You should have tried swapping Pokemon as Pokemon Trainer to see if it would reset the timer and grant the ability to actually survive out there beyond the wall.
I just tried and it does reset! Squirtle neutralB jump cancel switch Ivysaur upB/sideB switch Charizard neutralB switch You *can* live forever ruclips.net/video/stxzNq0laCc/видео.html
@@pokeli2728 Wait if this also works as Aegis it'd be way easier lmao, but I don't have them to try I was wondering if I could reach a bottom blastzone (or a spike blastzone 👀 but that'd be impossible to coreograph as one person) after you run out of ground off screen
i tested this! swapping between characters *does* reset the ko timer, so pyra/mythra and pokemon trainer can indefinitely stay beyond the border by constantly swapping before the timer reaches zero pokemon trainer is much harder however, there's a time period where they cannot use switch and the ko timer kicks in before they can switch normally. using a special move then immediately trying to switch works, however (using a special move resets pkmn trainer's switch timer!)
Maybe the dev's made it so kirby can't be ko'd during his final smash since he moves around a lot during it, and if he activates it near a blast zone they didn't want him moving into it and dying.
It could also be a side effect of how kirby moves around during it, possibly to repeatedly re-enter and exit the walls and causing the death timer to reset each time
I'm actually thinking Kirby might not even have a normal hurtbox during his Final Smash and the Kirby animation we see are just "fake" models of him. Can't know for sure, but since he would be invincible anyway, it's a possibility.
So about that part at 8:26 Isn't that just because the slingshot does actually have a hitbox, as well as shooting a projectile. So even if projectiles can't spawn out there, the physical hitbox would still exist and could potentially hit someone close enough.
One possibly interesting thing to test with the wall skip: Final Smashes that begin with a cutscene but return to normal gameplay partway through like Pyra and Mythra's.
Fascinating video =) Some things that came to mind: 1) What would happen if you use Banjo's Wonderwing? You're invincible during the move. Are you invincible for the 'past the wall' timer too...? 2) Can you reflect items with either a Franklin badge or a reflect move while outside the wall? 3) Kinda similar to 1) but does a Starman prevent you from dying in the area outside the wall?
"Hey, ya wanna go 3 times the speed of sound past the blast zone on the king of fighters stage using an exploding house? How about 4 times the speed of sound? How about 7?"
I'm thinking maybe you could try this glitch with Kazuya and/or Pythra's Final Smashes, since they do initially start with a cutscene, but then go back into the game almost immediately to trigger the attack
okay you’ve hooked me, what’s gonna happen here edit: Neat! I like this exploration outside the boundaries, I wasn’t expecting Ganon to just not transform, weird.
I think some of the strange interactions with Final Smashes in the KO timer zone has something to with invincibility vs. intangibility. Also, seeing the way Luigi’s Final Smash works in the KO timer area makes my curious on how moves like Kirby/Dedede Inhale and Yoshi’s Egg Lay work.
13:55 i think charizard's fire blasts not appearing is similar to the projectile thing mentioned earlier. the fire blasts are markedly more projectile-like than squirtle's or ivysaur's attacks, so maybe they're just getting deleted since they appear from within the dead zone? then again, other projectile final smashes like mewtwo's worked fine, so maybe there's some more arbitrary distinctions
What about Aegis final smash, where it's a cutscenes and then gameplay? Or G&W's, he grabs people and then leaves. Would that work akin to Luigi's? Other interesting ideas include Rosalina, Mario Finale (it's a projectile, it may not spawn*), Sonic and MegaMan (what happens if the cutscene triggers _after_ he dies?) *That leads to the second point of this comment: Ganon's final smash didn't appear because it's actually a projectile. Notice how Ganon appears again in the same spot when it's finished

I only found this channel a couple of days ago but I quickly binged through the entire backlog of videos, I absolutely love this stuff, it really hits a part of my brain that hasn't been stimulated in years!
Could it be that the KO timer is universal and that's why both Luigi and Isabelle get KOd at the same time? Since the timer runs out when she has already been pulled outside, she goes too.
8:00 I’m pretty sure projectiles or any special effects just aren’t visible in the little bubble that appears when you’re outside of the camera’s view. You can easily see this on a walk off stage. And for the items, it’s possible that they just disappear when coming in contact with the wall, like it does normally. before it can hit the opponent.
I should've clarified that you couldn't even hear the sound effect of the items/attacks working, further adding to the idea that they're sorta disappearing. Like with the bowling ball, usually there's a big thud sound when it lands on the ground, but when you use it out there, just nothing. I definitely think the items/projectiles are disappearing, regardless of whether or not they come into the contact with the wall, though the results may vary
@@Casual_PKBeatsyeah, then they have to be disappearing. I also saw someone say that villager’s slingshot has a normal hitbox, and a projectile hitbox which would explain why it could sometimes hit the opponent, and it would also support the idea that the projectiles are disappearing, though I don’t know much about villager.
Fun fact: by changing the region setting on your Switch, you can see different versions of the English, Spanish, and French translations of the game. Changing it to "The Americas" will give you the American English, Latin American Spanish, and Canadian French versions, while changing it to Europe gives you the British English, Spain Spanish, and France French versions. There's too many differences to list them all here (not so much for English but definitely the other ones xp), but to provide a few examples: • The character referred to as "Duck Hunt" in the American English, Latin American Spanish, and Canadian French versions, is referred to as "Duck Hunt Duo" or a translated version in the European versions. • The Wii Fit Trainers have different accents depending on the region. • The stage called Find Mii in the American English version, is called StreetPass Quest in British English, which lines up with the original game's localized title. • Bowser Jr. is called Bowsy in European Spanish, while the Latin American localization just reuses his English name. • Captain Falcon has the opposite situation in French: in European French it reuses his English name, while the Canadian French version calls him "Capitaine Falcon." • Similarly, the European French version refers to Villager as "Villageois" (♂) or "Villageoise" (♀), while Canadian French uses "Habitant" (♂) or "Habitante" (♀). edit: i just saw that this has been mentioned already, particularly in relation to the Tips section xp still I found it interesting
I just watched the video showing Ganon's final Smash is a projectile before this one, and i think that explains why he doesn't transform when he's in the limbo zone on this stage. All projectiles seem to just get erased out there, so it makes sense his "big ganon" projectile also gets disabled
I found something cool but irrelevant to the video, Kazuya's Rage Drive can be stopped by Pac Man's trampoline if you slam in to it it does 3 things, 1. stop Rage Drive 2. let go of the enemy dealing 5% and 3. break the trampoline (but doesn't put anyone in freefall, had to do more testing with this) I found this by accident on a custom stage but I thought to share this :)

In the footage, the final smash was used while I was playing as Ivysaur. Though, it's possible that the character whose final smash part is missing is the FOLLOWING Pokemon (who would be Charizard), which I neglected to test! It's an interesting idea
@@Casual_PKBeats Could it just be that Charizard's part is considered a projectile, so it fails like the other projectile attacks, while the other parts still carry on due to not being projectiles? I don't actually know if Charizard's part is considered a projectile, it's just my best guess
This is correct, yes. I didn't think of it at the time, but Charizard's Fire Blast is considered a projectile, so that is very likely why it doesn't appear
