Your videos are the absolute best. Being repetitive without being repetitive. your voice is so soothing and you're so good at teaching, Thank you so much!!!
I started following your lessons orally this summer.I am 70 years old. My husband died this year. I think these oral lessons are really going to help. I have taken your course before.
Thank you for all the lessons, Paul. To me, you're the best Spanish teacher I've found on the net. Ana, from "Butterfly Spanish" is right behind you. Your two teaching styles, and organization of your lessons, complement each other. Y'all are the only teachers I choose to learn from. Hopefully, I'll have extra money soon to buy your full Spanish course. 😊👍
Learning so much more in Paul's lessons now that I have quit taking notes and follow along and stop the video until I LEARN. Repetir y pracitca, practica. So glad that last week I signed up for the full course!! ORALE. Es marivilloso! Now I have SPANISH with PAUL everyday!
NO doubt Paul's delivery, content and teaching method is the best. Just sample some of the other lesson teacher's and see that their delivery often is fragmented, very speedy and they do not explain the 'Why'. Paul explains the logic of the language and tutors you to be independent thinker. IF you are interested in learning Spanish, do yourself a favor, go with Paul first and save yourself a lot of confusion.
Thank you Paul, I am enjoying your spanish courses on youtube. I am working my way through your free courses and when I get a little more confident I intend the buy your complete course. I like the way you build up words adding a little at a time. I am going to La Palma soon to visit relatives and I am going to surprise them by speaking spanish although a bit slow, I feel I am really learning. A big Thankyou. :) Gracias por todo.
You are just amazing. I'm in love with your explanations of every detail, and you are making it easier for me to learn Spanish. Love and salute from Bangladesh.
I purchased Spanish one and two of Pimsleur... what a mistake. These are significantly better. Paul is a great teacher. I will purchase full course at some point.
You are perfect Sir. I love the way you teach. I watch your session once and it's stored. I am from a poor family can't afford your paid sessions which I would love too. Once I start earning good I will definitely join your Live sessions. I really appreciate your efforts for giving access mini course and Monday sessions for free means a lot for students like me. I pray that God give you good health and long life. As you are a blessing to millions.
I'm grateful to hear you say that the only way to learn Spanish correctly & eventually become fluent, is to go slowly & think things through. In my sixties, that's my only hope! It's not easy learning a new language at my age. It's difficult & embarressing enough, without being shamed for not picking it up instantly, or even subconsciously, while sleeping, as some claim is possible. It's not as if I'm willfully refusing to learn. I think it's good to stress how much committment, hard work & repetition it takes.
Hi Will S.Totally agree. Planning to move to Spain in a year myself and have spent the last 6 months learning as best I can. Think I am doing okay! However, as I know from younger days during which i took many, many private French lessons, it all means very little until you overcome the hurdle of engaging in conversation and getting feedback confirming you have said something that another person understands, and can comprehend their response! Once that is behind you I believe the whole learning process accelerates. Summary .... age is not the issue (I hope, at 64!).
Esa es la actitud chicos!! Se debe ir aprendiendo poco a poco, sin prisas, intentando disfrutar de cada paso, de cada proceso, la mejor manera de aprender son siempre las conversaciones con quien maneje con soltura el lenguaje, un saludo cordial para ambos de un español....... y aqui estoy si quereis practicar
LOVE this and all your lessons. Thank you so much Paul. 🙏 I am on Level 6 of your course and I am addicted. I have bought a number of courses over several years but they just weren’t right and I wasted time as well as money. Your course is a very worth while investment. I am 77 years young and totally determined to be able to chat naturally when we visit Spain. I am so looking forward to it. I am 100% sure that I will achieve this at long last. I am recommending you to everyone! Thank you so much again! 😁
Merci du Canada! J'apprends l'espagnol grâce à vous Paul! I am very grateful to you and this is helpful to my english too as my first language is french.God bless you Paul!
Thank you so much for the way you teach .. so calm and easy to understand .. as I’m in ‘stuck ‘ in Peru with only my phone , I can’t download your course , but am so grateful for all you have available on RUclips
Can you tell me what the course is like as I was going to buy it but I think its Latin Spanish not Castilian. I live in Europe so it has its little differences
Hi Paul, I am the first one to see your video today. you are a good teacher. love your voice its so comforting. I wish your main course was bit cheaper and I could buy and learn spanish.
Brilliant channel the best I've found Please explain though... It dosent matter if you are speaking to a man or woman you just always use the male and female such as el for the word? No matter who you are taking to? 🍀
Your lessons are great. Very easy to learn and are most addictive. However, I do have a question. We learned that double l (ll) is pronounced like a "y" . In this case lluvia , the double l (ll) is pronounced like a thick j and not a y. Any specific rule for this? Thank you.
It's about how the letters are pronounced when Spanish is spoken aloud. While technically "yoo-vee-ah" is the appropriate pronunciation, native speakers typically pronounce the "y" sound almost as a hard "j." Similarly, the "v" sound often sounds like a very soft "b." This is the result of the way individuals learn to use their mouths when they begin to speak as infants. To try and illustrate it, someone with an American English accent might pronounce a sentence like so: "Downe-day estaw law beeb-lee-oh-teck-uh" A native speaker would sound more like: "Don-deh estah lah beeb-lee-oh-tech-ah" The differences can be subtle, but are key to sounding like a native speaker when speaking or reading in Spanish. To practice, I recommend reading Spanish text aloud to yourself regardless of if you can understand it. Spanish is fortunately a very easy-to-pronounce language once you have it down! Remember: "Ah-eh-ee-oh-ooh, el burro sabe mas que tu!" Paul has a particularly thick dialect in this regard so his "yoo-vee-ah" sounds very much like "joo-bee-ah."
Ya quise aprender ''hay'' y ahora veo este video. Qué coincidencia, verdad? Tengo qué decirte qué siempre haces explicar muy bien! O debo decir '' Siempre tengo qué decirte qué haces explicar muy bien!'''?
El primero es correcto. Sin embargo, "tengo que" no se escribe con un accento sobre la "e" de "que." Solamente se escribe "¡Tengo que decirte que siempre explicas muy bien!"
Your students may be interested to know that the reason that "hay" only has one form for "there is/are" is that it comes from the Latin expression "ille habet ibi," which means "he has there." It's the exact, literal equivalent of French "il y a" or Portuguese "há," both of which come from the same Latin expression and are therefore also invariable, just as "hay" is invariable in Spanish.
Okay question, I watched another you tube video and she said hubo instead of había I mostly understand the difference between preterite and imperfect but with this verb I'm not sure. When do you use hubo and when do you use había cause yall have similar examples
@@lehaim37 I agree. Just be like a little child learning, when it comes to confusing, or contradictory things. Just soak in all you can, and it'll come to us eventually.
Great lesson again Paul ,I’m now a big fan of your videos and I found it very helpful for beginners to catch up and being conversational ,Just wonder when are you going to present yourself in the video : )
I was wondering the same thing. I do believe its regional.. in mexico i believe it would sound like the i. Just something we have to remember or keep in mind while learning
I'm going to say it...
Paul,

Correct. The gender of the person you are talking TO does not determine the gender of the person or thing that you are talking ABOUT.

I give you a thumbs up for taking a language course in a second language.
Hi l am tamil
I love the guitar music at the end of your lessons. Would you kindly tell me what it is?
Hay mucho trafico en Cipatujah Hoy y Hay mocho sol, pero Ayer no habia mucho trafico.
Spanish is a very agreeable language :)
Muchas gracias dear Paul !
Muchisimas gracias Paul!

Forget that, focus on pretérito imperfecto for now, u need to dominate far more the language to decide when to use one or another
@@lehaim37 I agree.
I was wondering. With the work lluvia.
It sounds like you are pronouncing "ll" as a "j". I thought the double l was a "y"sound. Or does this change.
I think it’s regional. Most of Spain pronounce it as “y”, different parts of Central America use “j” or “ch”.
I was wondering the same thing. I do believe its regional.. in mexico i believe it would sound like the i. Just something we have to remember or keep in mind while learning
Do you have anything that can help me with the verb To Be? Really struggling and your videos so far have been really helpful.
They're is a ser and estar video
muy buen video. mucho conocimiento.
Hay mucho lesson's spanish. Rirrrrrr........... mucho gracias Paul!
Thanks Paul but we need more lessons on RUclips
Very helpful!!! 🙂
Paul where are you now?
I'm a little confused. You pronounced lluvia as JU BE A. But I've heart it pronounced elsewhere as YU BE A. Which is correct and why?
Michael Barcus they are both correct! some people pronounce the “ll” as JU and some people also pronounce it as YU, neither are incorrect :)
In Spanish, the first syllable sounds like (ju)ngle. (Llu)via.
En español, la primera sílaba suena como (jungle)
