have not decided, either monohull or cataamaran. If monohull Kraken 44. still narrowing down catamarans, but Windelo and HH are top 5. Just need to win the Lottery to push the dream along. Happy to see your dreams being fulfilled. Fair Winds 😎

Cats can provide comfort and easier sailing, but the possibility of a total capsize without righting is too much for my comfort.

In my humble opinion: Cats, & Trimarans with escape hatches.

    • @allenclark1914

Actually, the difference is in your preference. They both have advantages and both have limitations.. so which one is totally up to your style.

Personally we have decided to go with a cat, the accommodations are just so much better, speeds are usually higher and generally less draught to worry about, also having twin engines is a bit of a safety net.
Yes a good mono probably are the safer way to sail but you don't hear about many cats capsizing unless they are being pushed to hard.

Zack, when solo sailing from anchorage, I put the main up. Then slowly edge forward, letting the boat sail her way as I take anchor rode up. When on top of anchor, let the bow work the anchor loose then haul the last of the rode up. Nice thing about the main being up is boat is in a controlled forward angle until I am ready to take the helm and steer the course needed out of the anchorage. Of course assuming you have moderate wind and plenty of sea room in the anchorage. Cheers

I've always dreamed of visiting the Galapagos Islands. The unique diversity between the islands, with each one offering its own distinct ecosystem and array of wildlife, is something that has captivated my imagination for as long as I can remember. The thought of exploring different islands, each with its own unique species and natural beauty, fills me with excitement. From snorkeling and scuba diving with the sea lions and graceful marine iguanas to observing the incredible variety of bird species that call these islands home, the Galapagos promises an adventure like no other. It’s a place where anyone could truly connect with nature, experiencing firsthand the untouched beauty and extraordinary biodiversity that make the Galapagos Islands so special.

@@TeuluTribe Yea, that's too bad. If you do get back out, make sure you visit the Darwin and Wolf coral reefs on the northwest passage. The Santa Cruz reefs are not that brilliant since the bleaching over the past decades due to the warming waters. Though, Galapagos Conservancy and Mongabay have been monitoring them, and they've been slowly recovering. The Darwin and Wolf island reefs are fabulous.

You are living the life of an adventureR. I haven’t looked at life exactly but I did have a place in Tuscany for 15 years. While I was there, I always felt as I was living in a movie. It was fantastic. I do think you are having a life that others would envy the great thing is that you’re doing it when you’re young. And 81 years of age, I just canceled another trip to Tuscany because I have other things on my agenda like moving into a senior living place. There will be a time when the adventure will not be possible and I congratulate you for living a carpe diem life. I have tried to live that life since 2000 and for the most part accomplished it in my own way. Yours is a much more adventure sway and I enjoy following you. Your enjoyment is infectious. You both present as wonderfully enthusiastic, hard-working, and, pragmatic people who don’t sweat the small things. Keep on keeping on. I am a retired clinical psychologist, and you are living a life that is fully actualized.

There are several species of Galapagos tortoises. The one you saw first on this video was a good 450 lbs (32 stone). Tortoises are mostly vegetarian, mainly living on grasses. Turtles, on the other hand, live in water (and the banks), have a streamline shell and webbing on their toes or flippers designed for water life. They also are mostly carnivorous. Tortoises walk, turtles swim,. a terrapin is a turtle that lives in estuaries with a mix of salt and fresh waters along coasts.

I had a 49 ft sailboat, first boat. Loved it, but 4 months on the boat living basically in a 6 foot cockpit with occasional trips to the pulpit seats (center cockpit), but then bought a 62 ft. Cat. The living space, separation from other people aboard and lots of places to be together make it best for me. Faster than my mono, bigger, double redundancy on major systems, pointed to 40 degrees or better. I missed healing for about 20 min. Last time i helped with a monohull delivery, it was terrible being healed over for 5 days. CATS WIN

Exausting getting there but fun.. Glad you got to Darwin station... The rats get the Tortoise eggs and babies plus birds..the cats the lizzards and birds goats eat all the vegetation, dogs you saw and thevother problem that
traveled with the Polynesians and settlers in a lot of places and thats Pigs .. NZ got that lot and more. Fortunately they are doing things to eliminate the invaders on land. The smaller the pest the harder it is to control and mice have turned vampire killers on some Albatross nesting islands. ..but Darwin himself Described the finches.. one of which is described as the vampire finch.

James is like a reconstruction of an old time clipper ship sailor. He's also had a lot of engine hassles lately..
BTW from where you are now expect fuel contamination problems so filter what goes in to your tanks and through your systems right up to the injector pump... 👍🏼

Nothing against your pronunciation of your native language. But to be honest sometimes I have no idea what you are even saying .... it seems you don't say ," r " or pronounce them at all ..... sorry just trying to be honest. Elayna from vegabond, she sings I don't understand a word she says .
To attract viewers a more correct way to use the English words try taking your country slang out of it . More could enjoy your conversation .

I’m English, and to me neither Becca or Zac have a noticeable dialect, I would say they are both well spoken and clearly understood. Not sure what you mean by country slang, but an interesting viewpoint.

Thanks for your point of view but this is just the way we talk. You could always just put on subtitles? 😊
