Short story time. When I was a kid, I brought my console over to my grandma's house to play Sonic Unleashed. I played it in her living room as she and her friend watched. I'll never forget how they commented on how destructive Sonic was as I ran through Rooftop Run, blowing through people's houses and outdoor furniture. So a goverment that wants to contain him because he moves at the speed of sound (Even if it is to save people's property and lives...if you ignore the fact they use a giant semi-truck with saws that goes through builds and tears roads.) is not something he agrees with. After all he is a mobian who likes nature, so why would he care about a city that's meant to block nature out.
I mean, he did get arrested in Sonic Adventure 2, and I love to head canon that him accidentally destroying City Escape was used as evidence against him during the trial. This would at least make Shadow looking like Sonic not be the only reason why he’s in jail! XD

I'd honestly say that ChatGPT underestimated the cost of most of these military drones. Unmanned military drones cost anywhere from around a million to several million dollars. That's not even getting into stuff like jet planes and tanks, which can cost dozens of millions each. I can see teleportation tech by itself costing 60 million dollars easily regardless of what it's attached to, considering an F-16 costs 60-70 million dollars and that jet fighter sure as shit can't teleport.

In regards to cars, the vast majority of Crown Victorias that see taxi service are former police cruisers with their police equipment removed and the rear doors - that can't be opened or unlocked from the inside for obvious reasons - swapped out for the doors on your standard Panther Platform. Crown Victoria, Marauder, Town Car, etc. While every other car could be classed at base-level trim, factor in the starting price of the dedicated Crown Victoria Police Interceptor trim and it could be significantly higher.

I wish I could record myself playing through this level naturally 10 times , and watching back the footage to calc the destruction cost each time, then averaging it out. Then I could see how much damage Sonic causes when I'm playing as him. I'd just have to avoid killing the teleporting drone, since that's a big outlier. I've played through City Escape hundreds of times. Because as a kid, it was a decently prominent thing on youtube to try to beat it in under 2 minutes.

It's the date of Sonic 1's release. Funny enough it wasn't his debut. Sonic debuted in another game as a charm on a rear view mirror (can't remember what racing game it was)
i'm no financial expert, but i do have a couple of criticisms. the height of the crates look to be a little under 2 sonics tall, so i would've used a screenshot of sonic's model like a meterstick (since he is canonically 1 meter tall). also, the metal crates are canonically made of steel according to omochao. finally, i would've valued the golden beetles by comparing the amount of points you get from them compared to the regular beetles. the regular beetles give you 100 points, while the golden ones give you 1000. you valued the regular beetles at 150,000, so i think multiplying that by 10 (because that's the math required to go from 100 to 1000) for a value of 1.5 million per golden beetle would be most appropriate.
Of note, that's a little unreliable, considering how rings are also worth a hundred points apiece. That's either some really expensive rings, or some really cheap mechs.

That is a steep bill but, it doesn't matter. Sonic is hero to the world stopping not only Eggman from holding the world hostage (which he a made public declaration and demonstrated by destroying half the moon) with a planet busting laser, but also stopping the Ark from crashing into the Earth. What is money when he just saved every life on the planet? From where I see it they owe Sonic a debt that they can never pay.

It's the date of Sonic 1's release. Funny enough it wasn't his debut. Sonic debuted in another game as a charm on a rear view mirror (can't remember what racing game it was)
i'm no financial expert, but i do have a couple of criticisms. the height of the crates look to be a little under 2 sonics tall, so i would've used a screenshot of sonic's model like a meterstick (since he is canonically 1 meter tall). also, the metal crates are canonically made of steel according to omochao. finally, i would've valued the golden beetles by comparing the amount of points you get from them compared to the regular beetles. the regular beetles give you 100 points, while the golden ones give you 1000. you valued the regular beetles at 150,000, so i think multiplying that by 10 (because that's the math required to go from 100 to 1000) for a value of 1.5 million per golden beetle would be most appropriate.
Of note, that's a little unreliable, considering how rings are also worth a hundred points apiece. That's either some really expensive rings, or some really cheap mechs.
