I know this isn't a widely held sentiment among BR fans, but I never realized how much Bobby Schayer contributed this band until after he was gone. His is by far my favorite era of theirs. Such an incredibly talented, underrated drummer.
BOBBY SCHAYER and the album STRANGER THAN FICTION made me fall in love with BAD RELIGION and buy my drums kit right before founding my first band. THANK YOU, BOBBY. Abraços de Fortaleza / BRASIL.
Fuck, This is such a rad performance by them. My favorite lineup of Bad Religion, Post-Non-Performing-Brett. Saw them on this tour with Unwritten Law and Dance Hall Crashers. Awesome night.
Met them at a show in Santa Cruz. Really cool guys. Was talking to Bobby and he was talking about how the drumming was starting to take its toll on his body.
Altri82 I can’t agree more. He has a really cool drum style, that’s really catchy. I think most of the songs were better with him, although The Empire Strikes First still kicks so much Ass!!
@@Altri82that’s bullshit. They were sloppy as hell for a lot of Bobby’s era. I love Bobby’s drumming but Brooks was absolutely the shot in the arm the band desperately needed

Rotator cuff injury and he didn’t want surgery. Plus he was burned out mentally and just wasn’t loving it anymore. Bowed out on good terms. Just read this in the new 2020 book, “Do What You Want: The Story of Bad Religion.” Great read!
MTV used to be amazing. I saw so many great bands on there back in the day. Then some dunderhead corporate wonks decided they could increase profits by changing the programming to game shows and shit. So sad!
It was the show that popularized music videos in the early 80s. Non-stop music (mostly new wave, then later “alt rock” and grunge) 24/7! I used to watch it religiously for new things to get into, pre-internet.

Agreeed one thousand percent
Specially in this song, no one play it like him and is just perfect
Yeah, he did it just right. The way he played simply fit the songs, but he could do way more if necessary
Yeah! He rocked hard! These guys, just out of the garage! lol ! ; )
целую твои мысли !
One of their best songs. A message that will always be true.
So true...

Me too!
Me too....
One of the best albums ever made imo. Timeless!
Sweet!!
I miss Bobby, he got me into one of BR gigs back in 1995 when it sold out.
Love that album too!
Yeah, I felt his drumming style when he was in his prime (before the shoulder injury) suited their music best next to Pete.
TAKE IT BOBBY :)
So young! Shows how long they have been devoted to their fans.
I remember watching this when it originally aired. That took me back.
SO much energy in this video! Holy shit!
That bass is fucking tight.
that *ass is fucking tight

2:26 cool Bad Religion 3 part harmony :)
Brian’s first job: can you yell “fend for yourself” over and over? Ok good
One of my favorite songs of theirs.. Thanks for this!
What a killer song.

Message and harmony is masterful.

What a tune!!
It's like Bobby Schayer had chops or something!
goddam i miss bobby and hetson
As far as am I watching live videos from all Bad Religion's eras the band sounds better with Bobby. Even better than the guy from Avenged Sevenfold
Altri82 I can’t agree more. He has a really cool drum style, that’s really catchy. I think most of the songs were better with him, although The Empire Strikes First still kicks so much Ass!!
Mostly Greg.
@@bernardoperez3839 who's drumking in your opinion?

Hetson reminds me of Scott Ian
So good
Bobby was so cool
This is the way of the modern world
I recorded it right off of the cable TV transmission. I guess the original deck was high quality. Glad you like it!
Can you imagine that Green Day OPENED for BR on the Recipe for Hate tour?
Saw that tour..then saw br open for blink 182 🤦
Who needs a hi hat? Bobby Rules
Great
Every time you shake someone's hand and it feels like your best friend,
Could it be that it's only superficiality?,

You gotta overcome the obstacles of history,
There is restrained passion, mistrust, and bigotry
And these have created the new foundations of society,
There's no harmony just class and race
This is the way of the modern world,
Everyone's fighting for dominance,
This is the way of the modern world,
And something has gotta give
Now I believe in unity, and I am willing to compromise,
But I'm not gonna lie or sell my soul
Every time you shake someone's hand,
It determines where you stand,
And if you won't uphold your side then it's better to
Fend for yourself, and shun the handshake,
Someone's gotta give
The older I get, the more I realize this song ring truer by the day. Sad.

The last thing they did worth my money .the back ground vocals always blow live w all the nsync trickery they do in the studio
It’s a three part harmony and I’m pretty they riffed it from The Beach Boys

Good music on MTV?!

There was back in 1994.

What's MTV?
Stephen DeBenedetto music television
It's a network that got off the air, because of a Dead Kennedys song. ;)
