The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

I saw Neil Diamond in concert when I was 21 years old. I am 67 and will never forget it. He is absolutely amazing. Holly Holy is my favorite of all his songs. And they are ALL great!

Being a singer-songwriter myself growing up on a.m. gold on the radio in San Diego California I always thought I'd be hard-pressed to pick my favorite song of all time. But here it is.. Neil Diamond's " Holly Holy ". I've heard him in an interview say that this is a "stream of consciousness song".. that you're not even supposed to pay attention to the lyrics. But on this dear Neil I have failed miserably because each one of your words speaks directly into my heart. One of the most beautiful love songs ever written... The emotion in your eyes in this video could move any boat across an ocean.... The whole entire video is exquisite and I am obsessed quite literally. I believe this is my third or fourth post on this song of yours.

This song gives me chills. I've known how wonderful he was - but as I aged forgot just how emotional his songs were.then I watched Midnight Mass the music was so moving in this. I think I have watched it 15 times. Beautiful - moving. We don't get music like this now.

I am completely obsessed with the emotion expressed in his eyes... The set design and the dancers and of course that incredibly beautiful string arrangement... that seems to lift you up. This is my favorite song of all time. Personal thanks to the one and only.. Mr Neil Diamond....

The gospel choir and the violins along with Neil's stunning voice makes this song pure magic. I've always loved this track but I've really rediscovered this gem since watching the Netflix series "Midnight Mass". Mike Flanagan always picks the most epic and unforgettable soundtracks.

The acoustics in that theater were astounding, and added to the live performances. And that dance choreography was spectacular.
It happens that I can listen to the wounderful song "Holly holy", sung by the US- american singer Neil Diamond. I know this wounderful song since my youth days in the 60ties and I very appreciate this song.

I had to hear this song again after seeing the Netflix series "Midnight Mass", as others have indicated. The song, which I had not heard in a long time, has been stuck in my head for a couple of weeks. I don't remember Mr. Diamond doing this on Ed Sullivan. What a great performance.

Neil can command an audience like no other entertainer I've seen. And since the 70s thru the 80s I've seen the biggest bands & solo artists. Neil was absolutely electricfying! Now im a "Believer"! Neil went to NYC to pursue being a Dr. Lawd have mercy thank God he pursued the music career that forever changed his life, and his music was/ is/ will be a huge part of my life!
