Right!teachers dont teach us and make us go to college without any experience! Some teachers really suck man! My English teacher in grade 11 didn’t even teach us how to write a essay outline and in grade 12 we had write a whole essay without any understanding of one/ it.
Theoretically, it is the anchor. However, a thesis can be modified upon completion of the argument. Sometimes we discover we made a different argument than we intended.
As an adult learner going to graduate school after having been away from school for 100 years, I can't tell you how helpful this video was! I have struggling with Thesis statements for weeks and you truly explained this in a way that I can wrap my mind around. Thank you SO MUCH!!

As I got into my final years of uni I started structuring my thesis statements as "if...then...because" statements (before trimming them down in edits to be less wordy/more concise). It's not a perfect science but it was always easy for working out the core of my idea before trimming it down, I always found thesis statements the hardest part of any paper

I came here to say thank you. After this weird year that 2020 has become, I am going back to school at 25 after not being in an English class for 8 years. I do not remember how to cite or format in MLA, how to make a thesis statement, or properly structure an essay. This coupled with all of my classes being an online format (no lectures, just assignments, discussion posts, ect) have made it extremely difficult to learn and get back on track. That's a great video! I'm a French student doing OIB program in history in English. I've always struggled doing essay in History every since high school and always had bad grades at my essays. I think thesis statement was one of the thing that I really struggled with but with this video, it's clear as water! But the biggest problem I think I have is the writing itself. I'm a French student doing OIB program in history in English. I've always struggled doing essay in History every since high school and always had bad grades at my essays. I think thesis statement was one of the thing that I really struggled with but with this video, it's clear as water!
But the biggest problem I think I have is the writing itself. My history teacher often says that my essay doesn't flow and make it difficult to read...I'm going to see right now your video on structure, pretty sure it will help me a lot ^^
