Nicholas Chen Agreed, don’t know why everyone wants a “manual everything”. As great as manuals are when you’re driving hard, it’s a pain to live with Everyday and with most cars being automatic, most non-enthusiasts would be used to it and appreciate it. Personally, manuals only make sense on a sporty car that has less than 450hp, beyond that, too fast for a manual....
@@nix294 I like the auto and I’m an enthusiast. I’m the type of guy to drive my cars daily I will not keep it in the garage and drive it on weekends. Way more practical for a auto than a manual in traffic, on public roads, up hills, stop and go, and after a busy day when I want to just cruise and relax not going crazy everywhere but still want to be in a sports car.
Fun fact: A young man named Michael Schumacher (yes THE Michael Schumacher) completed his car mechanic apprenticeship at the Bergmeister family's VW dealership some 30 years ago.
Dear Carfection. ... I don't know what's your inventory of videos, but since things are being limited by covid 19... How about uploading videos of Henry just driving a singer for example? Or any other car with nice noise. Just to enjoy the sound and the experience !
sutats yes there is. Mine has been in the garage for 42 days awaiting a gearbox replacement. On my drive I have a Ford Fusion which is so crap I haven’t even bothered to look up its spec and engine capacity. That said, if I didn’t have the shitbox then I’d have no car at all so it’s a adequate replacement for my Porsche at the moment ;)
The 718 gts flat4 turbo was already probably one if the most fun daily driving cars on the planet in the turns. Now with a proper motor and sound i can’t imagine.
Love the calmness of the 5-4-3-2 downshift into corner 1 under heavy braking in the wet. Just a slight smile and some perfect (and computer assisted) rev matching.
TC/ESP is off so I'm pretty sure this means that auto blip is also disabled. Also the blips don't sound fast or perfect enough to be done by the computer. With auto blip, the ecu matches the revs at the very last moment and it opens the throttle faster than you can do it with your foot. I have a GT4 and whilst I enjoy practising heel toe, the auto blip is fun to use to use and actually makes better noises due to how aggressively it opens the throttle.
Manifesting this car into my life. I honestly don't care for hypercars that you can't really use on a daily basis. For me it doesn't get better than the 2020 Cayman GTS.
Mine is supposed to be delivered early June, but with Corona who knows. Would be lovely to get it before summer is over. Until then I live on videos like this, so thank you. :)
@@spanienfan184 I hope you get your car in a timely manner! How does it sound compared to the old 3.4 GTS? This has a higher redline but didn't seem to hear the aggressive tone and crackles during downshifting as much as the 981.
Great car control , was more impressed with the super smooth Down - shifting though I wonder if he was doing it himself or if he was using the auto blip function ?

Wicked Schwarz No, that’s all, and that the GTS has been reported as being more the everyday user friendly car, which would be my preference, compared to the extra track day characteristics of the GT4.
In this situation with the track wet, I would be using 2nd gear only to bring my speed down before a tight turn coming off a straight away, then enter the turn in 3rd and let the torque (which 3rd gear has) to pull and accelerate the car out of the turn. This technique would probably reduce all the excess wheel control caused by 2nd gear torque overwhelming the wet track, and result in a quicker better controlled in/out of a tight turn.
