!!!
Nice!

Near guildford, and by God it was one of the loudest storms I've heard in my life..
Seriously loud thunder heard around south-east England it seems. Thanks for the report!
Half expected to see the Mothership appear!
😂

Agreed!
Yeah, scary snd awesome over london😁😁
Thus is the best sorm I have seen to be honest.
The last I can remember we had a thunderstorm a really long time ago
This definitely was one of the main events of the year for storms in the south-east!
I was nearly in the center when it was passing or happening by my house. I have no words, i haven't seen anything like that my entire life and i was slightly frightened of what I'm seeing tbh
That sounds really intense, hope you are okay! Thanks for sharing.
I wish I was in a centre of a storm but in North Kent we did not get anything just some rain. How I would love a loud storm

Around 2:45-3:15 AM
@ukweathervideos I see. No, it was just raining over here in East Devon. You certainly had a lightning skow on view.
Great storm, only thing I didn't like was it woke me up and I had to be up at 5:30 lol
Haha yeah, lucky it was a Sunday for me otherwise I would have been annoyed too 😂
We've missed every single storm this year here in the Midlands. They've just passed us by, always been on the edge. Suffice to say, I'm disappointed 😕
I heard it last night any more coming i like thunderstorms
There might be some isolated thunderstorms this afternoon, but the risk is fairly low. After that, it is uncertain, but there are no immediate thunderstorms risks.
@@ukweathervideos I heard a few isolated rumbles but nothing major.
Missed it here again in warwickshire only heard one rumble and a little rain and that was it about 4.20am today. 😫
Sorry to hear that! You never know - could be some action in store later this month and in october.
So lucky. All we had was 0.2mm of rain and a flash in the pan.
Sorry to hear you missed out this time! Might be a couple more chances before winter, hopefully you get something then.
@@ukweathervideos We never get it, thanks to the Thames.

Yeah, got some upward lightning which I can't actually recall capturing before. Exciting stuff! Impressive you saw the lightning from so far away, too
There were a few flashes on Hatterall hill near Hay on Wye. I heard them from near Builth Wells.
Fun fact: when hot and cold collides it makes a storm!
Also...i slept through it lol
Can you do more videos update on the winter update and all sores
Ill try, depends if we get any winter weather though.

With the type of storms we get here in the UK, it doesnt take much to get storm lovers like myself excited 😂
