  • This is part 2 to my "Style Shift" MCU video (and an overall extension of my MCU essay video). In these videos I show just how the MCU changed stylistically after Disney got involved by showcasing snippets of different scenes from each era side by side, with a primary focus on something I call artistry. This is not from a technological standpoint regarding which movies look prettier, but merely the overall aesthetic and vibe of the movies by themselves. And while this does not showcase every single modern MCU movie/show (as there's just way too many at this point to cover in one video), note that this goes for pretty much 98% of the movies after 2011 and is not just limited to what I show here.
The purpose of these videos is to showcase how the art style of today's movies contrasts from how the MCU started in 2008 - 2011. How overall it went from something that I felt was really cool/soulful, into something that just feels severely less so.
P.S. I meant to put the Universal and Sony logos next to the Paramount and Disney logos respectively, but I wasn't thinking. Either way, it's not a big deal and not the focal point of the video so just ignore it.

4:57 Fun Fact: That teacher is the same character in the MCU that got pizza from Bruce Banner in The Incredible Hulk.

I guess the real life looking style could have look like movies like The Batman, Oppenheimer, or etc.

What are your thoughts on the Monsterverse/Legendary's Godzilla Franchise?.

I liked the first Godzilla (2014) and Kong (2017). King of Monsters was okay. Not a fan of the direction the newer movies seem to be taking.

Like Marvel look at how the Monsterverse changed since 2014 they shift the grounded turned outlandish tone thanks to the Crossover films like Godzilla vs Kong. Speaking of which when you compare Godzilla vs Kong (2021) alongside Godzilla (2014) & Kong: Skull Island (2017) they think they are in the same world/universe right?

When you compare Kong from Kong: Skull Island with Kong from Godzilla vs Kong (2021) & The New Empire. They are the same Kong because they change the height.

1:22 As you can see, the aspect ratio changed to 16:9 in Avengers 2012 from the Phase One solo films’ 2.39:1 ratio (Considering Whedon mostly worked on tv shows with that aspect ratio). The colors are a little more saturated. Plus Hulk has a different design due to Rhythm & Hues doing the cgi for 2008 Hulk, while ILM did Iron Man 1. Plus the director for Incredible Hulk wanted something uber human for Hulk’s design in that movie. MCU Banner was recast as Ruffalo from Norton in Avengers 2012. Funnily enough, Ruffalo was 2008 Hulk Director’s original choice as Bruce Banner. But Universal wanted Norton as he was more recognizable.

One last thing, ILM did the cgi for Avengers 2012 and Hulk was redesigned to look more comic-accurate I think.

I still love the MCU to this day but I kinda sided with Martin Scorsese because if it wasn't for Anomaly, then I wouldn't have been cool to understand his opinions.

@@SuperFreddy64-mp5ew Superhero movies have become too comic booky like they should have made a balance between comic book accuracy and originality. Phase 1 movies are beautiful I think Martin Scorsese meant that Superhero movies don't really have the beauty that The Dark Knight trilogy and the Raimi Trilogy had. Endgame was great it has full of emotions and I can tell that it's more emotional than Infinity War but it doesn't really compare to other movies that I've mentioned.

Haven’t seen it in years, but like everyone else says, it’s a great film. Fun fact: it was actually one of the first R rated movies I ever saw.

Anomaly I just watched The Marvels and it is bad I don't enjoy it as much as other people do. The problem of the movie is it's relying too much on CGI and plus REALLY ? The singing part ? This is one of the few reasons why I hate Disney because they always disneyfy Marvel. Captain Marvel is not a Disney princess my god.
