I guess people's concepts of a kidnapping are skewed from movies...being kidnapped does not = being tied to a chair, gagged, and brutally tortured/beaten half to death. Some cases are like that, but it's actually more rare for that to happen. You'd be surprised...even terrorist kidnappings usually end up with people coming out with sometimes even GOOD stories about how well they were treated, despite it being a kidnapping. The gang leader could've been the one clout-chasing, and it just so happened to benefit Arab as well, both get recognition and the gang leader gets the money he wants from the ransom.
Also, even if it were fake, he still DID go to Haiti, which is more than I can say for anyone else on youtube, or you current readers that are comfortably sitting behind a screen from the safety of your home. He's a good story teller, for that alone it's worth it, everything else is just a big bonus.

As a Haitian who knows a lot about the ground situation in Haiti. Anyone who thinks this dude is lying. You are wrong. He got kidnapped by possibly the most dangerous war lords in the country. It just so happens that the warlord loves media coverage so he kidnapped him on purpose but he is not lying.
If you are indeed a resident of Haiti, I would like to ask you the following:
Can a simple person-tourist without cameras etc... come on vacation to Haiti for 1-2 days?
or is he at risk of being kidnapped by armed gangs who will demand a ransom, while the tourist may be poor?

@@CamLoverI’m not a resident of Haiti but I am Haitian and have traveled to the country many times over. The gang leaders love media coverage just like any politician would. But yes if you’re a regular Joe with nothing to offer them they would probably try to get ransom off of you and if you couldn’t provide it they would probably get rid of you. this guy has notoriety and has a platform I’m almost sure they took the time out to use his platform to show who they are and their cause and plight to the world. Also the city he is in is a legendary one…the city takes its name from a tradition that had the Spaniards passing to deposit bouquets of flowers at the foot of a large cross that was on the land where the city was built. Hope that was enough information for you. you may see these people as gangs but the people that live in their vicinity look at them as freedom fighters and protectors.
