There’s something about this band and this interview that gets me every time and I just started really getting into this kind of music. It’s some of the more potent form of musics in my playlist that has become the go to whenever my disconnect becomes absolute

Lol just found my old comments on this vid from 10 years ago, one of them says "no one knows fix's real name". used to be obsessed with this band, crazy to think there was once a time when there was some members whose real names were never revealed (now they all are)
Yeah, you right, but personally I think this band reflects a dependence of grief and happiness in songs. Listening to it gives an existential feeling, its like pure nudity of emotions. Without pain we won't appreciate life and therefore will never love it.
@@markzhitchenko5029 I just recently read that the name Joy Division was a euphemism for a district in the concentration camps reserved for sex slavery. So that name is even darker than I thought
@@markzhitchenko5029 but on your comment, I agree. Listening to Lifelover brings me back to being an addict where disappointment crushes you and pleasure takes you to unimaginable joys. Boredom was an abyss, every feeling was at it's most intense. I get that feeling from this band, Peste Noire and also Shock Therapy, (the electro punk band from Detroit, there are two.) @@dominichowell6896 Oh man, its great to hear you are talking about addiction in the past tense, proud of you. Will check the other bands that you've send now.
I actually agree with that last statement. I much prefer doom, black metal, atmospheric black metal, dsbm and different stuff like that, but the fans at those shows tend to be very static. Death metal can be great but far less appealing to me, but goddamn death metal shows are a lot more fun. Folks go crazy and that's a big part of extreme metal shows imo. So while I'll only sometimes go to black metal/ doom metal / dsbm shows, I very frequently go to death metal shows (even of bands I don't know at all) just because of the energy that's always there. I mean shit, even deathcore (yuck) shows are practically insane parties sometimes, and while the music is often very shit, the fans know how to have a good time.
Tha3rdworldghost Animosity impressed me, and I always had a soft spot for "The Goswell Divorce". But honestly, even after being to many shows, I haven't brought myself to re-listen to anything else.
Awesome interview! Esspecially I like that all of the band members were talking not just one of them. And they gave adequate and smart answers to each question.
"it would be nice if more than just metalhead showed up and watched us" .. yeaaa I don't think thats ever going to happen. Lifelover and all DSBM is way too extreme for even most metalheads. I feel like you have to be really conditioned for years before your musical taste can appreciate this type of music.

As far as he sais the mask is nothing more than his original make-up that he puts on his face when he plays. But because of the sweat the make up goes of so he decided to wear a mask with exactly the same make up... oh well such a same he is dead and the band broke up i was really hoping i could hear more music from them in the future :(

This band had lots of ambition and went ahead of their time. You don’t ever really find black metal-adjacent bands like this that were this creative
It's tragic B died, he has such an interesting way of speaking, I could listen to him talk for hours
i think they want the fans to relate to their music and let them know that the fans are not alone when it comes to that level of depression and shock
I think that's what some DSBM bands miss that point, since they seem to just wanna copy the imagery stuff.
Call me edgy, but self-therapy isn't the point of DSBM.
