Hi Eileen, I am so happy that my demonstrations are inspiring you! These are strange and difficult times at the moment! Take care and let's hope this is over soon :)
I enjoy watching your step by step tutorials very much. You told us why you use those techniques, which makes me feel like you are teaching right in front of me. You are a wonderful teacher. 👍Thank you very much, Karen. 💐💐🙏🏻😄🌸
That was wonderful Karen. Your demo was very easy to follow and I really appreciate that. Thankyou I’m off to paint a beautiful hibiscus flower 🌺 en plein air. Happy painting👏🎨
Oh gosh, I am amazed when I see just how loose you manage keep your painting, the way you let the water almost dictate the way the whole thing is going depending on where you drop your paint. I know for certain that I would end up tightening up the whole piece by totally overworking it and losing all the spontaneity of the early layers. Huge respect to you xx
Thank you Rita for your great comment! So glad you like the video, this way of painting is definitely a way of loosening up when you’re painting in watercolour, and yes the water does dictate! Happy painting :-)
Karen I just returned over a week ago to my home in Canada - on self isolation and using my photos I used your tutorial and it turned out great - thanks for helping us get through a dark time in a healthy way💗
Thank you for your wonderful comment! I am so glad that my tutorial helped you paint your photos well. It's good that while we are self isolating we can paint! Take care, keep well :)
Wonderful Karen. You are a brilliant artist and a great teacher - you help us so much . I am in lock-down in rural Australia and keeping sane by trying out your techniques. Thankyou so much . Marlene Griffin
Thank you so much Marlene, really pleased you like this tutorial. I really feel for you in Australia... lockdowns are so tough! I really hope you come out of lockdown soon 🙏 I am so pleased that the tutorials are keeping you sane, trying out all of the fun techniques! Will be thinking of you when I am painting my next tutorial. Take care, stay strong 😊
Your method is a breath of fresh air for me. I am trying to teach myself and loose my self in watercolors . So peaceful and draws me in. . Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Your video has made me more confident. Thank you from my heart. Linda
Nice work again..I hope you doing well ..just checking on you with this virus running around and to thank you for the videos ..never did flowers before but I'm finding it very relaxing and enjoyable..thanks again and stay healthy
Greetings Darlene from Ontario Canada! I really love your comment, so glad you like the limited palette and my videos in these very difficult times! Thank you! :)
Beautiful! I love the 3 color usage - keeps it simple to remember, especially on these hectic days we are experiencing -- lets you paint with less stress!
Thank you Linda, you have put that so well, we need less stress at the moment! Painting is one of those stress busters and less colours really help! Take care :)
Je ne comprend pas tout ce que tu dis, mais je trouve que tu fais un travail formidable ! Je n'arrive pas au même résultat que toi, mais je persévère! Tu m'inspires! Merci!
Great idea!! Thank you Sara so glad you liked the tutorial and I will give the series of three colour painting some serious thought! Happy painting :-)
So Lovely, Karen ;) Appreciate your talent and helpful descriptions of what and how you do it! Sending you good health and look forward to watching you on YT next time. Blessings from Vancouver, Canada

Merci pour ces beaux coquelicots Karen, j'ai terminé le champ de coquelicots que j'ai mis sur ma page facebook en mentionnant que c'était d'après votre vidéos!
Wow, today the penny has finally dropped Karen. I realized why my paint wasn't moving around and just frustrating me. Your water actually made puddles ON the paper !!! Now I get it -DUH!!! Brilliant tutorial interesting brush strokes and of course a lovely flower.
Hi Barbara thank you for your comment and I am so glad I helped you and the penny has finally dropped! As the watercolour artist Alwyn Crawshaw says... "Bags of water!" . Take care :)
I love your very wet on wet process. I'd have yo change out my work surface to flat, otherwise I'd have lots of drips...LOL. I work on a slight slant. I'd love to try this, tho. It looks so delicious.
Thanks Judy for your comments, so glad that you like the wet on wet process. I think it is a good idea to work flat when you’re working very wet. Take care :-)
Thank you Debbie for your question. I usually use paint straight from the tube. If you rewet, spray your paints a good hour before hand to give them a chance to moisten up and easier to use. Hope this was helpful :)

I'm such a perfectionist so it's going to be a challenge to let go and use this technique, but I'll give it a shot!
I hope you enjoy this style of painting, just let go and don’t be too hard on yourself! Happy painting :-)

Thank you!:)
So pretty! Do u recommend doing this with fresh paint from the tube or is it ok to rewet it from the palette?
Thank you Debbie for your question. I usually use paint straight from the tube. If you rewet, spray your paints a good hour before hand to give them a chance to moisten up and easier to use. Hope this was helpful :)
