    Back in the early 90s my buddy bought a mobile home for $300 but it had to be moved we actually moved it with a tractor and a slow-moving vehicle sign we did not pull permits because we were in a rule unincorporated area we threw a slow-moving vehicle sign on the back and towed it right to the middle of town you know what the cops didn't f*** with us it took his 12 hours to pull it from a lot move it 3 miles and get it set in its new spot of course I'm hooking the skirting and plumbing and getting it ready to move took another day in itself and getting it level than set and everything plumbed back up and all the skirting on took a couple of more days but we got it all moved in 12 hours not having any idea what we were doing just being dumb 20-something year olds with a plan

    We moved ours a year ago, did all prep myself except unblocking and blocking. Its an impressive site seeing a 16x80 rolling down the highway. I was in lead so they could follow and I had to keep people from creeping up on them when they were making corners. People really don't care and have no clue what the home would do to their vehicles if it clipped them. There is probably 15 tons rolling down the road.

      Well said. The weight-to-stopping ratio comes to mind every time a spring breaker tourist wonders from the strip on their 25mph rental scooter and pulls out in front of me on the highway. People need to be more aware of their surroundings in general.

    Have an experience it's nerve-wracking at best usually . Watching people cut into your home to cut it apart. if it's a big Park move and everyone has to move their hiring Tweakers and everybody to move your home. Then they're taking your crap. You practically have to sit on top of them to make sure that your stuff gets moved and doesn't get stolen if it's involved in park closure if it's older than 10 years it's not worth moving to another Park they won't accept it.If it's pre HUD 1975 or more. It can look like the Taj Mahal and you haven't fixed all up cute but it doesn't matter it's pre 1975. If you do get some part to allow it the next time you go to sell it you won't be able to sell it. Because the parks want 10 or less.

And how much in total did it cost to get a permit for the electricity and water / sewage hookup?

    • @brianhoward3947
      @brianhoward3947 6 лет назад +7

      Tony Kart Racer ...you should have concrete runners on your lot, for the size trailer your moving. Your trailer, should have axles and tongue, underneath. Your mover should supply the tires. As far as utilities.... every state and county, has different codes/laws. Check with your local auditor office on permits and regulations. Your mover, should supply relocation permit, for the trailer to be moved.

      Wow, that's crazy! Maybe they meant $15K to set it fully set it up on an uncleared piece of land with no septic tank, pad, utilities?

    • @cm01
      @cm01 5 лет назад +5

      @@GuitarAudiologist that's probably it. $15,000 to go from a raw lot to a fully installed home sounds about right. That plus say $20,000 for an acre of land (obviously varies vastly by area), $45,000 for a brand new 13'-45' and another $10,000 for a nice shop and you've got the American dream for a total of $90,000 before furnishing and all. I can't understand why more people don't go that route.

    • @GuitarAudiologist

      corvetteguy1980 The moving company had their own wheels they used to move it. After that they set it up on blocks, detached the tongue and put it underneath, and took their wheels with them.

    • @GuitarAudiologist
      @GuitarAudiologist  Год назад

      I'm no expert, but I would suggest you look into the codes of where you are trying to move. In my area, they wouldn't allow anything made before 2010 to move in (or that didn't have a certain roof angle/structure.) Code is all they care about, and they all vary in different areas. Hope this helps!
