I used to feel like that when I went to the gym... until it got to be a routine... I started feeling better. I used to go at 5pm on my way home from work... because there was less people. Then go home, showered and had dinner. Remember the feeling AFTER your workout. That motivated me the most. I put my work stress into it and went home feeling good and light! I'm cheering you on!
I HATE gyms. They made me feel so much anxiety. I managed to lose over 120lbs - without ever going to the gym again. I wear glasses, so what I used to do was to take them off and put them in my pocket and just walked outside, working on the principle that “If I can’t see them, they can’t see me!”. I then tried the same trick with swimming. Our local swimming pool opens at 6.00am so I went every day, Monday to Friday and swam a (slow) mile, without really seeing anyone else. I have had to have 4 major brain surgeries in the last 5 years and am now bed ridden. It took me a couple of hard years to adjust to that, but my anxiety is now gone. I have realised what actually is and is not important in life. I would definitely frog the baby blanket as it looks more grey than green to me. I would also frog the scarf. Our crafting should bring us joy, not add more to the anxiety producing sentiments. Jinny - UK
I love your cowl!!! Definitely putting it on my list. Awe your pup is adorable! That is so thoughtful of you to make a blanket for your Dad. Omg! Never heard the "wild hair up my ***" saying!!! 😂 Those socks are cool! If you hate the colours on Goldfish Memories, change them. 😊 I love gold colours myself. That is one cool baby blanket pattern! Omgosh! Congratulations on your weight-loss progress!!! It was lovely catching up with you!
Love your cowl and looked up the pattern straight away 😊. I think the gold and purple on your shawl maybe don't guite go together. Your Stephen West baby blanket is lovely. Huge well done on the weight loss and needing smaller clothes, a huge achievement and amazing feelings good factor. I totally understand your anxiety, my shame is accompanied by guilt at doing anything for myself.
To be honest, I’d frog the Goldfish Memory shawl. When the colors don’t work, you won’t be happy with it. I just did this over the weekend when the color didn’t work for me.
As someone with both ADHD and autism diagnoses, I identify with A LOT of what you said. Please please please read this with the open heart and compassion I offer - have you considered either of those as a possibility? Having language around my issues has been revolutionary, and at 42 I'm just starting to learn how to advocate for myself in a way, and if I can possibly help someone shortcut the Very Awful Time I've had, I would love to.
I greatly appreciate the thoughtful comment! My husband has recently been diagnoses with ADHD and in the two of us learning more about what ADHD looks like for him, we've come to realize its very likely that I'm on the Autism side of the spectrum. Though not formally diagnosed just yet, it is definitely something I've had at the front of my mind, though due to not yet being diagnoses I don't want to "lay claim to the term" just yet.
❤ love the cowl
Podcast pups are the best !❤
Been looking for new knitting podcasts! You have a great presenting voice, and your knits are so pretty!
I’m so impressed on how you talk to yourself about anxiety and it’s motivating to me. I’m glad I found your podcast

Thank you for representing the diversity of anxiety! I love your candidness. See you in 2 weeks 🎉
I can totally relate to the anxiety “shame”

Your new friend 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Stay connected dear ❤❤❤❤❤❤
You should trust your gut on the color! If you don't like it already, just cut your loss now and get colors you like!
Agree. Knitting takes time- don’t waste it on things or colours that you are not enjoying.
Why not gift the golden yarn to your friend?
