- I should have posted this video before I posted the Things to Consider and Pitfalls of Planning a Model Railroad videos but misplaced the videos when I downloaded them. This discussion with Brian was also very insightful. Both Brian and myself have been designing layouts for a long time so we have a good feel for what works and what doesn't. Hope you enjoy and learn something. I know I did.
THANK YOU FOR DETAILED SHOW AND GREAT BASIC PLAN OUT FURTHER LAYOUT BUILD
FROM AUSTRALIA
I laughed pretty hard when you lost your… train of thought! You raise some good points on design, but sometimes forcing yourself to use limited space on purpose allows you to focus deeper on smaller things and have something achievable. Often we bite more than we can chew and your opening switching layout spoke to me! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching and you are so right about us biting off more then we can chew!
Good explanation. I would like to see Brian’s track plan. I think one of the most important points is the hidden section behind the b,ack curtains. You don’t hVe to model every section. Some track is just to get you to the next “diorama”. Thanks Fred and Brian!
Ely, Next time you are in the store I could make a drawing of it. Very simplistic but a challenge to switch.
@@fredeisen7401 Thanks Fred!

Just subscribed. Was working on my model railroad for the past 3 hours.
Thanks for sharing a very cool diorama style layout. No wonder I can't find a 2-Rail - O Scale - Locomotive - you have them all in your rafters . . . lol. Cheers ~ Boomer.😁😁
Thank You! LOL but Brian builds his own.
Of course here in Texas we don't have basements, so you have to find somewhere for a layout. I enjoyed your discussion though.
