I've owned one of these for the past 7 months and all I can say is this vehicle is fantastic. I have a 6 month old and 2 dogs and this SUV is more than capable. I've been a longtime ford fan and this went well over my expectations! Also the price.... Kia is absolutely killing it, I felt like I robbed them.
@Daniel Caponera While that is true, I would say all Toyota's are like that. But I would of had to spend an extra 8K here in Canada to obtain the same features I currently have with my Sportage. Plus I can't complain about a 10 year powertrain warranty.

My dad picked up an X-Line in Sapphire Blue. I've been driving it more than my WRX 🤣 The sport mode is well tuned and the engine sounds meaty. It doesn't feel heavy and the body roll is surprisingly low. Lane keep assist is just mindblowing. Love everything about it!

I like the styling of this generation. It’s definitely eye catching and doesn’t look like anything on the road today. If I was buying one it would definitely be in this color. It looks good on this one

I have the 2023 XPro Prestige (top trim) same color, Matte black rims, fully blacked out roof (Range Rover style) with the mint/sage green seats to match. It’s a awesome, comfortable, teched out vehicle. Smooth and pretty quick as well. I Reccomend it to anyone. It also gets a decent amount of attention because of how it stands out.
My Sportage X-Line is scheduled to arrive on 5/21. When looking for a car ... Kia was #3 on my list but after seeing this video ... it moved to #1. I had a 2019 Honda CRV that was stolen and was going to replace it with another CRV. After seeing the new KIA ... that CRV is in the stone age. Can't wait to be a Kia owner.
I have that exact one! I test drove it and as soon as I got in the vehicle I already knew I was going to get it! One super happy customer I never knew I would buy a Kia till this car came out. I get a lot of head turns and pointing fingers. I love ❤️ love ❤️ love my new car!
I love this new sportage! Not only is it class leading in cargo room and passenger room but also very distinctive not to mention the tech that most vehicles in this segment that don’t offer. However I think I would love to see the DRL’s were also the turn signals because honestly that would look really cool but then the whole headlight setup is different enough. The luxury is pretty decent or even better than it’s competitors and thank god a CVT was not added which a lot of the competitors do. Great review Joe excellent as always, keep up the work!
After a year checking cars (special thanks to you for helping), the way the inside looks and feels amazed us. We pre ordered one and can’t wait to enjoy it. Everybody just say “toyota” but Kia is doing an amazing job! Hopefully it’s a reliable one. Big thanks for your funny and professional videos!
Smart choice! They are surprisingly great vehicles and have a ton of standard features that even the overrated Rav4 and CRV offer. Please make a video when y'all get it :)
Probably wont be quite as reliable and trouble free as a comparable Honda, Toyota or Mazda, but about the same or better than anything from Nissan, GM and Ford. I do gotta say the rear seat amenities are second to none among affordably priced, non premium badge crossovers. Some real thought went into the design...especially the "hooks" on the back of the headrests where you can hang a tablet (with a holder that has a strap, if one doesnt exist I will design it and make millions😁) and plug it in to usb on the seatbacks themselves. Big kudos for that solution!
I ended up getting the SX Prestige Pro AWD in Black! After additional warranties out the door I think it was 43K. But I’m covered for everything and anything that could go wrong. One of the best cars I’ve ever owned 🙌🏻 Kia has outdone themselves again!!

We bought ours last week and have put half about 1000 miles on it already. We love it. Our back passengers were blown away by the space. The front tech is awesome and the simplicity of the tech is by far the best to anything comparable. I’ve only seen a couple others on the road as our local dealer has sold out of each order within 48 hours of getting each bundle. Watch out the New Sportage is the real deal.
So frustrated with all of the trim options but lack of cross customization. Some of the nicer interiors are only available for the lower models. Would love the black white combo outside with light grey and black interior.
I took an Uber the other day and rode in this car. Very impressed with the quality and was upset with myself that I had not considered it when I bought my CX-5. Great review but I miss you mentioning how many Twinkies in the center console.

Kia/Hyundai a really upping their game. this will seriously undercut the RAV4 and CRV which cost a great deal more. They are pursuing a winning strategy of giving the customer more for less. This is how you gain marketshare. Korean products are becoming excellent.
We recently got one for our son, who loves it. One feature that should have been included at this price point is front parking cameras or sensors for parking.

I went to pick up my 2016 sedona, and the sales guy convinced me to upgrade to the 23 sportage. I was nervous about my kids not having enough room. however my kids fit great, and have plenty of room. I love the AWD I love the wolf gray color that mine is. and my infotainment system is to die for 🥰

Joe! My man! How could you mention the hooks for the USB cables on the seatbacks but forget to feature the coat/purse hangers built into the back of the front two headrests? When my wife and I saw the reviews for the production model in Asia a few months ago, she said, "I NEED THAT"! I know you're in Florida and everything but those of us in NYC (and everywhere else North of the Masie-Dixie) wear sweaters in the spring/fall and big puffy coats in the winter. And the ladies carry those big honkin' bags year-round. Now...no more designer bags on the floor. No more wrinkled suit jackets. No more sweaters that slide off the back seat onto the back floor when I take a turn too hard. This is a great vehicle and that's a small but extremely convenient feature.
Depending on what trim level you get, youll get that full LED in front and back. They just need to add that digital cluster to the K5 and add AWD(GT), and update the Rio/forte and they’ll be on top of it.
Ayee I finally get to see this car in the channel. Barely picked this up late March and honestly its been so amazing 😅. I have a blue sapphire sportage sx prestige and couldn't be more happy about let let alone get it at msrp!
The real question you should ask is if the Kia Sportage is better than the Honda CRV. Hyundai Tucson is better than the RAV4 all around especially with their new reliability status it got.
The RAV4 is doing something right seeing that it always outsells the Sportage and Tucson! Kia/Hyundai fanboys are always on here forcing folks to like these overstyled cars!
Love the redesign Joe! But knowing me, I’d go top trim with all the goodies 😃. Like the larger wheels too. I drove an LX with 17 inch wheels and 65 series sidewall tires and it felt like I was riding on balloons. Love the review. Great job!
I purchased the Xline in wolf grey 2 weeks ago. Man it looks incredible inside & out! Unfortunately, I’ve been having issues with wheel balancing, it shakes over 50. Had the dealer try to fix it to no avail. I will definitely swap this out for another - that should be interesting.
I’d you’re still having issues I’d suggest having all 4 tires road force balanced. It’s a diagnostic way to test the way the tires are mounted to the wheels and it will get rid of ALL vibration.
I just ordered this, the only thing im worried about is the engine, will the 187 hp enough without the turbo for this sized suv? I have not got chance to test ride it. Im assuming its not as much underpowerd just like i had my 2015 nissan rogue, i felt like the engine was too small for that. 170 hp And this one is just 17hp more
I like my 2021 CX-5 Carbon edition turbo better, only because the engine is 250hp and 320 lb/ft torque. I like everything about this newest Sportage, but they should offer an optional turbo engine for the people that want more than 187hp.
@@DarkJediChrisG-1425 just because they have pretty lights on the dashboard and BS electronics doesn't make it a good car. Mechanics and reliability make a good car. Kia isn't on par with totyota or mazda in those areas.
This is a nice redesign. The back of the vehicle should get a zunk. Because the lower part of vent does look awful. Other then that I'm not completely sold on this model.
You forgot to mention Vw Tiguan though. 😅 2022 model is quite competitive and classy. Much refined engine/ transmission handshake and driving dynamics. 😊
I got one yesterday, it’s not as “compact” as I thought. I chose it over the Sorento once I saw how large it is now. And it felt like a spaceship when I drove it last night. Lol. I’m hoping the resale value is better than my old optima.

@jgonzaga23 air curtains on automobiles are the vents in front of the front wheels for aerodynamic air flow. They cool brakes and minimally improve gas mileage.

My mom just picked her X line Sportage up today and my jaw fell to the floor at how amazing this SUV looks! All the bells and whistle’s are absolutely breathtaking.
I think the Ford Edge ST, is better choice, for me anyway. It’s Better on power delivery, and drivability. From all the SUV that was mentioned on this segment!! I almost went with CX 5 Mazdas. But changed my mind, when took both SUV, ( Ford Edge ST. & Mazda CX 5 Turbo). on a test drive.
I just got my Sportage SX Prestige in Sapphire Blue 2 weeks ago, and I am loving it!! I am just happy I was able to get one in the color I wanted with the features I wanted, as the dealerships in my area can't seem to get these in, and what they do have are just the X-Line models.

I have to say, i have been getting quite impressed with KIA and their redesigns. There was a point a long while back where i wouldnt want a kia due to massive engine troubles from other owners, but i believe they have taken care of all that. They are really doing a good job on their cars.
@@imdone1967 its like the RAM truck fiasco back in the mid 90’s they had some horrible years same with in 2000. A few bad years and somehow those years stuck regardless the issues being fixed, the bad couple of years stuck and made it seem like every year was a bad year and it wasn’t. Of course there are still quality issues, but all makers have that problem , ford, chevy, toyota, honda, etc etc. Point is, before buying a car, if past problems were the transmission, them see if they have changed that problem. Sometimes the internet can sound like millions of people, when in face its really only 10 or 20 people.

Just because it has pretty lights on the dashboard and has unnecessary electronics doesn't make it a good vehicle. The mechanics and the reliability make a good car ....not electronic BS...
The rear bumper looks like it would look like a big broken plastic mess if hit in the back. At least they finally took the turn signals and reverse lights out of the bumper and put them up in a safe place and at eye level, where they should be. The rear greenhouse reminds me too much of a Buick Enclave. Nice green.... that's the color I would get, unless they offer a burnt orange.

Just went with my dad to test drive some SUVs. The Sportage and the Rav4. You cannot compare the quality. The Rav4 feels and looks to be sturdier.

The one thing I liked about the Kia Sportage was the 2.0T. Dropping that engine is a significant downside.

I really love the car and I wanna buy one! But my dealers in San Diego are jacking up the price almost $9000 over MSRP even if you Special order it!
The real question you should ask is if the Kia Sportage is better than the Honda CRV. Hyundai Tucson is better than the RAV4 all around especially with their new reliability status it got.

Love the redesign Joe! But knowing me, I’d go top trim with all the goodies 😃. Like the larger wheels too. I drove an LX with 17 inch wheels and 65 series sidewall tires and it felt like I was riding on balloons. Love the review. Great job!

I purchased the Xline in wolf grey 2 weeks ago. Man it looks incredible inside & out! Unfortunately, I’ve been having issues with wheel balancing, it shakes over 50. Had the dealer try to fix it to no avail. I will definitely swap this out for another - that should be interesting.

I’d you’re still having issues I’d suggest having all 4 tires road force balanced. It’s a diagnostic way to test the way the tires are mounted to the wheels and it will get rid of ALL vibration.

We just bought a Telluride and I loved it so much we bought a sportage with the prestige package!
I just ordered this, the only thing im worried about is the engine, will the 187 hp enough without the turbo for this sized suv? I have not got chance to test ride it.
Im assuming its not as much underpowerd just like i had my 2015 nissan rogue, i felt like the engine was too small for that. 170 hp
And this one is just 17hp more
I like my 2021 CX-5 Carbon edition turbo better, only because the engine is 250hp and 320 lb/ft torque. I like everything about this newest Sportage, but they should offer an optional turbo engine for the people that want more than 187hp.

Mechanics and reliability make a good car. Kia isn't on par with totyota or mazda in those areas.
This is a nice redesign. The back of the vehicle should get a zunk. Because the lower part of vent does look awful. Other then that I'm not completely sold on this model.

I got one yesterday, it’s not as “compact” as I thought. I chose it over the Sorento once I saw how large it is now. And it felt like a spaceship when I drove it last night. Lol. I’m hoping the resale value is better than my old optima.
I like the vehicle. I'd consider it with a 4 cyl turbo model. Diggin' the green exterior color.

Loved this Video! So had a deposit down on a Rav4 friends said go look at the new Kia Sportage! Went and test drove the predictive pro! Boom! Later Toyota! Ordering the Kia in Wolf Grey the XLine! Can’t wait to get it! The two screens and panoramic sold me! Ride was much better than Rav! So I agree others should be scared of Kia totally changed my mind! Thanks for this!
I have this exact one and I love it the color gets alot of attention I absolutely love everything about this crossover best one I've had so far . I love the Kia connect and app kia has definitely stepped their game up simply outstanding 👏🏾

Kia has stepped up its game with this new design because you like to be different and a trend setter. The only two things I wish they had were air curtains and power folding mirrors. Great review Joe and Lori! 👍💖

@jgonzaga23 air curtains on automobiles are the vents in front of the front wheels for aerodynamic air flow. They cool brakes and minimally improve gas mileage.

I think the Ford Edge ST, is better choice, for me anyway. It’s Better on power delivery, and drivability. From all the SUV that was mentioned on this segment!! I almost went with CX 5 Mazdas. But changed my mind, when took both SUV, ( Ford Edge ST. & Mazda CX 5 Turbo). on a test drive.

I just got my Sportage SX Prestige in Sapphire Blue 2 weeks ago, and I am loving it!! I am just happy I was able to get one in the color I wanted with the features I wanted, as the dealerships in my area can't seem to get these in, and what they do have are just the X-Line models.
This will be my dream SUV!! Nice job Joe.

I have to say, i have been getting quite impressed with KIA and their redesigns. There was a point a long while back where i wouldnt want a kia due to massive engine troubles from other owners, but i believe they have taken care of all that. They are really doing a good job on their cars.

@@imdone1967 its like the RAM truck fiasco back in the mid 90’s they had some horrible years same with in 2000. A few bad years and somehow those years stuck regardless the issues being fixed, the bad couple of years stuck and made it seem like every year was a bad year and it wasn’t. Of course there are still quality issues, but all makers have that problem , ford, chevy, toyota, honda, etc etc.
Point is, before buying a car, if past problems were the transmission, them see if they have changed that problem. Sometimes the internet can sound like millions of people, when in face its really only 10 or 20 people.

Just because it has pretty lights on the dashboard and has unnecessary electronics doesn't make it a good vehicle. The mechanics and the reliability make a good car ....not electronic BS...
Kia maybe have some nice design but their not that reliable like Toyota and Honda

The rear bumper looks like it would look like a big broken plastic mess if hit in the back. At least they finally took the turn signals and reverse lights out of the bumper and put them up in a safe place and at eye level, where they should be. The rear greenhouse reminds me too much of a Buick Enclave. Nice green.... that's the color I would get, unless they offer a burnt orange.
For that price it offers a lot.
