Just got one for Christmas. Love it. Use it for small and quick jobs- great for cutting drywall, nails, etc. I have a larger corded recipro for bigger jobs.
And low noise. I have several bosch 12v tools and also milwaukee 12v fuel drills and the millfuckee is so loud and heavy compared to the bosch stuff. Ya the milwaukee is a bit faster but this isnt formula 1, if it takes a couple seconds longer to drill a hole or screw a screw its ok.
I found it interesting that the scoring on the rotor laminations was in line with the balancing hole. I wonder if the drill pushed up a burr and it ended up catching in the motor housing? That would be my theory
I have a Bosch sander that was made in Switzerland. Also have an Black and Decker sander that's made in England! The good old days. Don remember them being expansive.
You are right about the high friction bearing that could be better, but it is not that bad when properly lubricated i think. Needle bearing at 3000 rpm with the repetitive impacts, i am not too sure....a more suited solution would be maybe a plastic bushing (like igus makes) pressfittted inside a metal shell.
would love to see an m12 hackzall teardown for comparison. I have a feeling that milwaukee cuts corners, despite generally being more powerful, would like to see if that's true.
Nice teardown. I bought that saw when it first came out and I've never liked it because the stroke is too short to be useful for anything other than thin materials. I was glad to see that the gearbox was not plastic though, it looks like a well built tool.
Thanks for the kind words. He says he’ll either replace the motor or keep this one for parts. He already bought another one because he liked this one so much.
I just had a look on aliexpress and these motors are selling for around $10usd shipped. Definitely worth replacing considering everything else still looks in excellent condition.
@@lomparti No, I bought mine from Amazon UK almost two years ago, but like I have already said, it does not use the same battery as the North American models.

So nice to hear an excellent and knowledgeable discussion. Well done!
Very nice. I love the Bosch 12v lineup. Plenty of power and low weight.

I have one of these. Put it through the paces for a week after hurricane Harvey in houston. It performed admirably.

I had also noticed the gouge lining with the balancing hole and wondered something similar. It’s not a bad guess.

i bet when you walk in to a car dealership, they cringe they ask you questions, great work
6:44 Can you tell me the brand name and part number of the grease that you used? or that you would use?

Been using mine to cut holes in plasterboard. It stopped working, took it apart and the grease had turned to clay where the dust had got in.
Teardown an m12 fuel hackzall. I'm curious to see how they compare.

I just bought this one but I don't understand why BOSCH didn't use an EC brushless motor instead.
i have this tool and i have a problem with blade that stocked inside. Cant just twist the rigng and pull the blade. Any advices boss? :D
I need to remove the worm gear thats attached to the motor shaft to replace that small bearing right under the gear. How do I remove the worm gear?
I have the same reciprocating saw that I bought as a bare tool, but I bought two 12v 4Ah batteries instead.
bosch has a nice 12v line. i own a drill driver from them and i like it a lot
Awesome video. Do you think you could check out a Ridgid 18v brushless tool at some point?
Thanks. That’s a good suggestion. I’ll keep it in mind.
Almost identical to Milwaukee in and out, was it difficult to remove motor from gear mechanism? No one has filmed this part
Someone in asia put it together.. Im sure you can figure out how to take it apart bud.
it's a Milldoggy !!!
I will check and see that my Bosch batts fit mine
Embree Smith no they don’t fit. The base is different and the polarity is different.
I really enjoy your channel. Is the owner replacing the motor?

Are you going to replace the motor that you cut open?? !!
Your voice is very unique and intriguing. for some reason I picture and you look like Rick Moranis via 1983
i know this is a strech. but one day you chould check out one of panasonics cordless tools
I’ve heard good things about Panasonic, but their tools sure seem rare in the U.S.
Great review! Thanks!
Thanks for the kind words.
Thanks.
Saw the pic and I was hoping it was the Bosch chainsaw that AvE had (Easycut 12). But it looks like that's still exclusive to Europe :(
The EasyCut 12 will probably never be available in North America because it uses a different battery and is homeowner grade.
@@Pro1er Are you guys still living in the stone age? That box cutter can be easily purchased online (ebay) from anywhere in the world.

Anyone know how to dissassemble the blade lock?
It's an exact clone on the outside of the Milwaukee M12 Hackzall.... who made it first
I was going to say the same thing.
Chris Mitchell I looked into it. Milwakuee made it first and licensed the design to bosch
Except that actually it isn't. I have both. And the bosch is fully variable, while the Milwaukee jumps from mid speed to full speed.
Rotors are balanced in that way.

I don't love ads, but I have to buy all the equipment to make the videos and the tools I review. Without ad revenue this channel wouldn't exist.
