I began watching football during the 1994 World Cup. I was 8 years old at the time and 4 players caught my eye during that tournament who got me into football. Those 4 players were Gheorghe Hagi, Hristo Stoichkov, Romario and Roberto Baggio.
He is the reason why a young me with 13 (1998), who had a great condition and stamina but no technique playing in the defense became a right+left foot player with great technical scills and creativity. I trained like a mad guy every day ilitating the way he dribbled, tricked and shot. I was called for try outs but I was diagnosed with narcolepsis and could not manage it emotionally. But this guy has a different place in my heart!!! Before Ronaldo and Ronaldinho he was my idol!!!
In his prime Gica Hagi was the most complete attacking player in the world and without doubt the best player in USA 94.

Hagi was a remarkable talent. I had the good fortune to go to several games in the '94 world cup, including the final. There were many amazing players at that cup: Romario, Stoichkov, Baggio, Maldini, Brolin, Klinsmann, etc. I'm not qualified to say who was the best overall, but I thought Hagi was definitely the best player on the field in all of his games. What a show he gave us. Nice documentary. Thank you Hagi!

Hagi was a winner as a player and is a winner as a coach and manager. Romania will qualify for 2022 world cup thanks to players created at Hagi Academy in Constantza. The man deserves a statue from gold for being the best ambassador for the country while playing football and for bringing back his wisedom back in his home town to create a better new generation of players. At 20 year old Yanis Hagi debutated for senior national team of Romania while traversating a good spell for Viitorul FC and coached by his father. The Romanians are comming #2022WC. I was born in 1977 in Deva, Romania. I grew up watching Hagi. He was someone I always looked up to. I'm glad to see he is still involved in the same game he always loved. Much love Hagi!

Eastern Europe had three magical midfield players in my childhood , George Hagi , Hristo Stoichkov and Dragan Stojkovic Pixy .It was a privilege watching them as a child . And if I have to decide who's the best , simply I can't , because all 3 players were unbelievable in every aspect of football game , passing , shooting , free kicks , dribbling , great technique , fantastic ball control . My opinion they are last real number 10 players in Eastern Europe from the 90s

Many people think Zidane was 90s greatest footballer. Hagi was far superior and one of the best player throughout that decade hands down.
Maradona said in 90/2000 best footballers was Zidane and Hagi .

@@vasileremumunteanu3141 Hagi was far better and he rarely under performed. Every time Zidane played against Italy or a great defence he'd get frustrated and react. he was practically invisible in the Euro 2000 final and most of 2006 world cup as well as the final.
But you always saw Hagi, in every game he played he gave it his all. I'm glad he got to win the UEFA Cup. Terrible the way he ended end of his career on the pitch.
