@manu150479 I'm sure you don't know that Hagi, throughout his career, scored 310 goals, the vast majority of which were from outside the box. Moreover, Hagi is the man who scored a goal from the central circle of midfield in both Real Madrid and Barcelona. i can't imagine another one who can achieve this.

Hagi was a couple levels above Bernardo Silva, seriously, as good as Silva is, this guy was like almost Maradona good. He could turn a game at any point by himself from midfield, he was a beast dribbler too this vid just does not really show it off so much

Hagi was my favourite player as a kid, what a player, kids at school wanted to be Ian Rush , and although I am a Liverpool fan, but I wanted to be Hagi.

What Hagi did in football is pure math into practice, a genius player, he's shots are powerful and tactical at the same time, lethal left foot and understood the trajectories better than most players. You may think is luck but it was pure intellect and the knowledge that your foot size hits the ball in the right angle and place every time.
He was at Real from 90 to 92 and at Barca from 94 to 96

And to add more to his legacy for football, the man invested a big part of is personal earnings in a football club which he created from zero, with no fans or stadium.
Being a club that started from zero without followers, the big corporations sponsors came only after long years so the man risked his personal wealth if the business would have flopped.
That club now is among the best in Romania, won 2 leagues by now. Romanian league is not much at the European level, but this shows how big Hagi's commitment to football is.
He creates football players in his academy starting from young boys. Besides being a big footballer ( a pleasure to watch ) he is also a true character.
He is the only one who scored from the middle of the field for Barcelona and Real Madrid

The King. ATG. Best left foot there ever was. Best long shooter there ever was. Sadly, he was prophetic when he told the Romanian press in 1998 that in three years Romanian football will be done. Accurate to a tee. 1998 was the last World Cup Romania ever participated in. He retired after that World Cup and some parts of Romanian media literally guilted him into coming back. He came back to qualify Romania to Euro 2000 and made it to the QF. Then he retired from the national team for good. We never recovered. We had a decent generation after his (Mutu, Chivu & co), but they were very unlucky and sadly they did not rise up to the level of their predecessors. Current generation is the worst I've seen in my lifetime.
Bear in mind that Romania is not necessarily a small country. Romanian football nowadays is a joke (both in club and international football), but Hagi started his own football academy and his own football club in his hometown. It is the only place where any remotely talented Romanian fooball players are made. He never was a great football manager, but his eye for talent is second to none.
There will never be anyone like him again and the biggest shame is that the Turks arguably appreciated him more than the Romanians did while he was active. Only after he was gone people started to wake up when they reminisce how great he and his contemporaries were and how right he was about our country's football. His son is a decent player too, but sadly he gets injured too often.

As a kid, I enjoyed and loved the Columbia game until I found out Escobar ordered the assassination of a player that team's loss against USA, a team that was a host with basically no football history or skills. I scared and woke Me up. I wondered what the players felt and if they ever thought they were responsible for trying their best.

That may not be right, Michael Laudrup joined Real Madrid the same year as Hagi joined Barcelona, 1994. So you can't really say which one was first.

Ethnically he is romanian machedon...or macedoromanian, a cousin of romanians, called The King in Romania or Commander in Turkyie, born 5th feb 1965 one of the best middle offensives of European football. Founded a football club and a football academy in Romania. One of the best romanians who ever lived, together with Nadia Comaneci (perfect 10 gymnast)

Not only he was one of the greatest players of all times now he is a couch/owner of his home town team and won the title this year with 3 times less budget than the other teams competing for the title, let's hope he will take them to UCL groups 🙏
- Hagi now both owns and coaches FC Farul Constanta, the very first team that discovered and promoted him when he was young (I'm proud to say that i'm i fan of this team too)
- FC Farul won the 1st league in Romania for the first time in +100 years history with a lot of -21 years players which Hagi discovered at his own academy or with players that messed up their careers and got back in the game by Hagi. they are currently playing in Conference League.
- In the last 7 years, the most important players of the Romanian national team have been trained by Hagi. One of them is his son Ianis Hagi.
- Financially, Hagi's team has a budget of +3mil € while other top 5 teams has 2 times more than that, the 2nd team CFR Cluj with even 25+ mil € and FCSB who is owned by one of the wealthiest romanian, yet still FC Farul won the league.
- Because of Hagi's fame and influence, he put pressure on the government to finally make a new modern stadium in Constanta after we had to play on a 70 years old ruin. 1 month ago they demolished it.
when Hagi was in his prime at Galatasaray, he say in a press conference after the world cup in Romania his most famous words: "seeing the condition of the romanian football, you should make us a statue how we play".... he was and still is so right after almost 30 years...

He is the reason why a young me with 13 (1998), who had a great condition and stamina but no technique playing in the defense became a right+left foot player with great technical scills and creativity. I trained like a mad guy every day ilitating the way he dribbled, tricked and shot. I was called for try outs but I was diagnosed with narcolepsis and could not manage it emotionally. But this guy has a different place in my heart!!! Before Ronaldo and Ronaldinho he was my idol!!!

Let's divide football into two eras: the stone balls and the aero-dynamic balls - so since the 80s there has never been a better long-range shooter than Hagi, absolutely nobody! He was muchhhh better than both Silva's. As a rule of thumb: players back then as a whole were better than this era's simply cos they mostly came through rough street football as opposed to regimented academies where players are turned into robots of the system and JDP football didn't suck out all the free-expression. You will find this out as you continue to react to old school player -the superior technique. Today's teams though are better, as tactics are more nuanced, and diets are better. It was a trade-off: the rock n roll star for the country boy singer, so the collective is better.

I saw many of these goals live and two in the stadium. I can say that he was "magical" in training as well, you couldn't tell how he handled the ball.
people who didn't know bout him or watch his games don't actually understand what this mans rly did, it's crazy what he did, in this vid they had the best defenders and goalies ever, all in their prime, and Hagi made this look so easy, He ridiculed them all. top 3 best long shooter in the world fo sho. Romania could have gone all the way that world cup, and they would have destroyed brazil in finals. Wouldve been crazy if maradona played that cup instead of having the drug scandal n being benched, would've been insane.
Growing up in the period of Hagi and even seeing him a few times, I am amazed that people, even to this day, make reviews of him being in his prime. Respect for that.

The problem with today's footballers is that they train and play matches on 30 meter football field until they are 15 years old. I remember when I was 10 years old, I was running on the 100-meter field and I was shooting from 30 meters. You can't compare the trainings back then with the ones now. And nowadays you don't really have children who run outside all day from a young age. What you see today are little girls with better conditions, lighter balls, better fields, better equipment.

In Romania we have also Nicolae Dobrin who played for FC Argeș Pitești...is not as known as Hagi...but many players who played against both said Hagi was good...but if Dobrin had the ball at his foot you would n even touch it...he could play even after he drank a day before and score 3 goals with no problems...Hagi and Dobrin played in different eras of football and President of Real Madrid Santiago Bernabeu himself came in Romania at the time to negociate a transfer for Dobrin at Real with president of Romania at that time Nicolae Ceaușescu after he saw Dobrin playing at Real Madrid trainings where he was invited for about a week and officially in a friendly at one of Real Madrid legendary player retirement but Romanian Communist leader and also him refused the transfer so he stayed at Pitești.
