It sounds like the term NFT is being stretched to include things that are possible and awesome about blockchains, but don't have to be "NFTs" They could just be smart contracts. An NFT is a token that is given a unique id or number and holds a small url to the artwork. You could dump the url portion. I enjoyed this video. I'm a solidity developer who is pretty bored with Defi and NFT's but these ideas are inspiring.

As someone in innovation (and a patient who has had to drive across town for MRI data) I really see how THIS is really the most interesting application for NFTs. Especially interesting from a standpoint of patients taking back ownership of their own data (because we all know someone else is making $$ off of it now).
The shortcomings of the healthcare system expressed in this video are quite accurate. The general ideas of how to fix them are interesting, but the explanations of NFTs and blockchains are a little misleading. First off, non-fungible does not mean they can't be traded. All it means is that the token represents something unique and distinct, that does not have an identical counterpart and cannot be divided into multiple tokens holding the same value. You can though trade 2 NFTs if you consider them to have equal values, just like you can buy and sell them for cryptocurrency. Secondly, while the blockchain is more or less tamper-proof, it is definitely not secure - in fact the whole concept is that all information on the blockchain is public and viewable by anyone. Therefore, keeping private medical data on a blockchain is ill-advised. The problem of distributed medical information is indeed a big one, but can be solved with any method of centralized data storage - it just needs to be accepted by all parties, and secure. That being said, the idea of keeping track of blood donations or transfer of medical supplies using a blockchain does have merit. Unfortunately, since most of the errors in this field are due to human error and incorrect marking of packages - this solution will not solve them.
