Great Video!! We were there earlier this year and enjoyed it so much that we'll be returning next year. You both did great for first time skiers! Couldn't find Bar Gyu, but will definitely look for it again next time. Being from Hawaii, we never had a white Christmas, either.
Awesome video. We'll be there in just 6 weeks time and these videos are super helpful!! Did you ride the local bus and was it efficient? We're toying with the idea of hiring a car, but wondering if the local bus might be worth it
We wrote a whole reply and then it didn't send though. Hopefully this isn't a double post. We’re glad you found it helpful. We made the video because we found some info lacking when we were planning our trip and thought it would be helpful. Do you mean the buses that take you to Niseko? If so, these are coaches that take people directly to and from the airport so I would say it’s super convenient as a way to get to Niseko. As for the buses while in Niseko. There are free shuttle buses that take you between each resort and sort of around town. There are also local paid buses as well. While it’s convenient, it does take some getting used to. And it can be very crowded on the bus. Overall they did their job and we had a great time. As for hiring a car, we don’t have any experience there so we’re not sure. We also have a "Complete Guide" video for Niseko if you haven't seen that yet.
Our setup is a bit outdated. Sony a6500, 10-18mm lens mostly, 35mm lens sometimes, a broken Zhiyun Weebill gimbal. I'd recommend getting a newer camera and better gimbal than what we have. We also use our Samsung S22 for some of the shots.
where did you guys stay? i looked it up and in december, even resorts in hirafu area are so expensive. SGD1K plus per night... i can never... Sadly, december is about the only time i can visit since it's the sch holiday period...
We stayed at a place called "The Freshwater". It was one of the cheaper places I could find. I looked randomly for you and it's seems like it would be about 970SGD per night. Hope you can find something. I wonder if any of the less popular ski resorts in Japan would be cheaper?
Niseko is well known for its powdery snow n I jus tot might as well go there to experience it esp for my kiddo... Coming from a tropical country, she has never seen snow b4 so... Anyway, I was surprised u actually checked the rates for me... I greatly appreciate the gesture! I guess avoiding hefty accommodation prices is unavoidable then. Better to budget it in then... Thnx heaps!
@@dreamyc1012 That's true, Niseko is very nice and I think it's especially easier if you have kids and want a nice town to explore when not skiing. It wasn't too hard for me to check for you because I had some downtime. Hopefully you might find something cheaper. I don't know if you already do this but I use google hotels and search the map. That way you can see all the prices at once.
@@stevenanddiep I did live there for a few years. Worked in maintenance and construciton management. It's beautiful in the summer, but the winter is a hellscape for residents. So much overtourism and also lots and lots of car accidents!
you guys are so wholesome, i smiled the whole time watching this. thank you!
that's so nice! Niseko was so magical for us so we're glad it showed through the video :)

Thanks! It's so different having see snow coming from such a sunny climate, right?
I'm planning on going to Niseko this winter and your videos convey exactly what I'm looking for. Keep up the solid videos guys!

SnowChef sticker still rocking #1 spot on the handle of the Fridge Door at Bar Gyu+. Hisashi and Ioanna have such a cool venue!
What a small world! Some would say this is the biggest crossover since the Avengers
love niseko great video
Thanks Diana ❤️ Niseko is so magical! Thank you for stopping by =)
Another great vid, loved it. What camera setup do you use to film these vids?

Hi everyone, I'm planning to visit in mid-November. Will the ski resorts be open by then with skiing activities available?
@@tradewithsonic Hi Sonic, from what I can tell. The ski resorts don't open until 30 November.
@@stevenanddiep Thank you so much for the info.
good video
Thanks! 😊

It’s really nice.. Which month you stay in Niseko on this VDO?
We were there in February 🙂
Niseko is a cool place to visit, but it SUCKS to live there. Everything is so expensive, salaries are low, and tourists are incredibly rude to locals.
@@jayfife4213 I had no idea. That does sound sucky. We try to treat the locals as nice as we can! Do you live in Niseko?

@jayfife4213 oh wow I didn't know there were so many accidents. I hope you still had a good time during your years there
