  • A severe thunderstorm warning was issued and quickly turned into a Tornado Warning and was heading right for us. Watch as the storm approaches us and it gets windier and the lightning gives us a good scare and leaves a present behind for the next day.

    Good to see some people with a brain. Most of these vlogs on these tornado warnings show careless people who stay upstairs, watch out the window, I even saw one vlog were they cooked cookies during a tornado warning! You guys did the right thing to go downstairs. You need to get a better shelter, though. All of those windows are not safe. You could consider getting tornado windows, they are common here in Georgia. They are cheap and can even be made at home. They are like blinds made of wood or metal, and when the storm is about to hit you close them, so if the window shatters, you are protected. Thank you for being safe, and never attempt to chase or spot storms without training or experience. Thank you.

    My safe place when a tornado hits is down in my storage room with 2 rooms connected. I go into the room without windows, with the 2 foot brick wallow the outside, reinforcement padding, and some lights in the ceiling. There is no way for sound to leak out, so it echoes. Not good with 3 NOAA weather radios, and my TV with surround sound down there.
    I love it in 1 in the morning when the radios go off and I'm asleep in that room...
    Once I was in the room, then the Emergency Alert System somehow beat the radios when I was asleep...The EAS is a lot scarier to be a wake up call then those radios...

      +LoUiSkNoWlEs ! That is scary, since writing this I heard a very old video of a TV weather report of a tornado warned storm and mention was made of packing an air horn with you down in your shelter and I though I was probably a good idea, especially if you have some kind of channel for ventilation... I know, how could that really work? :) *

    I never actually had to deal with DAMAGE from a Tornado before, but I remember one had struck about a good two or three miles from my house. And it was in the middle of the night. We had gotten some storms, and when the power went out, I woke up. And then we just heard rumbling for a good few minutes before it was all quiet, the lightning continuing to go on. This storm was what made me paranoid and a bit afraid of storms altogether. That an the fact that it actually sent a tree straight through my brother and sister-in-law's apartment, BARELY missing my nephew's room (He was about 3 at the time). I used to think that tornados would never hit FL, or at least my town, but now I know ANYTHING could hit my town if the conditions are just right.

    • @MichaelLoudenTV23
      @MichaelLoudenTV23  6 лет назад

      Courtney B. -Treble Blitz yes if the conditions are right a tornado can be possible anywhere. Only damage from this one was a tree fell in the backyard from wind, not a tornado. One time I was staying at my Uncle’s house sitting and the cats came in the middle of the night during a t-Storm and hopped up on the bed meowing at me. I just rolled over and went back to sleep. A tornado hit up the road a few miles from us. I guess they could sense it. Another hit a few miles down from my parents house and left a trail you could see and sent some debris into town.

      @lovelygg13 6 лет назад +1

      Funny enough my dog was the one who woke my mom up first, and then the power outage woke me (my dad SOMEHOW slept through the whole thing). I guess being in Florida, I thought we just had to deal with a season of Hurricanes and call it a year. But Mother Nature reminded me that anything can happen at any time of year, and any place.

    I remember when I was little and we had a tornado warning. I remember sitting in front of the tv and all of it was covered in red and outside it was dark with sirens screaming! Not long I remember the power went out so it was completely dark and couldn’t see anything!!! And idk what it was but the wind got SO crazy it sounded like a freight train hauling ass past our house. The next morning it was just leaves everywhere? I was confused but scared

      I actually experienced one of the worst tornado outbreaks when i was just 7. March 2 2012. Cincinnati and kentucky had really bad weathers issuing 2 ef4s and many ef3s, 1 ef3 being just west of me, another being just south of me. I remember that day. All the lanterns we got. The purple on the TV everywhere. I just sat right down onto my bed freaking out. It was black as night outside and i was just cuddling with my pets panicking hoping to live. At one point that day, there was even a big tornado that looked like it was gonna hit us. My dad got a matress out because we had like a den under our stairs and we were about to go under there when the storm had passed without hitting me! That day will forever be the sacriest day of my life.

A tornado warning.. Then morphed back to sws then tw and tornado warning and at night they cancelled it. And after dat day I felt so nauseous I puked in the toilet 2-5 times and never forgot it

    I live in Wisconsin, and the storms here get horrible. About two years ago, two twin tornadoes touched down seven miles from the town I live in. It happened really late at night, but no sirens went off to warn about the storms. One touched down in the middle of downtown, in the center of the four busiest stop lights. Here, a tree fell on my cousin/neighbors house and trapped them inside. Than, last summer, straight line winds happened while I was at my grandfather's house. My aunt, who has her room in the attic, rushed down and hunted down all the pets when the sirens went off. We were in the basement for 15 minutes. A tree was pulled out of the ground and missed my grandfather's house by a few feet. Power lines were down everywhere, and all the trees in the park fell. One just missed the play ground. One tore down the fence to the basket ball court and tore down the basket ball hoop. Luckily, none hit the water tower and siren, which are at that Park. It was scary

      @MichaelLoudenTV23  8 лет назад

      Yikes! That is scary. Most of the time when the storms cross Lake Michigan they weaken and aren't as strong. The worst we have ever had around here is downed trees. Although one time we did have a tornado touch down a few miles from my parents house and their was no warning and no sirens. It threw limbs and garbage into Richland after the storm.

    • @spvcekitt3305
      @spvcekitt3305 8 лет назад

      Yeah. Platteville was without power for 12 hours. On the storm here, the power didn't go off at my grandfather's, but my house was without power. Three more storms blew through after that. My parents were both away, so my grandmother let me use her phone to call my mom at work. My mom got my dad, and the first thing that came out of her mouth was, "This is more than straight line winds. This had to be at least an EF1 tornado". I will never forget the fear I felt while trying to get my aunt, grandfather, and younger sister into the basement during that storm. I'm glad it's winter now, when storms aren't as likely to happen.

    • @MichaelLoudenTV23
      @MichaelLoudenTV23  8 лет назад

      +Ash_Star123 I think the longest we were without power was about 12 hours as well and then it went out a couple of hours later and came back on a few hours after that. This happened when a storm moved through this summer. We were watching TV for the weather and then the power went out and the sirens went off afterwards. We then ran for the basement and at the time we building a bookshelf. I am glad we don't have to deal with storms like that in he winter. I hope the snow stays away and El Niño keeps us warm.
