these oregon runners are something else. teare has unbelievable control and hocker always finishes like a freight train i can't wait to see these guys as their careers unfold
Would’ve like to have seen copper get the win, but coles kick is nasty, didn’t seem like he really saw him coming. Absolutely ridiculous performance from cole, coming back after winning the mile and winning the 3k is insane.
Cole Hocker runs 7:46 in the 3k less than an hour after winning the mile in 3:53. Absolutely insane. Best of luck to both Cole and Cooper in the Olympic trials.
Cant wait for the trials! Should be very interesting. They should run without any fear because if they don't make it, it wont really matter because of how young they are. Interesting to see if they work together if they both run the 1500.
@Derek Strachan why do you say that as if losing at the Olympics is something to be ashamed of for a 19yo xD It's very possible he can do well at the upcoming 1500m finals. He's better than Centro was at his agr
@@dingle117 Less events than you think, honestly. One medal in the 100, 2 medals in the 200, no medals in the 400, no medals in the 800, no medals in the 1500, one medal in the 5000, no medals in the 10000, no medals in the steeplechase, no medals in the high jump, no medals in the long jump, no medals in the triple jump, two medals in the shot put, no medals in the hammer throw, and no medals in the javelin. Not a medal in the decathlon, either. I think we need to stop praising the U.S. athletes like they're heads and shoulders above the rest, they're really not. On the men's side, they didn't sweep a single event. I could do the women but they didn't do any better really.
Well, Hocker has put the cat among the pigeons. With that finishing speed, when he and Jacob meet, Jacob is going to have to ALWAYS set a fast pace in hope of taking the edge of that finishing kick. It is weird how when great runner emerges and we all go "WOW!" and then - now and again - hot on their heels, comes another one. Roll on the summer!
Cooper definitely did all the work from the front in this race, but I do think its fair here since Cole had just ran a blazing mile an hour before. Cole also had to bleed big time to win this race. These guys are so good. I love how they just run all out, screw the lame tactics. When you are genuinely the best you do a tremendous disservice to yourself when you play into the "tactics" games of running.
Hocker has such respect for his team mate that he does not even celebrate his victory. So impressed by both of them. I hope Teare has some real success this season.
If these two 'team up' at the trials 1500 to make it an honest race to prevent the sit and kick tactical race, I don't think it's unrealistic for them to both run 3:31 - 3:32 and go 1-2 and be headed for Tokyo soon... If it is a tactical race Engels vs Hocker in a sprint over the last 200 will be entertaining.
I'm very satisfied he got the double. 1 HOUR after running sub 4 indoor? And able to win a 3k with how that schedule was? That's great speed endurance. It's clear he has faster foot speed than his teammate, that's why he made the move as late as he did.
Hocker's form is very reminiscent of Seb Coe's somehow. Very little upper-body movement, seems to be running too low to the ground to get great turnover, and yet the feet come way back on the backstride and there is just zero energy loss. And evidently has a final 200 similar to Coe's.
So some NCAA, or other, asswipe arranges to locate a floating linking window over the results table so as to obscure the names of the runners during the final seconds of the video. If one places a cursor at 8:50 of the video play line, one can see that the full results table is there in miniature view; but, someone has obviously decided to obscure it full screen out of laziness or possibly even pique. It could have been placed over the NCAA balloon logo instead of course ... or delayed a couple of seconds ... but, no ...

Definitely. I think coop probably wins if it’s an all out 3k, but Coles kick is Absolutely disgusting in these championship races.

I thought the lactic buildup would get him. Such an amazing double. Legendary!
hocker's got dean karnazes levels of lactic-acid-clearing
I wonder how that conversation goes on the team bus. teare - I lead the race the whole time. Hocker - give me the 1 hour double thank you
That Cole kick is something.
All those pro American runners are starting to be anxious, these young guns are just kicking ass. Those Olympic trials should be pretty interesting :)
Trials on both men’s and women’s sides are gonna be SO good. USA in almost all events are powerhouses. Really exciting for the sport.

Competitive for sure. Would be tough to steal a national championship away from your teammate when you already picked one in a hour earlier.
Fair is fair he earned it period he was faster so he wins that’s how it works.
