In the netherlands golf gti’s are the most hated cars not because of the car but because of the people who drive them, 9/10 times they are a drug dealer or just an immigrant who drives very aggressively and they always cut you off of speed god i hate golfs
I got a 1.8 mk4 as my second car only 20 years old. It’s a million times more fun than my pervious civic, and I’ve gotten interaction from other vw golf drivers in this car. Love the community
if u want it then pay for it yourself, doesnt matter if they think its worth it. if its their car and u want to spend their money to trade it for a golf then i would just get a job tbh

Really, the difference between the two is negligible if we are talking a daily driver. If you are comfortable with the manual or want to learn then pick that up. If you are buying one of these to go build into a Time attack car or go racing , then DSG is probably your best bet.

Drove stick since 1999. Got the Mk7 Golf in 2015 with DSG and there's absolutely no reason to go for stick. You can manually shift (if you like) and it's fast af, so you're on full power all the time. Before DSG I used to despise automatic gearboxes. Torque converters really suck. Wanna be a man? Grow up and come up with smarter ways to prove you're a "man" lol (like realizing you really don't have to try prove it so hard when you actually are one)

Tune. I don’t know how he tuned it, but there are lots of ways to tune the gti including flash tunes. Pops are an optional part of most tunes
