We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning ruclips.net/user/postUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.

Thanks for this comparison. Which one would say is louder tho. Bass is not necessarily super important to me bc I want to throw a set of these on a ATV. So I need to be able to hear it over 50/60 mph over the wind. I have the jbl extreme 2 and it just gets drowned out at 50. Something a little louder is what I'm looking for. Thanks man

Was in the market for a new Bluetooth speaker. Was going to go with Marshall but was way out of my budget. I figured you’d have to pay to get that good sound quality. Happy I came across this video. Ended up buying the soundcore for $80 and it’s exactly what I wanted. Great sound deep bass, clear with the EQ settings volume all the way up. Great vid thanks!

Older video but I’d like to mention that for the last 8 years or so I’ve used poweramp on my android and it’s by far the best eq you can have (at least on mobile) as it actually boosts audio without distortion if you have your dvc volume correct and not only does it have a good eq but the dedicated bass/treble sliders are highly functional and add much more sub bass and sparkling highs to audio.

@Spyonion I have the Extreme 2 and after I EQ the Motion Boom Its almost a wash which one is better. For 89 bucks the Boom can't be beat.
The high price is for how long the speaker is gonna last and how well it was built. The anker honestly looks like a cheap toy made out of plastic with no style at all.. doesnt have tweeters as well, just 2 full range driver that sound muffled... so yea this is pretty clear why the price difference is like that
@@shoerice5083 Don't know about the extreme 3's sound but I find the motion boom plenty clear. For songs with heavy vocals its more clear than my extreme 2. I have not noticed the lack of tweeters on my boom. All I noticed is that its not louder than my Extreme 2 and less pounding bass. As for looks and feels for 89 bucks I can't find anything else that I like out there. The vast majority of people that buy the boom love it.
The EQ steals the show. How JBL's app doesn't have anything to customize--cough cough, improve, cough--the sound is beyond me. And while I do agree with some when they say the JBL has better vocals and detail, its mids carry veeeery well, so all people will hear from far away are the lyrics to your music. Just speaking from experience...

I chose and ordered a motion boom, it is almost 3 times cheaper than the extreme 3, and the sound is not much worse. I don't really like the look, but the sound is soft and spacious, the boom is lighter, a comfortable handle for carrying. grab this music playback from a flash drive. And if there was still color music, then this column would be out of competition. I will wait for delivery to Russia for a month and a half, but it's worth it.

@@hyper0505 I don’t quite understand the question with the translator, but I don’t have enough high frequencies, so now I will order Hale AMT 40 tweeters from aliexpress and I will embed them between my relatives, I will also add a padding polyester inside and possibly change batteries with a larger capacity litokala 3400mAh.

lol I just came back to this after looking at a speaker for my sister. The JBL cost 4x time Motion Boom in my area. And Motion Boom was once at a cost where you could have gotten 5 of them for 1 JBL.
I have the motion boom plus and it’s incredible!! Imo anker makes some of the best Bluetooth speakers and aren’t overpriced

OMG, has to be one of the best reviews yet I've seen. Hilarious. Thanks for the great info and laughs. I used to be all over JBL, but Anker/Soundcore have come a LONG way. My tiny $40 Anker wireless I bought about 6 years ago, is finally starting to go (talk about one of the best spent $40 ever...I usually piss that away in beer every Friday. LOL) . Was looking for a good upgrade that I can take outdoors to the beach or parties...think this one is it. Keep the great reviews comin'.

i have jbl xtreme 3 and i wasnt dissapointed the speaker is crazy loud and with the new EQ you can have even more bass the sound is very clear too i think its the best outdoor speaker for me
I have both speakers (JBL extreme 3 & Motion boom). Overall, the Motion boom is the best speaker that will give you the value for money in terms of price and the specs but the extreme 3 has a more clear sound and well controlled bass.
And the newest firmware gives a bit of bass in max volume

I have anker soundcore motion+ and im very happy with it. Jbl extreme sounds better than motion boom howewer in smaller size category soundcore motion+ wins with Jbl charge. (it has 2 drivers and 2 separate tweeters while charge is a mono speaker)

UPDATE: I've had mine for about a month now and i love it. I make beats and this is A-1 for on the go beat making. Crisp and clear high and mids with lows you can feel.the ability to also charge my devices off of the speaker is a major life saver. Thank you again.
JBL flat-out has a better sound profile than the Soundcore but for so much more money. My thinking is that Anker needs to deliver a premium product at a better price. If JBL is $350 Soundcore should try to delivery a comparable product at $150-$170. If I could get similar clarity with strong bass and a decent battery, sold. I owned the first-gen Xtreme and it sounded so good but the bass was definitely contained to avoid distortion. I think the Xtreme 3 made some improvements but it's not worth $350. JBL definitely compressed their sound profile and drops low end as you scale up in volume to preserve overall quality/clarity - something that irritates me. I'd take 10% less volume output if it meant I could keep an overall sturdy sound profile.
I owned the Souncore Motion+ and it was just "OK" for its price. The Motion Boom might be worth it though. My only issue is that the Soundcore definitely doesn't project higher EQ frequencies that well. It's very mid-frequency driven and barely enters into high-mids before the EQ rolls off. Seems they focused more on low end integrity.
I thinking about it again and I think if soundcore will be a little bigger (of course with tweeters) but without this handle will be amazing.

Yeah it sucks. Bass at max volume is basically non existent on the xtreme 3
just like our JVC hifi component system if you crank it up to maximum it will reduce bass. maybe because it will help not to destroy the speaker drivers or the amplifier I guess.

XTREME 3 has technically better sound I think, however not so great that it's worth the price. The Motion Boom has nearly unbeatable value of quality versus cost.
Agreed, you could buy 4 Motion Booms, and give 3 of them as gifts. Or replace ones that are lost/stolen/destroyed without worrying about it too much, compared to almost $400 speaker.
I want to be happy with the sound so if I have money I will get the better speaker. And that ain't the motion boom.

I once found this Bluetooth speaker on Amazon by a brand called Rockville, the speaker in question was theid RPB XL if I'm not mistaken, it was listed for 70$ and is a pretty decent size. I couldn't really find videos of it on RUclips so I decided to just take a leap of faith. And OMG it's a beast I can't believe it was only 70$ it has pretty good clarity and decent bass. I'd love to see you give your professional opinion on that speaker if that's possible. Love the vids🔥

I have the Motion Boom and "YES, the Bass is audible out in the open and it gets stronger at high volume... so strong it bottoms out the Passive Radiators a little on Bass Boosted Songs (iwell, it depends on the bass song) I still like to listen to it often and my hype is over: I have sonically abused it long enough so I know what it can do now plus I heard it outside. I am the life of the "Porty" (slang for Party) I can roll up with THIS and it'll be jumpin' for sure!
How come you get no Sound Settings with a $300+ Speaker and 300+ Settings on a $80 Speaker? Why have a App then JBL?
Because premium equipment doesn’t need an EQ to make it sound good. For the price though this definitely isn’t bad.
@@stormrunnercore Not really. If you understand sounds even a lil bit you would know the upper hand of having eq. You won't be listening to a hiphop party songs, metal, instrumental or audiobooks podcasts with same setting.
@@dexretrogamerzoid630 With your lesser equipment you are kind of correct. All that stuff is colored anyways. I work at a studio and own much higher end equipment outside of it. You’re messing with the original sound if you’re using an EQ.
@@dexretrogamerzoid630 There’s instances where an eq could be used for problems with your room if you’re listening in an untreated room, although you could create more problems as well. I think it definitely is worse investing in room treatment if I were you though. If you’re switching from music to a movie then a lot of people do enjoy messing with the sound and boosting the bass. At the end of the day it’s what you enjoy the most.
Most high end equipment already has the right sound profile built in, you’d then use an eq without presets to fill in anything else, which is quiet minimal by then.

I have a DINDIN bluetooth speaker, I really like the sound quality, the lighting, it works in any place, it makes me happy every time I use it, I have been using it for a year, this product deserves more likes.
Sorry man. To avoid bass distorsion or to avoid lack bass at high volumes you must disable absolute volume on smartphone so speaker volume will be separated to smartphone volume. Best setting is to set smartphone volume non at max(this is to prevent clipping distortions that are typical in bluetooth digital signal at high volume). After set the smartphone volume output you can use the speaker to set volume as you want. Hi from italy

Xtreme 1 doesn't have bass, only midbass. So full vol doesn't stress the amp much.

I'm buying the soundcore portable radio. I bought the soundcore p2 mini earbuds and they're my favorite earbuds ever the bass is awesome and the battery quality is phenomenal and their prices are reasonable for what your getting.
It would be easy decision but now JBL is only $179. At 1/4 th the price id go with the other one but at 1/2 the price I don't know.

I like the sound core for it value price point and I think the price point for the JBL is ridiculous for what you get.
If you plug in the Jbl you get the full power of the speaker, the battery is not big enough to supply the drivers with full power.

Motion boom was a good speaker. This year it started to rattle. Tried taken it apart and replace the speaker driver but I just dont get the right size! damn
Prefect to replace my jbl flip 5. One of the speakers is dead. So i got 2woofs and 1 speaker in it. It was free so idc, but I need a new one for the garage gym. Getting the Anker.
Why no one compares to the Altec Lansing Rockbox XL? I had that speaker for over 2 years and it still being sold by Bestbuy and Woot. Lot cheaper than the top speakers from JBL and it sounds way better than the Extreme 3. Just bought the Soundcore Motion Boom Plus and the sound it's about the same to the Rockbox XL but it lacks the color lights and the choice of material of the Rockbox XL looks way better in my opinion. Looks like the Motion Boom Plus is going to be returned and the JBL Extreme will be for sale. Altec Lansing Rockbox XL for the win
on the jbl speaker im pretty sure u can move the grill back and change it to where the jbl dont balance itself

The price point will sell itself for the motion boom, but I have flip 6 and Bose soundlink revolve s2 absolutely amazing speakers at a not too bad price point…jbl does it for me solely off of quality and clarity

@@luisignaciogarciaguarda6626 i bought 2 of the original JBL Xtremes a few years ago and always pair the. In stereo. Ive put them up against 2 paired megabooms and the megabooms sounded terrible in comparison. The JBLs are going strong but if i had to replace them i think id go for a pai of minirigs with 2 subs.
