- In this geeky railway video and trip report I show you what it's like to make a cross border trip from Frankfurt am Main Hbf to Basel SBB on the German ICE high-speed train (InterCity Express) operated by Deutsche Bahn. That is the German state-run railway company. I made the trip in first class using an Interrail ticket. It is basically an all-you-can-travel ticket awing you to travel by train all over Europe. I explain the details in the video. You will also learn a lot about Deutsche Bahn (DB) in general. Enjoy!

I never transit through Frankfurt Hbf, I always transit through Frankfurt Airport, the safest major train station in Germany.
You can modify the minimal transit duration or make a Flex Preis booking. The system may recommend you to transit through Frankfurt Fernbahnhof instead of Koeln, Duesseldorf or any other crime infested station.
Hi! I absolutely agree, Frankfurt Flughafen Fernbahnhof feels a lot safer, has many connections and the fact that you can just come out of a plane and continue your trip is really great. Personally, I also love the Squaire from an architectural standpoint, I think it's a cool building. Do you have any other stations in Europe that you like or dislike?
Thanks for watching and your comment!
