The audio is actually from the John Peel Sessions 7”. It was a live recording with post-production crap added. That harmony on “ we hit a place to go” was added in, that was graffin singing that lower harmony.
I was 8 years old when this was in MTV. I am 35 now and own every bad religion album on CD, some on vinyl (it's a fun hobby) and listen to them always on spotify when driving. They have been apart of my life for decades. I've got my kids listening and learning their music. What a bad. I will always love their music, their lyrics, their messages.
@@angusdog22 in my opinion suffer to ATG is their hardcore punk peak, but some of their best songmaking abilities are shown in their albums of the 90s.
This song was at its absolute best with Bobby behind the kit and Brett doing backup vocals! Bobby is so precise, powerful and minimalistic, which is exactly what this song needs.

Almost sounds like the studio version! Such a great singer and great harmony!
Sounds like the uploader just merged the MTV audio into the studio release at 0:07.
he did merge an audio from something else. but its not the studio version.

Here’s the actual audio

Yeah but his physical performance lacks
This is easily the best live version of the song. I love how loud and clear the back up vocals are during the break down.
This isn't live
@@mottosierra1372 It isn’t studio
The audio I think it is from the peel sessions recording, which is partially live except the vocals, and does not correspond to this tv appearance.
rock am ring 2002 tho 👀🫡
Rock in Rio 2022
The backing vocal is crazy good.
Young Greg Graffin looks like old Greg Graffins best student
Who ever is on drums is my hero
Bobby Schayer
He looks like the kid they only let in the band cus it’s his moms basement they use for practice but he smashes the shit out of them drums.
@@simonhumphries3340 hahaha yeah he DOES look like a kid or Graffin's neighbour or something
My mate the mighty Bobby Schayer
He later became the drum tech for Interpol for a while. I met him at one of their shows, great guy.
There never was, and never will be a punk/punk-rock band as good as Bad Religion.
In class of their own and they still kick fucking ass
Rancid, Nofx
bad brains

i almost thought this wasn't real. How are the vocals so crisp? even the harmonies are literally perfect
BEST PUNK ROCK BAND I EVER HEARD IN M LIFE.
Never tought you could get addicted to a video I watched this like 20 times in 2 days
Wow they sounded good. Greg’s voice is so unique, and soulful.
He totally could've gotten into the grunge scene, he has the perfect voice for that. But he sounds really good in this style too
Best version I've heard.
To me, the "Interface" version, the 30 year anniversary, is the best one
The Interface one is better instrumentally, but this one is much better vocally. Both version rock though!
I prefer that Riviera Theater Version!
That's awesome and before start there's a little heston interview
SO POWERFUL.......
ON POINT.....................
AT THERE PRIME...............
WE ALL MISS BOBBY, HETSON, AND MR. BRETT!!!!!!!
BAD RELIGION
This is a band at its peak musically and going for it !
Nah … their peak was 1988 -89. Suffer and No Control IMO

man big sad that i just found this song, but happy to be here for it now
jay+brett back vocs = absolute perfection
Harmonies are insane !!!
A pivotal song and pivotal band in the annals of music history.
probably the best punk rock band to ever exist!
Back when mtv was cool
This song was at its absolute best with Bobby behind the kit and Brett doing backup vocals! Bobby is so precise, powerful and minimalistic, which is exactly what this song needs.
He did have that signature sound to his kick snare double kick pattern. Just doesn't sound like anyone else's and I can't explain why.
OMG this Backing Vocals!!!!! :O perfect
Best band ever!
The vocals are so on point!🤘
This song is so nice to listen to. Such a tuneful song! So catchy chorus to sing along with the song.
Harmonies are fucking amazing
Perfect backing vocals Holly shit. Just perfect
I remember watching this with my dad in 3rd grade. Been hooked ever since!
So Jay and Brett really CAN sing great, just every so often it seems! Fantastic performance by everyone.
this song changed my life, years ago.
thx
Always great to see Mr. Brett live.
Miss you Bobby...Greg Hetson... an Mr Brett.... best lineup ever
Agreed. I just saw them again and wanted Greg and Brett there so bad.
Did they quit?
Turns out they where right they have the American Jesus right on bass.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I never would've imagined that Jesus is 6'5".
backing vocals sound so great here
Great song! Excelent performance!

Fostering their shame on faith
We've got the American Jesus
Overwhelming millions every day
He's the farmers barren fields
The force the army wields
The expression in the faces of the starving millions
The power of the man he's the fuel that drives the clan
He's the motive and conscience of the murderer
He's the preacher on t.v., the false sincerity
The form letter that's written by the big computers
The nuclear bombs and the kids with no moms
And I'm fearful that he's inside me
We've got the American Jesus

Greg Graffin at its best for sure!

Jesus!! That’s a live performance. Awesome bad!
I think they sounded really raw even for them, on purpose. Representing punk to the fullest always. Rad.

What a band!
Bobby was indeed one of the best drummers for BR, cool dude too!!
Tight sound!!
Their best drummer for sure, I like all their albums, but the Bobby era was the best.

The Beatles of Punk rock.
This is the Bad Religion I grew up with and fell in love with, but at this point, it’s odd seeing only 5 people on stage and Bobby on drums.
live they sound just like if you played the cd. fantastic!
awesome version
1993 is a insane year
Wtf are these godlike backing vocals? Sounds surreal.
Only the best punk rock band

Is that a green day t-shirt from kerplunk? The guitarist wears that!
It is yeah! Crazy to think that kerplunk was their most recent album when this video was made.

30 years in and still accurate as fuck! Damn I wish the 90's would never had ended 😢😢
Bad Religion f*cking rocked!!! 🤘
Can't count how many times seeing BR in SoCal days. Iguana's in TJ was a crazy gig right around '90 or 91.
Saw this the night it aired. Just as relevant now, if not more so.
