Between you and Simon Stanhope I am never without good company. Even when some of your stories overlap you each bring something of your own to these wonderful stories. Each one is worth more than one listen. Thank you!

Ooh, I liked the twist on this one! Probably my favorite Father Brown story so far, although I really liked the one with the "duel," too. The narration is superb, as always.

Thank you, Abigail. It's quite satisfying this one. It's really odd how many more listeners this one has got. Was wondering if the word 'salad' was distorting the algorithm. How many were disappointed not to get a recipe with rocket and tuna?

Thanks again Greg! GK Chesterton's brain certainly worked very differently from Conan Doyle's, and I'm immensely grateful that you have brought the works of both to us in your generous way.

I've always loved this one - the image of Father Brown producing those items one at a time from about his person is just glorious! It made me chuckle again today. Thanks so much Greg, these stories are such a treat.

Thanks Greg! I was wondering if you'd consider one day narrating Chesterton's The Man Who Was Thursday? Talk about a menagerie of uncommon characters and a unique challenge, I would imagine, as a narrator! Just a friendly suggestion!

goodness gracious, I've got company 😊. It's 856a, first day of EDT. , i am still awake, save for a 7 minute micro mini-nap. So very glad for your stories, and your narrations. Oftentimes, the "lullaby voices" on "sleep" apps/channels have the opposite of their intended effect, causing all my senses to be on heightened alert, fully awake.
Happy spring Time.😉 💤 😴 and thanks for the pleasure of your company!

*'gooseberry eyes"* I'll have to remember that one . I bet young folks have no idea what a gooseberry is. I've eaten a few gooseberry pies or tried too! Whew, they are sour even w/lots of sugar. These pies almost gave me lock jaw. The berries do take lovely photographs though. My Gran & even now my 83 year old Mom sometimes still make gooseberry pies. *Anyone here ever tried gooseberries?*

Yes. Gooseberry bushes in my grandparents’ garden. Were they next to the rhubarb patch? I think so.

I'm Czech and gooseberries are very common here. A lot of gardens have two blackcurrant bushes and two gooseberry bushes near the fence. I was surprised at what you wrote, do you know why gooseberries are less common now in Britain?

People don’t grow food in their gardens here as much I’m guessing. We are slaves to the supermarket corporations?

@@sherlock_holmes_magpie_audio Some w/allotments still grow veggies & fruit trees as did my Gran here in the US; all the backyard was garden & all her front yard was flowers. It was wonderful. A homegrown tomato is a taste of heaven & so is a fresh apple right off the tree ...store bought apples are the worst

So this happened yesterday afternoon of course July 13th 2024 I can no longer engage in it all. Everything that comes from it is going to be bloody awful because violence just begets more violence and I'm wondering exactly when will my country learn.
So I'm here because it is an oasis and I am so grateful that you are here. Thank you and bless you, Greg, et al.
    Much love and appreciation💙

Hi Gregg , going off topic here I need to recommend a Sherlock Holmes author who I will say is utterly brilliant, it's on a par with ACD I kid you not ..James lovegrove , his stories are gripping and his attention to everything Holmes is second to none ..if you haven't already please give him a try , I've nearly done them all ..and every single story is a masterpiece..and they are currently free on audible , doesn't have your soothing tone but the narrator does a good job
