Watching you spin in the sunshine was such a delight! Every year around October (before it gets too chilly) I clean the windows inside and out. That way, I get as much sunshine as possible and everything looks crisp, clear and colorful once the days become a bit more dark and dreary. I also light candles for a bit of a warm glow. 💛

Such a nice calm video to co-spin with! Really trying to re engage with my spinning practice and it was nice to have a buddy while working. Your yarn/hat are beautiful!! 🤎

What a balm this time was, thank you. Getting my body moving a little every day, walking either outside or on the walking pad, and staying connected to community both keep my spirit light in the dark times.

Never have I been interested in spinning until I saw your feet moving up and down on those peddles that looks so meditative😅 and thanks for the mention!! Happy reading ❤❤

my partner & i both have thursdays off of work, so as often as we can/the weather allows, we make a point of going somewhere for a long walk to get at least a liiiittle sun on our skin. i'm also a big fan of bright colours in my decor + lots of cute secondhand table tamps to keep my space bright and cheery during the winter months🌞 thank you for this cozy video that kept me comfy while i was sipping my coffee & knitting on a sweater sleeve 💕

Thank you so much for sharing this video today. It has been a hard week and it was so nice to sit and knit with you for a bit. Having knitting as a reliable space to find comfort is how I stay light (and not just during the winter months). Knit on! 💫

Thank you for your video. Your spinning is very inspiring. I, too, have trouble with light this time of year. My yard is shady year round, however, in the winter it is more than dreary. My craft room is the brightest area in my home, and I usually knit there during the day listening to music. In the evenings, under lamplight while watching tv. This works for me 😊

So lovely to watch the progress. The yarn you've created sure looks delicious. There is a fine balance with deadlines - with enough pressure to get us moving but not so much that crushes us. I have a practice of seeking out small joys, the tinier and less "important" the better. Embodied is also good. Things like taking a moment in the sunshine, appreciating a colour or texture. They help me get through dark patches, literally and figuratively.

The hat looks lovely and both yarns were absolutely gorgeous! As for light in the winter ... knitting and my granddaughter are my light in at dark times.

I stay light in the winter by wearing bright colors! Aqua, hot pink or neons! I don’t let the season dictate what colors I wear. ❤

During winter I spend a lot of time under a blanket and surrounded by candles ❤ and I loved the video! I recently got a spindle and some fiber, so I’m excited to start spinning once I have some free time 😊

I have been in a spinning kick lately and watching others spin up gorgeous yarn just gets my motivation going so much more! Absolutely loved this video. I live in Southern California, so winters here feel almost like every other season, just a tiny bit more chilly. I personally love longer nights, it gives me a great excuse to call it early and snuggle into bed at 7-8pm 😂

Glad to be among virtual friends and take refuge from the chaos. During the storms (duality implied) I find it helpful to add extra lights, a lamp or candle to create a space for color and brightness to thrive.

this was a lot of fun to watch! that neck light looks very handy, for knitting bit maybe also for reading 😮 it would definitely beat my current lighting combo situation of: overhead light, desk lamp and standing lamp 😂

Such a good episode. And whoa!!!!! That yarn you spinned is gorgeous! How do I stay light? Right now I am in the middle of the last semester of my teaching credential program and student teaching for no pay and working on my EDTPA portfolio whose submission in April has me feeling very heavy with stress and worry and not at all "light".. However, if I had to say what keeps me in the light these days it is knitting at the end of the day, even if I fall asleep after 5-10 minutes because I am so exhausted. When I wake with my hands still holding my knitting needles I can't help but laugh at myself for holding onto my knitting like it is a life preserver that helps me not take the whole ordeal of student teaching and passing the EDTPA too seriously. P.S. Are you going to be selling that yarn in your shop? I really liked the darker one you spun. Bye for now and abrazos, querida!

I enjoyed this video while knitting on my #sebucketlistKAL project! I am really trying to keep January light by leaving up a few strands of my Christmas lights in the darkest corners of my house. It is helping!

I was specifically thinking about that Lumos neck light thing today, I got a no name neck light for Christmas a few years ago and it works okay but it's relatively bulky and it's not that flexible or easy to adjust... I'm planning to stay light this time of year with a new sexy neck light (this comment was NOT sponsored LOL)

trying to stay light and cozy this winter - and for the next 4 years. so many things that I did to stay centered, the biggest, newest thing is that I am OFF instagram. I only watch YT videos that are my carefully selected folks and I refuse to watch the news at all. I'll be there for all the rallies and the necessary burn the Fers down events, but otherwise I am protecting my peace. Knitting on. So far my 2025 stats - 700 grams in (30% red, pink and white yarns did me in), 1452 grams out for a net decrease of stash by 752 grams. Goal, as always is the year in grams out - so 2025 grams out this year.
