It will last the test of time the rav4 hybrid but what you aren’t getting in the rav 4 is the technology that’s where it lacks and interior isn’t premium but that wasn’t Toyotas focus. You get less but you get Toyotas stellar reliability at the end of the day. That’s why people buy them. If you don’t care for awesome tech or a premium interior go for the rav4

Definitely liking these Tucson Hybrids over their gas counterpart (much like the RAV4). I would surmise this press Tucson looks to be the same one Kirk K tested recently too because he's just down in Naples. Skip the Limited and go for the SEL Convenience Package, but like many other cars, the THs are hot and many dealers are marking them up.
@@EpicDrew15 You're not reading it right. What I said is between the Tucson Hybrid and gas model, the hybrid is the better one to get. Hey Joe and Lori, and also the Raiti's Rides family, how are y'all doing today? 😁 So today review is about the "modern, sleek, futuristic, hybrid" Compact crossover SUV or "Hyundai's strange, bold SUV". But besides the styling, it's a hybrid with around 180hp, 6-speed automatic (no cheap CVT), and 38 mpg with a nice interior (which in this case is white). Ok, besides all of that, what is your favorite hybrid or non-hybrid Compact crossover SUV and why is it? 🤔 (Like how I said before, Kia make some of the better looking vehicles and Hyundai make the more "modern" vehicle, like how I said before I would love a Kia exterior, with a Hyundai interior, but that basely why Genesis exists) (Besides of me talking about the styling, (that's actually alright) and "Like always *ON* *THROTTLE* ")
@ 8:10 did you just say 36MPG on the Highway???? How come I’m only getting 25MPG on the highway??? The heater is not even warm enough. I got this toy brand new “2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Silver” on 07.15.22. It took me 7 months to order this toy. I live in Anchorage, Alaska and one thing I’ve noticed, the heater was not warm enough. I called the dealership here in Anchorage, Alaska the “Lithia Hyundai of Anchorage” and address the issue, they said…. Everything looks good and the heater looks okay! But it takes forever to warm up! Plus it takes a lot of gas/ fuel to use the heater. I used to own a 2016 Kia Optima fully loaded before I traded in to this Hybrid Hyundai Tucson. It has a better gas mileage on the highway compared to this hybrid. From Anchorage to Fairbanks is 6-7hrs drive and I still have a 25% left on the tank versus this hybrid I had to fill up the gas tank when I reach to Healy. I decided to record it and I was only getting 25MPG on the highway and my heater was turned off!!! I’m very DISAPPOINTED because this is not what I expected. I thought I can save some gas on this hybrid, I guess not but other than that I am happy with the style and looks especially the cockpit and the panoramic sunroof/ moonroof. Perfect viewing for Northern Lights at night. It looks modern, classy and luxurious compared to RAV4 that looks industrial. Plus the angel wings lights on the front. It gets a lot of attention!!! Love it!
We'd like to order a Tucson Hybrid 2022 or 23 if need be, when will we be able to test drive and check it out so we can get those wheels in motion and the vehicle in my drive!?
Thanks for the great review! Really considering this vehicle. Does this Hybrid have a "auto stop / start" feature? I mean, a button that you can push that allows the engine to shut off while stopped? I know its a Hybrid and the engine will be off in certain conditions but I'd sure love an "EV Button" or an "auto stop / start" button. Anyone know?? Thanks?
You don't need auto start/stop with a hybrid, nor is it 'ideal' on many vehicles. The gas portion of the engine will always turn off when it is not needed, which in warm weather is almost every time you are coasting or stopped. Gas engine stays on in colder weather as battery not working as well and it is a source of cabin heat. Major source of wear and tear on cars is starting and stopping engine, so not always a great idea to have this feature depending on engine configuration. Speaking of cabin heat, hybrids take about 2x as long to come up to comfortable temp in cold weather in my experience, like below freezing type temps.
@@802asher I beg to differ. Firstly it is not 1971, stopping and starting does not induce more "wear and tear". These cars are designed to stop and start... actually a hybrid stops and starts all the time. I have also found out on the manufacturers website that "yes" there is a "stop/start" feature on these hybrids. Some hybrids also have an "EV" button for a temporary EV mode.
I love this guy!!! The food analogies are the best. I pick up my Tuscon luxury hybrid in a few days and can't wait. There's a huge waiting list in my area for the 22 and the 23 model. Looking forward to a quiet cabin and saving some money at the pumps. All that extra gas money I'll be saving will get me some deep fried oreos!!!
@Varun Sethi it's definitely quiet...but only when stopping. Sometimes at a drive thru window I think my car is off! Good power too. I like a little zoom so it's satisfying
Thats why they give you a big warranty-because they know the big problems ahead-high pressure GDI-no good-when I think of Hyundai I think of Rodney King being pulled over in LA back in 1991-of course he was driving a Excel
I see this same appalling mileage, 28 mpg, nearly 10 mpg short of the EPA's estimated mpg, reported by _Car and Driver_ testing as by some of that magazine's readers [Joe Lorio, "Tested: 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid aids mileage and performance", _Car & Driver,_ 22 Dec 2021].
This is a beautiful review as always Joe. We get this exact model in Australia but unfortunately, we actually don't get the hybrid???? So annoying for beautiful car🙄. I own one 2 ltre petrol engine. Beautiful car that gets glances at parking lots and traffic stops but it drinks a lot in petrol 😭
I love the new Tuscon! I saw one on the road the other day and their daytime running lights looks phenomenal! Reminds me of angel wings. Definitely can tell it apart from other SUVs in the class. I love how the Korean brands are being innovative with their design language and off the wall technology! I don't mind the touch capacitive buttons at all. It looks very responsive and quick to use, just like a smartphone. The geometric lines on the side kind of reminds me of the Lamborghini Urus. I definitely take this over the Honda CRV in a heart beat..The CRV looks like a bloaded shrunken minivan too me. And their interior and tech is getting very long in the tooth and outdated. The Koreans are definitely coming for blood and I'm here for it!
I love mine but it is not a fuel sipper It's not aweful but not what they say. Just thought I would let you know. Love everything else about it though. It's my baby 😂😂 It's definitely an adult playtoy. Love this review.
Impressive. I really liked the interior, not a very fan of gloss black all over the places. However it integrated really well. That big screen in the middle is nice! Hyundai is stepping up and (trying to) keep attractive prices. Not very common nowadays.

I beg to differ.
In a body like this I'd put a v6 or at least a 2.OL turbo it's more useful and makes more sense
Dang. The other day I was running a race with my daughter, , , and damn if I didn't pull one of my "hammies." 🤣
Hi Raitis can you make 2022 explorers
Sure will Wilber!
does this have wireless apple car play?
Need this for my courier business
I've seen this car here in South Africa. How to recharge it? Does it recharge itself by its petrol engine?
You are spot on.
Very interesting, could replace my Acura RDX...
I’m getting mine next week. How do you like it so far ?
@@varun576 it's really great! You'll love it! Roomy, great ride and tons of features
@@saracusenza4657 awesome. Thx for the feedback.. I’ve never had a hybrid before.. I’m just a lil concerned with it being too quiet… lol
@Varun Sethi it's definitely quiet...but only when stopping. Sometimes at a drive thru window I think my car is off! Good power too. I like a little zoom so it's satisfying
My first hybrid too. I came from a Mazda cx5 which I loved. This is much roomier and comfortable
Resale value RAV4, ingenuity and cool Tucson. Dated CRV. Problem is availability!
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the annoying reverse noise that’s government mandated.
Joe, you couldn't get a Plug-in (PHEV)?
I love how all the compartments in the cars he shows are reserved for snacks.
Can you review the plug in hybrid one next?
How does this fair against the peugeot 3008?
Nice you compared to the crv, meaning the rav4 still stand over both of this vehicles
Awesome as always on throttle!!!
And awesome on the camera work too Lori!
CHICLAYO PERU 🇵🇪 SIR JOE RAITIS 👍
You are the man Will!
@@RaitisRides yes man
My wife Is OBSESSED with this car
Thats why they give you a big warranty-because they know the big problems ahead-high pressure GDI-no good-when I think of Hyundai I think of Rodney King being pulled
over in LA back in 1991-of course he was driving a Excel
That is very interesting Chris.
I really like this car for traveling but not for a daily.
Why not for daily driving? You got good fuel economy won’t be stopping at the pump for more fuel. It’s perfect for all around stuff
How does the fuel economy become only 28 mpg [10:26]?
I see this same appalling mileage, 28 mpg, nearly 10 mpg short of the EPA's estimated mpg, reported by _Car and Driver_ testing as by some of that magazine's readers [Joe Lorio, "Tested: 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid aids mileage and performance", _Car & Driver,_ 22 Dec 2021].
this a very looking SUV in and outside, really liking the infotainment screen size and them giving you ventilated seats, very nice at this price
It's the car of the year. Best bang for the buck by far. I have the 2022 Tucson Ultimate PHEV and couldn't be happier.
Hyundai all the way. Awesome review Joe and Laurie on camera.
Thanks for being the best John!
love this SUV but dont love the $10k markups dealers are putting on them!
I’m so jealous that you live in Florida. I can’t stand living here in cold Canada
Come down anytime!
looking to buy one!
The current CRV dash looks and feels like a Fisher Price.
7:10 Are we not gonna talk about the regular incandescent bulbs for the rear turn signals? ZONK!
It's common to all vehicles.
Funnel Cakes in the side pockets😂😂
Thanks for the review, but I wish YOU would answer the questions in your titles! :P You drive so many of these, so your insight and opinion would be valuable. Why withold it? Mystery? It makes your videos more like ads/overviews for the car, than any kind of review. Plus it feels a little click-baity to title all your videos like that and NEVER answer the question. Just some honest feedback, because I like your style overall...just want some more meat! :P
Does Lori laugh off screen (or fight laughter) at some of the things you say? 😂😂
HAAWWWWWWT THROTTLE!!!! Love it
thanks
I love the look the tech and interior…but not in long term car
has anyone seen the leaked image of the refreshed Palisade? 🤤
Makes me wanna consider this over any car in its segment :0 Will you review the Ferrari Purosangue?
Way nicer than a cr-v, hopefully Honda steps it up in the redesign.
Reliability, the question is Reliability. CRV is known for its reliability. No doubt Tucson is way more stylish than CRV..
Check out on jd power why Hondas reliability is at the bottom
Watch out of Oil dilution with the CRV. I'm not sure if they fixed that issue tho. I was considering one but changed my mind.
@@darkivaz-aaa1145 whoever relies on JD power doesn't know anything about reliability
@@vsrap71 JD power is real owners rating their cars. I guess you like old men giving you reliability bias status from CR
