Wow, I'm gonna have to watch this 1 million more times - thank you to the original poster!! Even the old Stanton banners in the background are cool, representing the different pre serato era - in a way so much has changed but then again nothing has - if you want to be considered a real DJ, you have to be at this level of juggling and tour de force showmanship!!
Q Bert's solo jam in this video is just amazing...I must have watched it 500 times and it still sounds amazing...Even when he makes a mistake or the needle jumps, it still sounds better than my best efforts.
oooooooohhhhh shit. why i wasn't here in 97?! cause i just discover scratch world...1 years after i saw i.s.p. in bologna and i didn't understand nothin...but after that i start study
always thought swift was a bit sloppy on the cut , nice guy but just a bit sloppy , just my opinion as a uk ex scratch dj, supreme from hijack should have entered that year here won would have just burned allcomers. was the most innovative uk dj at the time and definatly the most aggressive technical scratcher. the guy was a scratch monster. used to study his cuts no end and try figure that shit out.
hands down the most nerve racking thing is doing a live scratch routine and knowing you got bouncy needles. All these "PURISTS" who don't even DJ talking mad ish about control vinyl have know idea how hard it used to be, I say all the time, it used to be brutal..
What a waste of time! The only one that ever should have won a championship was Cash Money! He actually had a career, the rest of them are jokes. Stealing stuff from Cash,Jeff, and 50 other real Dj’s
DJ Q Bert kill it with that free style scratch dope old school style 👍😎 R I P Roc Raida 🙏 n thank you
Não sabia que Roc Raida tinha morrido.Descanse em paz grande DJ
I’ve watched this countless times and am amazed every-time I see it again
for me cash money was the best hands down with the best set and kept it in rhythm.
This crowd witnessed a gathering of legends and they couldn't have been more indifferent.
Im pretty sure the majority were vacationing at the resort.. but then again, this is before people new how to react to this level of DOPENESS.
One love for real DJs
Noize was pretty clean out of all of them.
Seeing Qbert at the Summit is what made me want to ever get a turntable in the first place like 14 years ago. He is sick here!
YES ! have this on VHS. one my favorite scratch vids ..

Swift had improved massively here since his DMC win.
♥ .
They talk shit through their mixing.
LL Cool J - BAD
00:01:15
Verdeiro DJ sem controladora e serato
those decks were horrible. that's a main problem when djaying at an event without your own gear. you never know how the eqipment will be.
They were standard Technics no?
hands down the most nerve racking thing is doing a live scratch routine and knowing you got bouncy needles. All these "PURISTS" who don't even DJ talking mad ish about control vinyl have know idea how hard it used to be, I say all the time, it used to be brutal..
So the new equipment stops the needles skipping nowadays?
It was the Stanton needles. Everyone used shure m447.
: )
Boo!
I like q bert but he just so one dimensional as an dj tho.
His one dimensionalism created many scratches that people are still trying to learn. He’s a turntablist . Watch isp vs X-men
What a waste of time! The only one that ever should have won a championship was Cash Money! He actually had a career, the rest of them are jokes. Stealing stuff from Cash,Jeff, and 50 other real Dj’s
You literally have no knowledge about djs.
This suck! Wow DJing has come a long long way since 1997.
bait/10
Idiot
Keep taking the meds.
