2G DSM AWD Swap - Episode 1

- This is the first episode in my series on the AWD swap process of a 2G DSM.
This is my second time doing it, the first being 8 years ago on my car, before I started doing RUclips videos and now for my brother on his car. I learned a lot the first time around so this should be a very smooth and entertaining process. Keep checking in, it will be spread over multiple videos as there is quite a lot of work to do.

Mason Dude there may not be any left by then. They are going extinct. And a lot of them are getting parted out by big shops for profit

Okay so I've got to take the 4G 64 and swap it to the 4g63. then I've got to switch the automatic transmission to the 5-speed awd. please help me what all am I going to need to do this? I know I need the all wheel drive transmission. I have the 4g63t from my GST I parted out. I'm going to watch your videos real carefully. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thanks DSM brother

his black cherry was FWD now AWD so he beat Miguel ages ago. Miguel doing different project now he actually making his awd with the passenger side EVO engine on it so not the same project.

In your experience how hard would you say installing a wideband is and setting it up with a used ecmlink? I bought a new aem one but need to get it setup along with dsmlink in the next few days because my car seems to be running rich since I installed my downpipe and cut the rear o2 sensor...
It depends on your experience. If you can’t cut a hole In the exhaust and weld, it would be better to bring it to a shop. Most would be comfortable installing an o2 bung. Installing the gauge itself isn’t any more complicated than installing a stereo
Headles Norseman already drilled and welded the bung. Also did install my own radio lol. I’m just worried about messing up my car when I install dsmlink and wire it to the ecu. I have a 1999 gsx with a 16g 6 bolt with a blackbox that was already in the car when I bought it
@@Junk_GSX It's literally 1 wire to splice into the ECU, very simple.
Jason Drew's DSM thought I should ask before I attempted it just in case it was more than I could handle. I know the some people go with innovate and that those have a more involved installation. Thanks for replying

That looks like a good shell. Why not keep that.
I showed in the video the towers are rotted and patched, as well as the rockers. My brothers care has zero rust.
