    Just bought a home in Roseville... Grew up in Oakland and selling my house here in Hayward, we are just excited to move on from the Bay Area. We have 5/7 year old boys and I just dont want to raise them here. Violence around here is increasing with the lack of leadership and policing and all the robberies against Asians. Loved your video and will browse through some of the things to do around the area.

      You guys will love it here. Very family oriented and there is a sense of community. Yes, we will continue to post things to do around this area. If you have instagram go to @experiencerocklin, lots of restaurant and local business recommendations. Btw is your Hayward house already on the market?

    Used to be a great place to live (20+ years ago). Now, it is super crowded and boring. After living in the area for 45 years, we are moving to Tennessee next year. Can't get out of here fast enough.

    How's the food truck business in Roseville? Are there lots of food trucks in Roseville?

    • @livinginnortherncalifornia
      @livinginnortherncalifornia  2 года назад

      There is a food truck organization based out if Sacramento that does events and organizes things for food truck vendors. I know they go to different places including Roseville. Not sure if any are necessarily based out of Roseville. There is definitely a good support group for food trucks here. Check out foodinthehood916.com. Hope this helps

    I thought PG&E serviced Roseville. Does this other independent power company only cover a small portion?

    • @livinginnortherncalifornia
      @livinginnortherncalifornia  2 года назад +2

      From what I understand they cover all of Roseville. Gas I believe is covered by PG&E.

    • @moialder252
      @moialder252 2 года назад +1

      Roseville has it's own electricity and is easily half of a home that is on PGE. Gas is still PGE. This is why you dont see much people put solar in Roseville homes (except new homes who have no choice due to california law) because ROI takes much longer and not worth it to many. Summers when PGE folks are paying $600, rosevills is $300 or less. Same goes for those on SMUD, also about half of PGE rates. So those in Folsom, Elk Grove, Sac

    Informative video, thanks. Looks like we will be moving soon and have started the process of researching these cities. It's interesting hearing about the pros and cons. Didn't like hearing about the traffic and pollution really, but we like the idea of a place that has it's own energy company. We would also like to look into the safety statistics of each of these cities. We don't have children in school, so that factor wouldn't apply to us really. Hope we can find that place that fits us the best. :)

      Glad you liked the info. Where are you moving from? Honestly, the traffic and pollution isnt too bad but wanted to mention it. What cities are you looking into? Will definitely share as much info on them.

    We are planning to move to Folsom CA in June 2022. I'm being told Rocklin is the place to be bez of top notch schools. Now I'm all confused. My job is in UC Davis area. Any advice? Moving from Anaheim Hills, CA.

      Both areas have great schools. I think it depends on your family and what you are looking for. Rocklin does have a great community. Feel free to send me a message so we can chat about what may be a better fit for your family - soldbyrose@gmail.com. But overall, I think you guys will love it out this way.

      Rocklin only has 65,000 people and only really has 2 high schools. Whitney and Rocklin High. Both which are great high schools. Same trend when it comes to the middle and elementary levels. Roseville has 2 separate school districts. One for K-8, and another just for high school. The high school district has like 8-9 high schools, all which range from good, great, to perfect. Perfect being Granite Bay High School (which yes is part of ROSEVILLE'S school district despite being in the city of granite bay) Don't let Granite bay or rocklin residents tell you other wise. Same goes for the K-8 schools, all are good to great. To sum it up, Rocklin barely has any schools because its a small town and the few schools are good. The rankings are a bit skewed and watered down when you go to those school district ratings because it doesnt account for the weight of how many schools the district has. As I mentioned earlier, it pits 2 high schools in a district against 9. Roseville is the anchor city of Placer county and the biggest. I believe with 140,000+ people, but the city's borders are vast. While Rocklin basically has no land left. The thing with Roseville is just because you live IN Roseville, doesnt mean you go to Roseville schools. This is where addresses matter and the borders of the district. Realtors should know this, but there are shady practices going on where both realtor and sales agents of new home communities just advertise the "Roseville great schools and come to find out they dont even go to roseville schools). Roseville has transitioned to building a more variety of new homes and no longer the usual big homes on big lots. This has drove down the median price of home sales as there are now more smaller/affordable or however you want to call them new homes. But dont get it wrong, Roseville/Rocklin have always been spoken synonymously. Some Rocklin crowds like to feel superior but they rely more on Roseville then roseville does with them (Westfield luxury mall, fountains outdoor luxury shopping, Top Golf, Costco, Sam's Club, living spaces, all the usual chains/restaurants/car dealerships etc). I noticed your name is ANIL so I take it you are Indian? Another thing to consider is that BOTH Roseville and Rocklin are not very diverse. People from both city will try to say other wise but in comparison to sacramento, elk grove, folsom, it really isnt. I have noticed a bigger Indian community in Folsom. Folsom also boasts top notch schools, but unlike Rocklin, they actually have stores and entertainment: The Palladio, folsom outlets for example. Also Folsom is on SMUD electricity. Roseville has it's own electricity company also. If Folsom and Roseville is paying $300 in summer for electricity, people in Rocklin who are on PGE wil be paying $600 and this isnt a joke. That is why you'll see solar always recommended in Rocklin so make sure to add $30K+ on your home budget to add it. If you are in UC Davis, check out Elk Grove also, very diverse with huge asian community and asian stores, good schools, also on SMUD electricity.
