Just now finding your channel. Carters is an amazing lake and ridgeway is by far the best and safest ramp on that lake. Great fishing on those points right close to the ramp
Here's one of the best sources for walleye fishing in Carters! Straight from the folks who stock'em - georgiawildlife.com/sites/default/files/wrd/pdf/brochures/AnglersGuide_WalleyeFishingGeorgia.pdf
@@TheSilverSurfisher if I can add to that, fish deep channels and points for walleye. Like 30-60 feet in depth. As for the crappie, I typically only fish for them in season when they are all schooled up on structure. You should be able to see them by sonar.
Great video! Willing to share information on where to find and what to use for crappie? I've never caught a single crappie on Carter's lake in 20 years
@@gaugecross3570 I do know on the south side of the lake is a area offshore with standing tree's you can see when lake is low, everytime I take my boat out in the evening a boat is camped on that spot. I always thought Crappie at that spot
What would you suggest a group of PTSD recovery program participants fishing Carters use as bait? We are trying to get a group to go to Carters soon instead of Lanier
Coming from Snellville, GA, don't own a boat . . . where are some productive places with some directions you'd suggest where wife & I can from the shore bank "slip bobber Crappie fish" on Carters Lake? Or, do you think we'd be better off hiring a Crappie-Boat-Guide Service there? What do you think of Lake Nottely in Blairsville for Crappie Fishing instead? Do you have any productive places with directions there for non-boaters? Thanks
The rereg lake below the big lake is free, and there aren’t a ton of boats on it definitely not fiberglass boats because it is shallow in spots. And it has a lot of good fishing in it
@@Hydrayak never heard this logic before but never the less i actually asked the dnr officer that lives across from me to make sure i hadn't missed something and there are NO trout in carters reservoir
@@user-ce5bs4rj4w about 7 years ago I caught a stocker sized rainbow near the dam in Carters Lake. So I've seen it with my own eyes. There are trout in some of the streams that feed Carters. Striper anglers use trout for bait, which often get off the hook and end up living in the lake for years. Look up the Rainbow Trout Lake Lanier record caught by Brook Wheeler in 2019. It was 28 1/2 inches. And every DNR officer on Lanier leading up to that would have told you that there's no trout in the lake. Just because trout are not the dominant species in the lake doesn't mean they aren't there.

Hey thanks for the info, I'll be fishing it this weekend, where is good bank fishing on this lake? I mainly target catfish, but like catching bass too
I know some great spots on that lake for flathead

Oh no a mis-spelling! Nice catch.
