I am waiting for this screen and software to be available in other Honda vehicles, such as CRV, Passport and Pilot.

Which US Honda models is this available on?

Will it stop my CRV from being stolen? Currently the thieves are driving them away as fast as Honda can ship them.

Had to thumb this down because the video does not specify what vehicles can take advantage of this feature and because it seems like it is not available for my 2022 CRV Touring!
Please correct me if I am wrong! 🙏

The 2023 Accord Touring is the first Honda vehicle with it

I see exactly zero reasons why this cannot be updated to work on the 2022+ Civic Touring (at least) models.
If you need help Honda, please let me know. I have some coding background.

Well, it's an entirely different software stack now as it's running Android. Would be quite difficult to transition existing systems and risks breaking things.

@@carson9903 it's always been running Android. 10th gen civics for example ran android 4.2. I have to double check but I'm quite sure the 11th gen Civic runs android 5.1. so no, it wouldn't be that hard to implement.

@@RobertoMezquiaJr Well, the 2023 Accord Touring is running something around Android 12 or 13 I would assume. I believe Android Automotive was also only introduced with Android 10 or so. Updating a system across that many generations of Android doesn't seem trivial. Plus, there are a lot of different hardware requirements for newer versions of Android. I would also imagine that the chipset on the 10th and 11th Gen Civics is not very powerful.

@@carson9903 I hope you don't take my comment as me trying to sound smarter than you because I genuinely am curious as to why this won't work on older models. From some research, it appears the 2023 Accord uses "Google Automotive Services" (GAS) which is basically Google apps that get licensed to auto manufacturers. It is not the same thing as Android Automotive like what Polestar 2 has. It's the same as what Chevy has done with adding Google Maps and Google Assistant built into their vehicles directly. Android Automotive is more integrated into the entire vehicle. GAS is just some Google apps.
I'm sure there might be some hardware limitations on the Civic and I know running full Android Automotive requires a much more powerful SOC than what's in the Civic. But the other apps should easily be capable of running on the Civic hardware.
I honestly feel like it's 100% just a licensing issue. And if that's the case, let me pay a few dollars extra to license it so I could use it lol.

@@RobertoMezquiaJr Take a look at the Wikipedia page for Android Automotive (I would send a link but RUclips sometimes flags links as spam). Cars have to run Android Automotive to run Google Automotive Services (GAS). However, car manufacturers can choose to run Android Automotive without GAS (ie., no Google Maps, Assistant, or Play Store). You're probably right about there being some licensing thing, as Google requires a license to pre-load its apps.
Even if the Civic does run a variant of Android (not Android Automotive), the problem is that it's running such an old version that many modern apps aren't compiled for anymore. Also, I'm not sure, but does the Civic even have cellular connectivity?

BE AWARE! HONDA ADVERTISES IT AS IF IT'S A FREE DATA PLAN, BUT IT'S NOT! IT STOPPED WORKING JUST A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER I PURCHASED THE NEW ACCORD. NOW, I HAVE TO SUBSCRIBE TO A MONTHLY INTERNET PLAN WITH AT&T TO BE ABLE TO USE IT.
