    It's truly important to mention that fun is the main objective when you get to try your first water-board-sport. Sup, then sup-with-sail, possibly sup-with-wing. And from there on, anyone can decide what they like and how far they wanna take it. When we were young, we were just fooling around on BIC Dufour, Highfly etc., sometimes without sails, just with peddles....like a sup! Joy and fun is where it's at.

    Every now and then I'll take my windsup out (exocet 11'8) with retractable daggerboard and have a great time on an 8.0 or 9.5. It'll get planing with a better than stock fin, and reliable for all the float. And it won't leave you stranded downwind with the daggerboard. The downside is just that it's big and heavy.

    Nice one. I am thinking for a few years now that brands should develop inflatable freeride board for beginners, with footstraps and proper fins. So that people can enjoy their first planning runs without having to carry this huge board around. They could also use as sup when wind is off. Hopefully they can get addicted to planning then and start getting in the crazy hassle of having carbon boards all over their garage.

      @@MrZsooti there was one, the decathlon tamaho freeride 500, it had a fixed fin box. lately it was reduced to 300 bucks and now its not sold anymore! sadly i missed on that.
      still there are plenty out there theese days i guess, but they are all good for learning but not for riding fast.
      this way, they wont compete

    Ich bin mal auf so einem ähnl. Windsup angefangen.

    cut the edges with a knife so that it's sharp. it gets you plaining. or glue sth sharp to the edge...
    Started 1 year ago on an inflatable, now i switch to a 7m sail not shure if i ever gonna switch to hardboards - the tipping point is somehow different. real problem is the fin, it wont last forverer if you really go fast with it.
    thought about this for some time: biggest advantage of an inflatable is, you wont get hurt and scratch your knees if you fall onto your board! :P

  • @PavelBarbanegra
    @PavelBarbanegra Год назад

    Looks like it wants to either have more weight on the nose, or for the mast step and the sailor position to be moved forward. It was sticking almost 45 degrees out of the water at some moments... Like, a level board is a fast board, and so on.
    Would be interesting to see how it'd behave with a drybag full of camping/touring gear on the nose:)
    Also, have you tried removing the front fin? That should allow one to steer/trim the board with one's feet (a daggerboard makes that really difficult at speed, actually more like completely changes/reverses the way the board responds to feet steering).

    Hi Great video. I'm thinking about buying a SUP with windsurf connections and I have some questions: 1- is the connection the same for all the sails or there's a limit? (The idea is to buy a used sail) 2- How many meters of sail do you suggest for a beginner 75kg? Thank you🤙

    Hi Nils! Cooles Video. Deine Aussagen über den Einstieg ins Surfen kann ich persönlich bestätigen. Ich habe vor ca. 6 Jahren (mit 45 Jahren) auf einem Naish Crossover Wind-SUP das Surfen gelernt. Heute habe ich 3 Hardboards und foile auch seit 2 Jahren. Auf meinem Kanal habe ich einiges dazu eingestellt. Mein Abo hast Du mit diesem Video sicher ;-)

      @@WindsurfingNils absolut! allerdings sind die abrisskanten zu stumpf, meine ist aus silikon, habe sie mit einem teppichmesser einmal durchgeschnitten, dann ist sie scharf!
      jetzt gleitet das board genauso über die wellen wie ein normales, also mit abheben. die schwertfinne muss man natürlich einfach weglassen (ist aber gut bei leichtwind, meine ging neulich leider wegen seegrass einfach verloren =((
      allerdings, nach einem jahr muss ich sagen, dass sich das board vor der finne inzwischen leicht wölbt, es ist also auf dauer nicht die beste lösung. bzw die meisten hersteller müssten da einfach noch nachlegen.
      natürlich hat auch nicht jeder lust, mit einem messer an seinem sup rumzuschneiden, allerdings sind die schon robust, mit gewebe verstärkt, und ich kenne auch einen laden der reparaturen anbietet sogar

    You wind surfed in the wrong position, with large boards (don't mind if inflatable or not) feet toward the stern and shoulder toward the bow, mast arm stretched out, hold the boom not too close to the mast, rather move the mast hand closer to the wider area of the boom

  • @JeroenTrappers
    @JeroenTrappers 5 месяцев назад

    Planing with the middle fin will never work well I think. With boards with daggerboards, you'd also slide it up and away when going on a broad reach or going planing. Please try again while removing the middle fin.

    • @serg1832
      @serg1832 4 месяца назад

      Nope, its much worse without middle fin, I tried it, but with wing. It adds course stability and gives possibility at least to try returning to the start point. My opinion - need to change middle fin to bigger one

    Бесполезная комбинация. SUP придуман в первую очередь для компактного хранения и перевозки. А мачту так компактно невозможно упаковать.
    К SUP подходит только надувное крыло.
