"Drive a car that no one would drive, later drive a car that no one can drive"
Yes Sir!
I want this to be me someday!
My car is 11 years old. I don’t have any car payments. I love that Jeep with 115,000 miles on it and counting. Because I don’t owe a penny! I am free of car payments and I don’t need the status of a new car to prove that I am clever. It’s a great feeling to jump off the status symbol train wreck and just be me.
I drive a pick up you don't want to see and drive!! Hopefully one day I'll drive my dream car!
@Amir .. awesome! We have old clunkers, hubby is a mechanic .. I don't care, it gets us where we are going.
With a qualification that, you should make sure the car at least drives safely and reliably. I drove a 2001 honda accord until just recently. Sometimes you have to pay extra to make sure you get something quality, and it'll save more money (in the long term, having less repairs)
Working on paying off my student loan. It is so tough, but I’m motivated to do it! I’m 51K down just another 9K to go. ✨🙏🏾
Wow!!!! That's awesome!!!!
Well done.
Stick with it!!
Austin Butler thanks. I’m in the 8K now. Cant wait to be done.
What do you do for work if you do not mind me asking
Henry Spangler thank you 💜
Delayed gratification is too difficult for most people.
Thats the true separation point right there. DELAYED GRATIFICATION.
Very true
Most people ARE just children.
Emotional decisions for short term FEELS GOOD, instead of rational plan devising and executing for long term FREEDOM.
So true even today and we've been married 39 years
Instant gratification FEELS SO GOOOOD THOUGH 😔😭
I'm eating like nobody else now (bread & water) so that later on, I can eat like nobody else (beans & rice).
Lol!
Fillet Mignon
Brantley 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
oh man! BAHAHAHAHA
Trinder3467 what other stuff you eat?
Yep, I’m the millionaire he is talking about. I was the worst at school, but when it came to work, no one worked harder than me, saved hard, and invested hard. Now I’m in my mid 30s I have a couple of million in property and have my house paid off. I still work in a supermarket 3-4 nights a week after my day job.
What did you do for work from 21-30?
Wow man 👏🏻
@@chancellor9724 minimum wage job until 23 then an apprenticeship for well below minimum wage for 4 years, then I was a fully qualified plumber from 27 onwards, which was average pay. It’s what I did with that money that got me to where I am.
I paid a price almost two years ago. I’ll never forget that look on the bank’s face when I paid off everything. Now I’m stacking money like crazy
Mike Nelson nice way to go!!!
Mike Nelson Good for you! You've done something amazing for yourself and your family.
Five Cents Matter well I actually don’t want kids but I know what you mean and thank you very much. The bank loan consulter was like, you’re debt free?? Wow. Now you’re truly free lol
Great mike ! It's a great feeling eh ?
Mike Nelson You are amazing!
My best friend worked in a paper mill, had his legs crushed and collected disability. He drove the worst car in town. He worked hard and invested in coins, gold and silver and made millions. He ultimately purchased 75% of our town and became a legend in our community in his own life time.
"Anything you win at, you work at"
That's good right there
I’m 22 and have 1 semester left in College and have enough saved to make it without student loans. I paid cash for my car and don’t have any debt. I worked all through college it can be done.
Im sure it can when you live under someone else's roof
@@existentiald562 even then you need funding if you don't have scholarships. Cost of living is high.
Good job. Did you work before you went to college? Or did you also have a high paying job during college.
@@existentiald562 not true I moved out of my parents house at 18 and I'm cash flowing my own college tuition. I've only got one year of college left until I complete my bachelor's
Same it's a great feeling getting your first job post college without a student debt. All income is yours to spend and donate
It's hard living like no one else. Just the the psychological side of it can weigh on me sometimes being younger (20). Videos like this really encourage me to push and be responsible.
Same here man, I'm 25, friends always want to go to bar and go out. Cant afford it man, I'm saving!
@@doubledown6617 Im exactly the same. No time for a holiday right now, im saving for an investment.
(22)
I hear ya.
I drive an '06 Honda Civic with 275,000, go to a community College, and am currently renting out my parents' house.
But if I'm honest, this lifestyle doesn't bother me as much as a "free-spirited" one does.
I have nice things because I can afford them. I buy them for me, to impress and reward myself and to teach me to continue pressing on.
I love my life with its security and I would live it a thousand times before trading it for a broke and stressful one.
Charles J. Easley II I’m at 17, you’re the kind of person I aspire to be in five years! Keep it up.
Its tough when your young and single. I was like that. I'm 46 now and have been following Dave's advice for 20 years. I have a paid for house worth $300,000 and just shy of $1,000,000 in my retirement accounts. Just keep it up. This stuff works.
Live your dream. Not someone else's
AaaaaaMEN.
Don't keep up with the Joneses. Stop worrying about how people are judging you. Live like no else in order to become wealthy and then buy whatever you desire.
Make the sacrifices which no-one is willing to make today, to be able to live like no-one is going to be able to tomorrow!
Thanks Dave for everything! Just paid off my car at 19!
Ace 5474 You are amazing, congrats!
I see a future millionaire. 👍
Binh Nguyen me too!!
Whoa! Paid off your car at 19! Talk about weird. That’s the good weird like the people during the debt-free screams who’ve paid off their houses.
Ace 5474 i hate u
“No one accidentally wins at anything.”
What a gem!
Here in the UK, I paid off two credit cards and had these companies asking why i was leaving. I simply said "O don't need you guys anymore, you are skinning me financially!" Thanks so much Dave, I watch you before and after work and you continue to educate and inspire me financially and spiritually.
Do you know what you have if you don't have ANY payments? MONEY...DEBT FREEEEE! Thanks be to God and for Dave's advice. 👊
Rhonda H. Lol
Well done. God bless you and your family.
We started this month ! We have our $1000 in place and then committed to a budget and decided to start living like no one else... We were blessed with a $1000 gift from family and $400 commission bonus at work this month. We paid off a $1400 credit card that we have had for 2 years paying $39 minimum. Amazing how God blesses you with more when our start managing what he has already given you.
I paid cash for my car 2 years ago, still driving it. So many wanna keep up with the jones when the jones's are in debt up to they eyeballs.
*Their. ...But very true
I sold my wife’s car when we had kids, which saved us repayments each month and we shared my car for 3 years. It took a little bit of schedule planning to make it work
We recently bought 2 4x4s (one for each of us), but paid cash.
I love not having that monthly car payment!
Step 7, and retired somewhat early. We started out late doing the steps, but it worked for us 120k paid off in 39 months. Thanks Dave.
A Benavidez Tim is living in a cardboard box, so he should be able to afford food for the next 20+ years
A Benavidez that's expensive. Buying rice and beans at just a few dollars could last you a week
I'm 47, did the steps, aquired tons of cash...I'm retired becuz I was already a multi millionaire....just did steps to show my kids how everyday ppl struggle.
Nick Steve I prefer filet mignon and lobster
debt paid off
Paid for my community college myself, now I am joining the military to serve my country and get my master's degree. 0 debt. Bought my car in cash. Things aren't easy but I ask God for strength to get me through it all so one day I can give and live like no one else. So glad I found your channel. This isn't easy and I know it wont be. But I am HUNGRY (as Les Brown would say) and I'm not giving up until I scrape and claw my way out of the poverty i've grown up in. Thanks for your words, Dave.
"There were roaches in there doing ninja moves"

Running

Man deserves a medal. And act your wage, great tool to live by
i listen to this whenever i get the urge to spend all my savings
"Live like no one else" I love this saying and have repeated it to myself several times since discovering your channel in December of 2016. I got to work almost immediately, went scorched earth, gazelle intense between January 2017 and January 2018 and as a result I was able to pay off 43,657 worth of debt and have been debt free for approximately 1 month now!! I am now working on baby step 3. So eager to be in baby step 7.
Erin Symone That is amazing
Erin Symone congratulations!!!!!!
👏💰
I almost let my ego take over, and buy a new car and change my old car that I really don't need right now, just to shut-some mouths( being a fool ). Thank you Mr, ramsy. I know better.
I've been selling 90% of the stuff I have in order to move out and at least can afford an apartment!!!! Selling is a lot of work and sacrifice!!!
With discipline, persistency and CONSISTENCY, anybody can achieve anything!!!!
Roaches doing ninja moves! Hilarious!
Thank you, Dave. I needed this video today. I started the baby steps last April and am now on baby step 6. I'm really putting in the hours at the moment as I have been blessed with extra work and so am trying to make hay while the sun is shinning. I worked a 14 hour day yesterday and working those hours week after week gets to me some days. This video has got me all fired up and again and raring to go. When I have paid off my mortgage, I would like to travel to America to do my debt free scream in your lobby, but saying that, I'm English, so I'm a little more reserved than you Yanks, so maybe a debt free "Hurrah!" would be more appropriate.
Well done. Im in the uk too. 14 hour days are normal for me to. We can do this. Time to hussle.
"Roaches doing ninja moves" 🤣🤣🤣
Every once in a while I have to come back to this video to keep my going. It’s hard, I feel uninspired sometimes because right now I only have one significant source of income.
We are just getting rolling in baby step 2. Toddler, infant, daycare x 2, lots of student loans, mortgage, 2 car payments (one will be paid off very quickly so Dave doesn’t yell at me 😁) and this wisdom has me truly seeing and believing we will do the debt free scream one day in the next few years! Thanks for changing the way I see my future and the future of my loved ones!
In December 2021 I joined a half marathon training group. Doing my second one in a month. It’s amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it.
I just want a house and be able to afford healthy food
The best way to have healthy food is to grow your own. It'll save you a lot of money too.
Way to go running Dave! And encouraging others to join you in your pursuit to good health!!
Dave, this is awesome and truly some timeless wisdom that cannot be overvalued. Thanks for the habit reformation and wealth principles. God bless!
Love it! It's good to listen to rants like this to get you fired up!
Dave...you're the man! Thank you for every word...
"Anything that you are gonna win at, you're gonna work at" I have learned that over the past 3 years. Thank you for all the videos Dave. i still got many many more videos to watch.
Ahh Sharon's Restaurant - love it! And that is what my family's eating too except in our town it's Mom's Magnificent Meals! Got homemade chili cooking right now and made homemade bread today too.
I love this vid so much! This rant to me is both inspirational and motivational!
Thanks for revealing the running was tough, Dave. I am working to get back into running and must be cautious in doing so as I have cranky knees, and when you said '6 miles', I was embarrassed by my paltry mileages of current! I will never run 'long' distances compared to many, but I'd like to get back up to 3 or 4 miles a few times a week. And I WILL, just gotta put in the work to get there ( I am, just gotta be patient and give my skeletal system time to catch up with this type of strain again)! BS4+, and working on the running again. The 'baby step' idea applies to SO much more than money in life. Eat that elephant one bite at a time!
Dave and your words are a balm for my raw and stinging soul.
" there were roaches in there doing Ninja moves" 😂
Thank you, Dave. This is what I needed to hear. I’m doing it and don’t care if I get made fun of for it. I won’t be the one with the burden of debt on my shoulders and I won’t be the one who will be broke, anymore.
I really love the inspiration you spread sir! It gives hope.
Thank you, Dave, for motivating me out of my hopeless debt situation to a real practical plan that I know will work for me. I moved to a more affordable part of the country and scaled way back (no cable, internet, etc) and I will work full time and do my free lance self-employment on the side until all my debts are paid and my savings is in place. Thank you for inspiring me, Dave.
Man, I love you, Uncle Dave!!! You're hardcore. That's what we need. Soft financial guru's....that mess does not help anyone.
You explain it so well. When callers call in, you are compassionate.
I since a lot of cynical sarcasm in these comments....Lol but I'm sold makes since to me!!! Debt free is the way to be!!!
What a great message, love this! Dave, I’m so proud of you! ❤️
Im 25 with only $25k in debt. So glad i found Dave before I bought another thing I couldnt afford!
Time to work a plan because Dave doesnt say get in $25,000 in debt he says dont take on debt at all.
"Only" 😂😂
I started in my early 50's and knew I was going to turn 60 anyway, so might as well be debt free. Done and decided to pay off my house and buy a new car cash in the meantime. I was single making 40G and it was hard, but so proud of myself. You can do it!! (my favorite drink at a restaurant is still water - not paying $3 for tea or soda)
I am in the process of selling my stuff to jump start our debt snowball. It's hard and it hurts but I know the end result will be worth it! Listening to Dave really helps me to keep motivated and stay the course. Thank you Dave!
It's been 4 years of having moved back home. I thought it would take max 2 years. But I'm 34 and still living at home ☹️. I'm debt free and my money is up though so thank God. Living like no one else right now is no fun
Tell it like it is brother! God bless you and yours.
Bought my car cash...thanks to Dave! So thankful for him.
In all honestly even when I’m a multi millionaire I will still love eating at the Golden Corral
TWDxKILL3R This spoke to my heart lol 😆
The golden corral is the walmart of buffets
To me, I always figured eating at chili's and cheesecake factory was luxurious.
$1.3 millions here, thanks to S&P 500, using coupons (buy one get one free) at Yoshimura restaurants every time....
When my financed car broke down and my girlfriend had to quit her job cause we were down to one car with no way to fix the problem immediately we both sat down and said we can’t do this anymore. That’s when I found you introduced you to her and we both agreed to say no more. We just started baby step one and we aren’t stopping until we’re debt free vacationing in Hawaii
So when’s the ring coming?
@@xxtoptankxx6873 December
Dave you make my day, love from Scotland.
Laughing while I learn is my favorite way to study. Thanks Ramsey!
“Anything you’re gonna win at you’re gonna work at.” Truth!
Love the honesty!
Hahaha I don’t eat at the Golden Corral!!! 😂
Mannnnn I love Dave but I HAVEN'T been able to go to the Golden Corral. He doesn't go there because he doesn't like it?
Man what's wrong with Golden Corral. I love their southern comfort food. It's now pricier too $13.99 for dinner or something LOLLLLL
Hey now, don't go knocking the Golden Corral! I love that place! And I look forward to eating there once every couple of years as a treat! Maybe later on when I am a millionaire I'll snub my noise at it, but for now, I look forward to going there!
Thank you Dave for showing us how to sacrifice for success.
Thank you Dave
I had gotten a bit off track. I don't know how as I was following my budget last month. I am getting myself back on track but my momentum took a slight hit. I was able to pay off a debt each moth since the beginning of the year but I was back to the beginning this month paying just a little over the minimum on my smallest debt. Just wanted to share that even when we have set backs getting back on track is possible. I am only a month off track but it feels like a year off. Spirit's up momentum rolling back in this race Thank you Dave Ramsey and crew for helping through this.
Thanks for your humor Dave!!
Great message
Thank you Dave!!!
I love you Mr. Ramsey!!! You are amazing!!! My husband and I just started reading the total money maker after being given it as a gift! It is such a blessing in our lives! It has brought us closer together! Thank you for being used by God!!
Wow Dave. I had 1978 caddy. Also. You made me laugh. My car smoke. Also now I drive nice cars. And I’m bleeesd. I watch my money. Not rich but not asking any body for anything. God is good. Like you said. You need to work at it. If you want to be there
“Anything I want!”
I like that Dave! Thanks
This is why I watch Mr. Ramsey show every morning when I sit down to eat breakfast. Every morning!
I'm 23 and most of the people my age want everything handed to them and don't wanna work for stuff. All they do is sit on social media all day and cry about how working 40 hours a week is too much....
Wow this is really inspirational!!!!!!!! Yep I will do whatever it takes to have riches!
Thank you sir!!!
thanks to the great mentor dave ramsey!!! opening my eyes up...once i pay my financed used truck off $2,726 by feb 2019 that'll be it no more car payments ever I'll drive clunkers n beaterz for life🙏😎
😂😂😂😂 Dave, you are so funny. 💖
LOL!!!!! Dave is straightforward, as well as funny! He earned a thumbs up from me on this vid!👍
This is the quote that changed my family tree
Dave always keeps it real
Bless!
Thank you! :)
Everytime Dave tells the story about driving the job so buggy, I laugh so hard and still remain grateful about the lessons that life affords you when you pay the price to win.
Thanks so much Dave for the lessons that you continue to teach us.
hahaha man that story nearly got me in trouble at work, laughed so hard that the other guys in he boardroom could here.hahaha Dave is a real one, appreciate him more during this pandemic
God Bless you Dave 🙏❤️🕊😇
Hey ..... I have no car payment , have no house payment , have no credit card payment , Have 0 debt .......... Hi Dave. Like the last comment...also not from the US.
I'm watching from South Africa, same principals apply here.
