Then people became aware of its existence. The organization behind it decides to use this attention to hide in plain sight. They pay someone through a shell company to post similar looking but solvable challenges and they hide their own communication between these. This actually makes the real recipient of the messages look way less suspicious because now there's tons of people who access this sub and the real recipient looks just like a random nerd now.

I think that it makes sense to be a penetration test by a security company to see how fast their data can be decrypted by testing the whole internet on it.
Could be computer/tech company recruiting, or intelligence agency. I remember when Australia’s ASIO started a recruitment challenge or quiz online. It didn’t disclose your test scores, and you didn’t need to provide email, login or anything - but if you passed, they would know how to get in touch with you.

The oldest post is 3 days ago and the only moderator is "u/29497513910652490397", who's account has only existed for 11 days. The moderator is the only person that's posted anything on the sub. I don't know if A858 is starting up again or not but the posts look pretty much the same as what's described in the video
