Hi Mike - That's a good Cure CD and a cool Calexico find. I didn't realize that the Alabama Shakes singer had released a solo record. I have heard do the Lumineers and the Low Anthem, but I don't think I have heard the music. All of your music clips at the end were very peaceful 🙂

Yeah, I guess I was in quite a mellow mood for that bunch of clips LOL. I would love to get that Cure album on vinyl, and I'm sure I will pretty soon. The music I used for The Low Anthem comes from their 00 albums, but those were the clips that originally sold me on that band. They are from the album "Oh My God, Charlie Darwin", quite an amazing album that got woefully overlooked.

Lumineers are pretty good. I like that they dont drench their vocals in reverb like My Morning Jacket.. A different band entirely. The Low Anthem was good to hear, I have stuff by them. 😊 See you, Mike !

MMJ did use a lot of reverb in their earlier years, but around 2008 or so, they stopped. I got introduced to their music after they stopped and have since gotten used to their earlier albums, and they have become one of my favorite bands. I'm happy to hear that you have some of TLA's music, I really love their sound on the album "Oh My God Charlie Darwin" and highly recommended that one.

That is the Low Anthem I have ! And I do agree on MMJ .. They stopped doing that hollow sound that didn't do their music justice.

Love the John Lee Hooker, Iggy, and the Cure! (my favorite title in their catalog) I'm going to pick up that Lumineers album. "To Ohio" and "Charlie Darwin" were beautiful. You just cost me some $$ Great responses, Mike.

"To Ohio" and "Charlie Darwin" are both off of their album "Oh My God, Charlie Darwin", which is such a masterpiece. I think if more people heard that album, that it would go down as one of the best albums of the 00's. I had to use songs from their earlier years because I was restricted from using the newer material, which is also fantastic. I really think you would be quite impressed with that album from The Low Anthem. As far as The Lumineers, they are also quite good and the "Cleopatra" album is excellent. I haven't heard their latest album yet.

Good response Mike. I don’t buy much new releases because of the cost,so can’t reply to this one. Enjoyed the needle drops. Cheers.

I know what you mean. I don't buy as many as I would like to, and cost is the reason why I don't have any new releases from the past year. So, I just got together some albums that are a few years old.

Fun CDs. I like both box sets. Calexico has interesting cover art. I’m gonna really struggle with Ben Rankin’s challenge. Ha - I recognize that Jones Sisters!!! I love the Low Anthem.

Glad to hear you love The Low Anthem. I would suggest the album Oh My God Charlie Darwin. Yes the good ole Jones Sisters from our Trifecta days!
