I've always liked older music, and so it's always been kind of disappointing because there have never really been any "current" bands or artists that I liked and could go watch a show. So I was obviously excited to have discovered this band in 2022 (interestingly, through a youtube fails reel where some guy tried to kiss Molly on stage while they played "party police"), but then this was before Blue Rev came out, and I didn't honestly think I'd ever see any new music from them, seeing as it had been 7 years since Antisocialites was released at the time. But I'll never forget the day that they released "Pharmacist" on their RUclips channel as a teaser for the new album. I was so excited, and as of now I honestly (and surprisingly) think Blue Rev might be one of my favorite albums of all time. And Alvvays is undoubtedly my favorite band of all time. We saw them live in St. Louis in May, and it was a blast.
I love hearing this! It’s amazing how they contain such a unique energy compared to modern artists that feels new yet familiar simultaneously. I bet they were incredible live too, definitely a must see for me next time they’re touring!!!
