    Just a word of caution about "soportar." Don't be fooled into thinking that it means "to support.' It doesn't; it's a Falso Amigo of that word. "To support" in Spanish is "apoyar."
    Another word that means the same thing as "soportar" is "aguantar," and it can be used in exactly the same way. "No aguanto a mi jefe.' "I can't stand my boss." "No aguanto estar aquí un minuto más." I can't stand being here another minute."

    I have serious learning disabilities. I have been trying to learn Spanish for over 10 years but struggle with retention. I have tried every lesson available on U-tube and they make me mentally exhausted. They speak so fast it just frustrates me. Your lessons give me hope. I appreciate the speed in which you speak and being able to see how each word is spelled. I've learned more in 5 months using your lessons than I have in the past 10 years through tapes and books. Muchisimas gracias

    I'm at that point in my Spanish learning journey where I know basic grammar and a good amount of words. I was kind of at a standstill until I came across your channel. I love that you teach us every day expressions and give us many examples on how to build sentences upon them. Very helpful. Thank you

    In general words in Spanish and Italian that end in a bit are masculine are derived from ancient Greek. Examples are el idioma, el problema, el clima.

    Tengo una pregunta para ti, comprendo por qué dices "no soporto comer solo" pero puedo decir "no soporto estar comiendo solo" también? Is my version redundant or "clunky" to native Spanish speakers?

    • @lam6666
      @lam6666 6 лет назад

      Es correcto.

    • @leyendanegra7401
      @leyendanegra7401 6 лет назад +2

      Matthew Farnan. No significan lo mismo...
      "No soporto comer solo" da a entender que quien eso expresa aborrece SIEMPRE comer sin compañía.
      "No soporto estar comiendo solo" implica más bien que la persona que lo dice se refiere a ESA COMIDA en concreto.

    • @carlosvenegas2186
      @carlosvenegas2186 6 лет назад +2

      hola, si, pero con una diferencia, cuando dices "no soporto estar comiendo solo" lo expresas en el momento en que estas comiendo..

    Love this lesson, but I was wondering if you can use "ni" in the sentence "No soporto el trafico ni la contaminacio"

    • @legaleagle46
      @legaleagle46 7 лет назад +1

      Yes, you can use "ni," here, but you must repeat it before BOTH of the things you can't stand: "No soporto ni el tráfico ni la contaminación."

    • @lam6666
      @lam6666 6 лет назад

      Yes, you can. It's works as a "negation-and" joining two negated parts.

    • @ninadouglas6289
      @ninadouglas6289 3 года назад

      @@legaleagle46 that’s is not necessarily true, it is done for emphasis but the sentence is perfectly correct with only one “ni”.

      "Tiempo" seems to be the word used for specific weather conditions. "¿Qué tiempo hace hoy? Hace sol y un poco de viento.' "What's the weather like today? "It's sunny and a little windy." "Clima," on the other hand, refers to weather in general, that is, the climate. "¿Qué clima tiene México?" "What's the weather like in Mexico in general?"
