🚨 New Subscribers Alert 🚨 I love your spirit & the direction of your channel. I can’t wait to see how you grow, develop & change on your journey! Plus knitting just rocks 🎉 🧶
I really think you’re amazing! It’s so great you have a supportive husband, it sure makes a difference 😀 I absolutely love all your gifts you made. So talented! Takes a lot of guts to come out and bare your soul. I just admire you❤️
Keep up the good work, sweetie. I’ll keep watching. My sugar has been pre-diabetes range for many years. At 61, I don’t have the energy to take care of myself anymore. You motivate me. ❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing! I had a back injury in 2012 and lost my ability to do anything including sitting. That past years have been 24/7 pain, endless doctor appointments and procedures. Now, after gaining a significant amount of weight and losing a significant amount of muscle mass and strength, I am working on fighting my way back to something approaching normal. No one is quite sure to what degree I will be able to get back to normal. All this to say-I hear you! I know what it is to cry over accomplishments that you worked so hard for, I know the frustration of trying to balance effort vs recovery. I know the people serving, self neglecting struggle and the pain being released when you move parts of your body and mentally and physically working to find who you are and how you want to show up in the world. You have an advantage over me in that I didn’t start this process until I was 45. I’m 57 now and am doing the work. I support you 1000 % and am glad that I found you. I knit also and random yarn selection is a challenge! Anyway, looking forward to your future videos as your presence is an encouragement to me. You go girl!❤
I really enjoyed the whole podcast. I love all your crafting - knitting and crochet. I am now bedridden after brain tumour surgeries so I understand your frustration with gaining weight. I have subscribed. Jinny - UK
Congratulations on your journey to a healthier life. I think you are in the right place to a successful path to have a healthy weight. Keep it up, be consistent and you’ll see progress because you deserve it and you are good enough. Your body is your temple and it deserves to be cared for the same way you care for others. All the best, you got this!!
Congratulations on your first podcast! What a great assortment of projects. And congratulations on making big life changes too, I appreciate your candor. It sounds like you have a wonderful support system around you. I’m following.
I enjoy all your knits! Wow! Your blankets are awesome! I really enjoyed your podcast! Hugs! Your journey is inspirational. Wow... your brother is an awesome support to help youin the gym! I get you. I never struggled with weight until menopause hit. It affects my mental health which in turn affects my weight. Congratulations on your weight loss so far! Know that you are not alone. Keep it up!
I think you did amazing for your first podcase. Not sure I could have done it. Can't wait to see your projects grow and learn about your journey along the way
Hello and welcome! I enjoyed this and your frankness. I see you have a negative comment. Do NOT let it put you off! This is your space, to be yourself in. I've been doing this for 4 years and have come to realise that some people aren't capable of just thinking "this isn't quite right for me" and quietly moving on. They are invited into your personal space, just the same as visiting your house, and don't realise the same manners apply! If I can offer some advice? If a comment will play on your mind, delete it. I HAVE subscribed and I admire your determination greatly. And thank you also for the trigger warning. Looking forward to episode 2 very much! X
And don't forget, even negative comments or a thumbs down count as interaction to YT. They don't care if it's positive or negative, I'd say thank you for boosting you thru the algorithm and move on lol... BTW, Hi Mandy I watch your channel too 🖐️
Thank you for the advise! It'll go far in the journey I've begun. I know the swearing isn't for everyone which is why the warning card is included. I'll keep this in mind in the future though since I know it'll happen again in the future.
Wow...u had me from the first word!...excellent video, and beautiful finished objects and gorgeous gifts....boy, I can relate to soooo many things that u talked about....just subscribed
So brave of you to put yourself out there. I relate to a lot of your struggles and knitting has helped in many ways. You have true GRIT which will get you to where you want to be…. Looking forward to your next episode!
I can relate so much! Thank you for making this podcast, sharing your journey and for being so kind and respectful when talking about harder topics! Seeing this today is a sign for me to work on my own podcast, I've wanted to make one for a while now with mental health aspects ❤ also 6:13 and "new year, new me fuckers @ the gym" made me laugh 😂 Btw you're incredibly strong, the fact that you're here today - aware, taking action and talking about the obstacles - is beautiful and I deeply appreciate that! You've got this babe! ❤❤
Life is tough, you are doing hard things! I'm so excited for you and so frigging proud of you! I was diagnosed with diabetes and lost weight with my new way of eating, that sux btw, but I still buy clothes way too big for me and knit everything oversized. I can't see myself as I really am even after over 2-3 years of being 70lbs lighter. I hate it! When I do get something that fits me I still blame it on the brand being made big not me being a new size. Girl we Have to do better than this to ourselves and for ourselves! Like I said in my other comment, I'm here for you!
Great start!! I know it's the anxiety, but don't say you're sorry!! There is no need to apologize for being overcome by emotion over where you've been and where you're going. Believe me, you'll be helping a lot of people who think they can't do it.
@knitawaytheanxiety i used to do the same thing. Everything was sorry, sorry, sorry, even when I wasn't responsible. She told me I was allowed to apologize once a day and only for something I did that needed an apology. I've been blessed with some strong confident women in my life.
Like the brick block WIP! Congratulations on the wt loss! It's hard work but worth it. I lost 85lbs & feel sooo.....much better. Walking was a huge benefit to me & if someone walks with you, it makes it less of a chore. Husbands are a gift, mine is & sounds like you're is too. You can do this! Love the first pod cast💜💚
Awesome job!! 🎉i am going to knit that shawl! Also starting a new fitness routine, if you could call it that! I actually didnt notice the swearing in your video😅, maybe once or twice... But doesn't bother me!
Congratulations on seeing such improvements! Bodies are so weird - I hate working out because the whole getting warm, heart racing, breathing rapidly, FEELS like anxiety. But we're coming up to three years since we moved to a much cooler place, and I CAN walk, and I love being outside here. I started knitting 11 years ago to try and deal with my anxiety, and it helped a bit, but I also found out a year ago that not only do I have ADHD, I'm also autistic. Knitting is both my special interest and my favourite stim. 🥳 Love your stormy sky shawl too - I love the pattern, and yours definitely makes me want to push it higher up my queue. Anyway, welcome! I look forward to seeing more from you!
I had to subscribe as soon as I saw you on my feed because I just knew we were going to be soul mates! I was a special education teacher for 20+ years until an incident occurred and, I feel like my brain broke, I've been on disability since 2010 due to anxiety issues ever since. Now I'm riddled with tons of health issues related to it so I totally understand how debilitating anxiety and stress can be to a person and their body. I'm here for you!!!
I’ve just subscribed, I’m doing the Habitation Throw, I cast on onDecember 28th and showed it on my podcast yesterday, I’m loving doing it in fingering weight yarn. I’m planning the Isolde Teague hat for my hubby, any tips? Congratulations on a fab first podcast, greetings from the UK 🇬🇧
You’re off to a great start. Continue to be your authentic self. I enjoyed your very first episode. Thank you for your vulnerability and willingness to be open & share your successes and challenges. Since 2018, I lost over 100 pounds. It’s not easy but I feel so much better. It took me a very long time to get past the body dysmorphia and fear of my own skin. My skin was my protective shield for so many years. Now when I look in the mirror at my naked body, I see the sagging skin (and boobs 😂) as a badge of courage that I have won this first battle. Don’t get discouraged. You may gain weight though out your journey. I had a health event and gained 80 lbs back. When I was ready, I got back on the path. Ask for a Bariatric blood panel to be sure your numbers are okay. I love fairlife protein drinks. 30 grams of protein for under 200 calories and 2 grams of sugar. They taste really good and it’s an easy way to get my fluids and protein in. I at a stage where I need at least 90 grams of protein to maintain my weight and not gain. If I don’t get enough protein in, I start gaining weight again. You are doing great. I do have one suggestion, when you are ready you may want to consider therapy. It has helped me a great deal especially as I began to reach my goal weight. My fear of failure is real and I can’t lose the battle. She has helped me with working through the anxiety triggers. The great thing is I don’t have to deal with going to her office, we meet through telehealth. It’s wonderful and freeing not to have the barrier of having to leave my safe space to deal with my mental health. It’s just a suggestion and take it with a grain of salt if you’re not ready yet.
Thank you for the kind comment! I thankfully have a therapist that I've been seeing for nearly 4 years now, my anxiety journey is just a long one as I have a lot of unlearning to do and as I get older and experience more of the world new triggers crop up - I'm blessed to have my therapist and the support of my husband and family as I learn the tools I need to combat the triggers.
I liked the first part of your video when you were talking about your knitting projects. While I wanted to hear more about your weight loss journey all the “ F” bombs started to become really annoying after awhile.
Hi there! Yes I do crochet as well. I started my fiber arts journey with knitting, so if you asked younger me which was easier, she'd say knitting. Ultimately, it'll depend on your patience level. Knitting is more time consuming since the stitches are smaller so they build up slower, but crochet can also be quite tricky at the start. I'm a strong advocate for trying both and seeing which you enjoy more!
I'm subscribing so you know there are people out there supporting you and who will draw inspiration from your journey and your presentation to viewers as well. TY for your bravery on your first episode. You are very natural, and I appreciate that.

oh goodness thank you for that! i'll work on getting that fixed before my next upload. thank you so much!!
Congratulations on your 30 pound loss. I think you have the right idea to do it slowly.
I have compassion for you but your language is very offensive so I will not subscribe.
Thank you for your feedback, have a nice day!
