I know this isn't a widely held sentiment among BR fans, but I never realized how much Bobby Schayer contributed this band until after he was gone. His is by far my favorite era of theirs. Such an incredibly talented, underrated drummer.
BOBBY SCHAYER and the album STRANGER THAN FICTION made me fall in love with BAD RELIGION and buy my drums kit right before founding my first band. THANK YOU, BOBBY. Abraços de Fortaleza / BRASIL.

Rotator cuff injury and he didn’t want surgery. Plus he was burned out mentally and just wasn’t loving it anymore. Bowed out on good terms. Just read this in the new 2020 book, “Do What You Want: The Story of Bad Religion.” Great read!

It was the show that popularized music videos in the early 80s. Non-stop music (mostly new wave, then later “alt rock” and grunge) 24/7! I used to watch it religiously for new things to get into, pre-internet.
