    Jeff - my wife and i have 38 windows to replace so its a huge project. I have been completing a ton of research on windows and just pleased to have obtained all the information that we need from your videos. We love that your not just pushing 1 or 2 brands, but you give your perspective on every window. This has helped us narrow our search from the andersen to the marvin. Although we live in Pittsburgh, we wish you had your business here and we would sign a contract with you ASAP. Thanks for the information.

      Jeff, how do Marvin windows compare to Fleetwood price, quality and value wise? Looking at Coastline or elevate glider by Marvin vs Fleetwood slider 530 T series. Windows will be 36x60

      They are completely different materials and styles. Fleetwood will cost more, for sure.

    Jeff thank you for all of your videos! They've been incredibly helpful as we shop for windows for our home. If I lived in Texas I would certainly buy from you. We're deciding between the Marvin Ultimate and Marvin Elevate and weighing whether the extra cost for the Ultimate is worth it. Aside from the Ultimate's features like the nice lock on the more historic depth and proportions, how do you think the exterior fiberglass will hold up (especially with a dark color) as opposed to the extruded aluminum cladding? We will eventually be buying French Doors as well so that is a consideration between the two lines.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  Год назад

      Thank you for watching and your question. Any of the choices you mentioned will be great and hold up very well in the sun. It's more about aesthetics at that point.
      Good luck.

    I really appreciate all your videos and have watched a good many of them. I would come in and have you guys do my windows but I am in Minneapolis and that seems like a bit of a drive, do you know of any good window shops in the Minneapolis area? Also in your opinion who makes the best wood casement window?

    Looking at whole house window replacement (13 windows). How does this compare to the Marvin infinity? Which would you choose? Thanks.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  4 месяца назад +2

      They are not the same. The Ultimate is a wood window with aluminum exterior. The Infinity is all fiberglass with an Everwood interior option.

    I have a 1940 home and I've had these windows priced in the Bay Area, CA. here's my question: one contractor insists that installing a new construction is the way to go because he can weatherproof better AND he claims the installation of a replacement window (same model) will give us a smaller glazed area because it is replacement instead of new construction. Is that true?

      Here on the west coast, These modern Windows have a lead time of 26-28 weeks!! And majority contractors are telling me that Marvin is prioritizing only its “elite” dealers at this time and it will be a while before these are available for other installers. And surprisingly, I have found only one Marvin installer in the area. Marvin’s rep also confirmed that in the bay area, they only have suppliers and that I’d have to get my own installer. Finding just an installer for Marvin is even harder because no one seems to “just” install windows. All installers I have spoken to so far do the installation only if you buy the windows from them as well. Compared to Anderson or Milgard this is a very different experience for me.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  2 года назад +1

      I'm sorry to hear you're having those issues. I can understand why that is the case because there are very few Marvin dealers in comparison to milgard dealers. Since Marvin is a more expensive product, many window installers are not comfortable installing those products without factory experience. Give them a little more control over the market and that sense.

    Hi there! I wish you were near me, but if i may pick your brain, What brand would you go for a patio sliding door, most importantly, what do you suggest for 72 inch wide 36 inch half round to go over patio slider? Marvin in all fiberglass is 700 dollars cheaper than their elevate series. seems like the radius half circle is very expensive to do in wood. Thanks.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  3 года назад +1

      @bardia fiberglass can't be bent and that's why they had to go with their wood series product. If you want everything to match you will need to fork out the dough.... ;(
      Otherwise, consider a ultra-premium vinyl product. Look for Windsor, Amsco, Sunrise or any other brand that's very well made.

      @@HoustonWindowExperts thank you for the suggestions, im not set on marvin.(its just a dream). I was thinking high end like provia. Unfortunately we don't have those brands near me. The dealers are just installers, so they won't sell to me. thoughts on provia? I know you don't carry it. But im sure there is a reason why you don't. Any reason? Are the other brands you carry better in your opinion? Every thing does seem to be 50 dollars+- from each other at this point.

    Are there storm windows then too?

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  2 года назад

      If you're referring to a window that is installed over the existing window, they do not offer that. The only storm windows they offer are windows that are designed to be in hurricane rated areas that require storm resistant windows. It is a full window unit, not an add-on.

    How would you compare Marvin ultimate series with Windsor Pinnacle ? The Windsor looks more like a true wood window but it is priced with the elevate... Both the Windsor seem to have the same sash to bottom meeting method. (not sure how to technically call it). Windsor has a consealed jambliner, seems to have cleaner weather stripping yet some how The Windsor Pinnacle is not energy star rated. so weird. Also a lot of hate on the internet for Windsor.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  3 года назад
