Thanks for the frequent videos it has saved me a lot of hassle on what to do for a lot of stuff it is really helping me you are the best! 😊😊😊
Really nice to see you back making videos :)
thank you for the recent uploads brandon
Brandon's been very active recently! 👍🎅
Great video, Brandon! I just put a half-drop of lube on the corner of a piece of paper and apply it to the bearing. Thats just me though. :)
Most helpful yoyo video ive found
Merry Christmas Eves Brandon!
have a merry Christmas brandon
THANK YOU SO MUCH! HELPED ME.
I love u man, u saved my life.
thanks Brandon really helped

ADAM GROSS Bonjour.Comment vous vous appelez ?

Thanks. I enjoy your vids. Oh wow I didn't know anyone re-shielded. I have thrown all my shields away and some I've bought came without. My yoyo seats typically seal the bearings pretty well when the yoyo is assembled but I have seen a gap in one yoyo that could let stuff in I guess. But otherwise glad to see I generally had the idea, I was lubing with reader glasses on (hehe, ima old fart) and using a tooth pick with only the tiny droplet left on the tip.
thank you for teaching me
Nice video! Never seen anyone reshield their bearings before.
I guess it's an old habit from when bearings were really expensive and difficult to come by.
Ilove watching this back
I have never lubed this way - always just dropped one single drop onto the bearing while still in my yoyo and ive never had problems with it being responsive unless i accidentally put more than 1 drop.
Merry Christmas
wow Brandon uploads a lot these days
Thank's brandon
Is it possible to lube the yoyo while it’s spinning? Or does that not do anything since the shields are on?
I recommend using a Multitool instead of pliers, because when you accidentally scrape the yoyo with pliers, it'll get a scratch. Atleast that's what happened to me. If you don't have a multitool, just be 200x more careful if you don't want to scratch your CLYW.
I got a New unresponsive yoyo and ist a little bit responsive (BIND to fast) i already changed the pads should i lube the bearing?
Tq berenden vu
Is yoyostore rewinds string trick oil ok for this? Also, i put less than a drop and it has a crazy rattling noise, is that normal?
Great vid! When would you lube vs. clean?
I'd clean when the bearing is spinning too slow for my liking. Lube when it either gets loud or responsive.
one thing i learned is just buy yoyo lube. i used sewing machine oil and rem oil for a while and they work but its soooo easy to overlube. i got v4m lube and ive never even come close to overlubing...its possible with other oils, but yoyo lube is so thin
you should make a video of you playing with a yoyo with yoyofactory super long string
hey brandon will YYF performance oil work?
Hey Brandon nice video. Have you reviewed the Duncan Haymaker bi-metal?
Not yet, haven't tried it unfortunately.
hey Brandon..love your content...question for you. after lubing..do you have to put the shield back or could you keep the bearing deshielded?
If I haven't accidentally lost any of the parts ill resheild it. If I have then de sheilded it is ! Haha
The Brandon Vu - hahah!! very true!! thanks for replying!! guess I'll keep my bearings shielded... if I don't lose the parts...lol!!
:D yer back
I couldn't get my shields off so what i did was use the pin to dent the clip slightly, making a small 'funnel' in the clip. Then i put lube on the pin and did stuff from there.
Looks like one drop has a new bottle of their v4m oil that comes with a needle tip. Wonder how well it works 🤔
Brandon you're good folk. Here's a cookie 🍪
Joker Loc you are unoriginal. Here's a 🍌💧
ADAM GROSS how'm i unoriginal sir
hey fellow Brandon, should I lube my yo-yo bearing when I get it (new and out of the box), or should I wait for if something was to go wrong with it. Thanks! :)
If it's fine leave it. You don't want to excessively lube your bearing.
cool, thanks!
hi subbed a long time ago
Thank you for the ongoing support !
Wouldn't it be good to clean it with acetone first?
brandon i really like all of your video i suscribe to your channel can you do a review of a recess weekend
Hey brandon,
Im competing in a yoyo contest and it says Preliminary freestyles will be set to random instrumental music for expedience. What does this mean? do I still need to bring prelim music?
PLEASE REPLY!!
Do you need to re-shield the bearing after lubing? Is there an advantage to keeping it shielded?
You don't need to resheild it, it will play fine unsheilded. Only advantage is if you drop your bearing, the sheilds provide some resistance against things like dust particles getting inside the bearing.
I'm a noob at yoyoing but does the lube before on the yoyo go away? Like over time? If you do, do you have to live it again? And if so how much time does the other lubricant that the yoyo already had go away? PLEASE ANSWER!
Lubricants wear off over time, but Yoyo bearings don't need that much lube. When you hear it go loud, follow this video and your bearing should be fine.
Can you lube the bearing with the shield still on it?
With such a small amount applied it won't have enough of an effect. You need to desheild it for optimal results.
The Brandon Vu review magic yoyo v1 pls
The Brandon Vu is it really necessary to put the shields back on?
Nevan Keys no, i keep the shields removed for future lubing
gotcha, yeah I'll probably do that I'm just a little paranoid of getting fuzz in my ceramic bearings
Can you use thin bike lube as yoyo lube?
Does YoyoFactory have a thick lube for my responsive yoyo?
much better than yotricks way to lube a bearing
Is it really important to deshield the bearing before lubing it?
is the shield important?
Also what do you mean by the yoyo locking up?
Kelvin Quah it keeps stoping for a millisecond or something like that
Imagine watching this 4 years from now. CoUlDeNt Be YaL
Hey Brandon, is ‘cleaning’ and ‘lubing’ the same thing?
No, lubing involves adding a lubricant to help the yo-yo spin smoother. Cleaning involves soaking the bearing in a solvent, usually lighter fluid to clear out any debris stopping the bearing from spinning as fast as possible.
Yotricks doesn't deshield the bearing and uses paper to run off excess lube.So which is better?
Both methods work, but I find removing the shield allows you to put even less lube into the bearing, without slowing it down and ensuring your bearing gets lubed DIRECTLY where it's needed.
Not necessary to remove the shield. A good drop "thin" oil on it, the Lupe (liquid) will find his way behind the shield. Clean it after with a tissue and all is fine!
one bottle will outlast your yoyo and career 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Bruh XD
I used 2 in 2 years...
reading these comments makes me feel better about launching my c-clip across the room while deshielding it
how can i get my bearing out without a tool
What if the bearing dont have a sheild?
What do you mean by when the Yo-Yo 'locks up'?
Your bearing will actually stop spinning momentarily, It usually sounds awful and is very easy to notice.
Do we need reshield
I don't exactly have access to yoyo lube right now... Are there any alternatives for the time being?
Another channel suggested 1 part 3 in one oil to 2 parts oderless mineral spirits, all available from a hardware store. With mailorder so easy I would just order the thin lube Brandon suggested. The cost will be about the same. That being said if you have some bearings in bad shape perhaps the hardware store formula would suffice to soak them overnight.
AW MAN ive been doing it wrong. no wonder my center trac bearing is responsive on my maverick yoyo.
Yyf lube makes my yoyo smooth af
is it 100% needed to put the shields back on?
Nope, I rarely do it. I included it for completeness.
Which yoyo is that
What tricks are you doing
What if all I have is skateboard lube ?
Does lube spoil??
I hate when people say stuff like, "Just throw away the C-clip and shield, those are never going back in". Like, why.
Once you get in the habit of maintaining bearings you realise it's a lot easier without the C Clips. While I don't throw them away recklessly I don't really mind losing them because it doesn't' make that much of a difference in the grand scheme of things.
The Brandon Vu Yeah, I realized that there's little difference, but some people I've spoken to when I asked haven't even tried. It kind of has a bad mental connection I guess.
Is it because of the time you are recording or you are tan now Brandon?
Wong He Bit of both...
This dude says like so so much
stupid question. I am a beginner at yoyo so forgive me.... But what I have understand the difference between responsive and unresponsive is the gap between the "walls"?.... how could the lube or not lubed bearing make an unresponsive yoyo ot be responsive? And a question, should I lube a new yoyo? because mine is making a screeching noise, but I like it... but is it bad?
Hi Rasmus, not a dumb question at all. The gap between the walls is one factor, the speed the bearing spins is another factor. Most hyper responsive yoyos have both, a very thin gap and a slow bearing. If you want to see for yourself, get a yoyo with a wide gap and put a very lubed up and slow bearing in that yoyo, the yoyo will become semi responsive. If your yoyo is making a screeching noise, it's definitely time to lube/clean the bearing.
My bearing exploded but I found a fidget spinner bearing and I need to lube it 💀
My magicyoyo k2 plus crystal keeps coming up in unresponsive mode, I keep cleaning it and it's brand new and the bearing is lubed, it keeps coming up!!!!
Brandon what website that l can buy stealth
rewind yoyo
instead of lubing I would suggest to drop bearing in acetone for few mins and than remove it let it dry and put it in yo yo.
do you really need to put the bearing shield back because some of the videos tutorials say you don't have to
You don't really have to, I did it for demonstration purposes, but it's just easier to leave them off.
The Brandon Vu one last question how long does your bearings last.
i did this and my yo yo is still super loud does that mean my bearing is dead or should i clean the bearing?
Hingle Mcringleberry you should clean it better and soaking it in lighter fluid helps a lot to clean the grease
When a bearing makes noise is that always a sign that dirt is inside and/or the balls are have a problem. This bearing will be breaking in near future. That is for any bearing not only yoyo bearings! I work 30 years in engineering business...!
what lube should I use?
A yoyo lube, I use YYF thin performance oil
Thanks
I know this is an old comment but you can also use Singer sewing machine oil from Walmart. Works just as well and costs less for a larger bottle.
Could u use vasiline
No! That will mess up your bearing big time. Only use Yoyo lubricants.
does baby oil work as a thin lube?
Would not recommend it. Fastest way to screw up your bearing is with a foreign lubricant. Use Yoyo lube whenever possible.
@@thebrandonvu thx
My bearing doesnt have a shield and it slowed down even more, it is supposed to work but i doesnt to me
Basically
Ok so I’ve got a problem I don’t have lube and I applied wd 40 to my unresponsive yo-yo and now the bearing doesn’t spin for more than 3 seconds what can I do to fix this SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!
Jesus Loves all of you guys
Brandon how to do boing e boing
is that a magicyoyo bearing on the thumbnail?
center trak i think
CaptainBajaj do you know the difference between center trac and konkave? it would be awesome to tell me that
hmm i know but i dunno how to tell you in english lol, but you can googling a center trak and concave bearing and ill give you the difference some arright center trak bearing has shield but concave doesnt have.
what yoyo is that
Chance Douglas magicyoyo stealth
No offense to Gentry but your tutorial is way more precise than his. I went by what he said in his tutorial and my YoYo went responsive. I used the needle tactic you showed and it's a smooth spin.
what's the difference between an A grade yoyo and a B grade yoyo????
Justin Kyle Acosta alright thanks!!!!!!!!!
Why does my yo-yo get loud 10 minutes after cleaning and lubing it
It's probs because u opened it . But I'm not sure. That's what usually happened when I open my yoyo
What is uni
University
No matter what I do or how many times I clean my bearing and relube it my yo-yo is responsive? Any suggestions anyone I know video is old but I’m hoping someone see this
What model yoyo do you have? It might be easier to just get a new bearing.
@@thebrandonvu Thank you so much for replying! Holy cow that’s awesome! I have two yo-yos I’m having problems with the horizon and the wedge. The wedge came out the box with so much vibe but I’m scared to touch it and make it responsive.
answer it please!! i have to clean my bearing!
Hey I answered this your question below.
"With such a small amount applied it won't have enough of an effect. You need to desheild it for optimal results."
Yeah I know hate getting lube on my desk -.- xD SMH
I goofed up I put in like 5 drops 😭 it’s become responsive
i put 3 drops of lube...
so should i buy a new bearing???
Atiqa Raj what yoyo?
@@theolodger its a auldey yoyo, i think the name is flame soul
Well, are you getting reduced spin time? if so, clean then apply the correct amount. If same spin time then Never mind.
And if all else fails *then* new bearing
thank you for the help
i have to buy a new bearing
One of my bearingsdoesn't bind shall i lube it?
toprakcem savas you might have to change the pads
yo dudes but with the other bearing it binds normally
toprakcem savas what yoyo are you having problems
yo dudes magicyoyo n12 but with it's own bearing it binds normal i use another bearing from auldey
toprakcem savas lube the bearing that came with it and it will play better and if you have extra pads try different silicone pads
Didn't work
Now it is even more responsive🗡️😀
can you lube the bearing without remove the shield??
i do and it works fine
and if you did the same and its still responsive then just wait and play with it for some minutes
Carlos gonzalez good tip!
@@thebrandonvu thanks you
my yoyo only spins for 2 mins. I want it to spin longer...
