  • It has all the same hardware as the other N cars, but when you put all of that into the Kona platform, magical and crazy things happen.

I have one. Black. You need to have Both Hands on the steering wheel any time you’re on the gas and in N mode! I found that out early on. Also this thing is amazing how the rear end will drift out on hard cornering. Feels like I’m driving a rear drive car! Also saw a video about the torque steer. Evidently Hyundai was going to reduce torque steer but, focus groups they questioned said they wanted it, and wanted the bouncy ride! So I’m nearing 70 years old driving a car built for 20 something’s and I LOVE IT🎉

For 36 years my performance oriented daily drivers have been manuals. I vowed to never own an automatic until I drove this car and I was sold on the dual clutch. It's brilliant in this application. There are complaints about the higher ride height but for me it was a selling point. It get's me to my trail heads (Mt biking) without worrying about ground clearance. In the softest suspension mode, it is still a little stiff but not punishing. The build quality is excellent and despite the "cheap" interior, its well put together and solid. This is my first Hyundai and so far I am impressed. Luckily the transmission recall did not apply to my particular car. This is a very fast and capable machine.

This car is very fun, the torque is actually what makes it fun in my opinion, I have one with the racing red exterior as well. In N mode this car stays very planted to the ground even in colder temperatures, just throw on some good snow tires and this car is very daily driver friendly even in the winter. Previously drove a MK 7.5 GTI pure white 7 speed DSG. The Kona N is the sweet spot in this segment. But if you enjoy being lower to the ground I’d recommend the Elantra N, really your choice; I just wanted something stanced a bit higher because we have rough roads where I live.

The delivery is much different in the Hyundai. It’s crazy and very fast. I felt it was as quick as my old golf R. It might not be but it feels fast. The golf r feels dull compared to the kona.

@@sophiawoods6748 It is as fast as a Golf r if it hooks up and has premium fuel.I have a ZL1 and an AWD Stinger GT and this is almost as quick as both of those under 150 MPH--I also have this as a daily driver and can beat many cars costing a lot more.I took mine to 157 on a toll road that i run my ZL1 on and its about 20 MPH under that--but the ZL1 on a cool day is in supercar teeritory

This nearly killed me twice 😂 I nearly went into a showroom due to torque steer. Definitely unhinged and must be tamed. I say before you go crazy just learn it’s unhinged driving character.

I love this red, and I also love that in this color, they eliminate the red stripe along the skirts. I'm really hoping that they keep the N for the new 2024 model. If I could have bought one last year, I would have. Now that I've seen some pics of the updated model, I can't see myself "settling" for this version, which I like the look of, just not as much.

Got mine last April. Researched the hell out of it...
I love mine.. Lunar white.. I do try to use normal mode when driving on long roads or longer distance. Cause it does eat gas.
But I got mine Deadpool'd out... Got my red under glows. Deadpool door lights. Decals, maximum effort decals. All the Ns are red/black. Even the changed kona badge in red/black. Got red lines under headlights and rear black side accents, blacked out logo, Buddy of mine named it The Chimichanga! Lol I said you know what sounds good.
So Ima get the lettering for the windshield but the N in Chimichanga Ima try and get the font from all the other Ns around the car.

I still love my 2020 VN. No extra tech...I have to pay attention to my driving...which is a good thing. I probably have about as much cargo room and the Veloster N was the first N to market in North America. 6MT of course...there is no substitute for a manual.

@@ShiftingLanes Thanks for the reply. I have a 2022 DCT and love it, but I have been considering trading it for a KN to get a hitch and some more space for outdoor activities. I had a third beater car but had to get rid of it!
